Chapter 9 - Distress in the Sugarcane Forest

Mu Bei came to Wu's residence again.

Wu smiled and said, "Bei, did you bring this thing back?" Mu Bei bowed and said, "Yes, Wu, I was lost in the forest and found it by accident. I call it Sugar Cane."

"Are there many in this sugarcane forest?" asked the witch.

"I only saw one patch, and I'm not sure if there are any more around. I was lost at the time and didn't pay much attention to the surrounding situation." Mu Bei replied.

"You have made a contribution to the tribe again this time. You can make a request." The witch said happily.

Mu Bei thought for a long time but couldn't think of what he needed. He said to Wu: "Bei is also a member of the tribe. It is my duty to contribute to the tribe. I don't need any reward."

Wu pondered for a moment and said, "Then I will record your contribution for the time being. Tomorrow you will lead the leader to bring back the sugarcane. By the way, check if there are any other similar species around."

"Okay." Mu Bei nodded and agreed.

Mu Bei quickly returned home, washed the sugarcane, then squeezed the juice and put it into the pot to boil. It was very simple to squeeze the juice, just put it in your hands, which was better than the juicer in his previous life.

"Second brother, why do you put the sugarcane in the pot to cook?" Rong asked in confusion as he watched Mu Bei's operation.

"Boiling can make sugarcane sweeter. Don't ask any more questions and just keep adding fire." Mu Bei replied with a smile.

Soon the juice was boiled dry and turned into syrup. Mu Bei scooped out the syrup, put it on a tray prepared in advance, and set it aside to dry. Mu Bei sighed softly: "The ancestor of sugarcane has so much juice and such a high sugar content."

The syrup in the tray quickly solidified. Mu Bei picked up a knife and began to cut it into small pieces for easy later storage.

Rong took a piece from the side, put it in his mouth and said, "It's too sweet." Then he picked up a jar of candy and went to find Eminem to share it.

Mu Bei shouted in the house: "My sister will go and give Wu a can, and then go to the training ground." Mu Bei felt that he had drunk a belly full of ferocious beast blood, and his strength had increased a lot. He prepared to go to the training ground to try how much it had increased.

The only entertainment in the tribe is to practice martial arts non-stop. When they are tired, they lie down to rest, and then continue practicing. This is also the daily habit of every member of the tribe.

Mu Bei wrapped the beast core in animal skin and hung it on his chest, then began to practice. When his body was tired, the beast core would emit energy to nourish his body. In this way, Mu Bei practiced tirelessly until Rong came over and called him for dinner.

Before going to bed at night, Mu Bei checked the beast core and found that it was smaller. Mu Bei was extremely excited, which meant that as long as it was energy, he could absorb it and transform it into power. Mu Bei clenched his fists tightly. This feeling of being full of power was really great.

He had originally planned to exercise in the morning, but the leader and his men blocked the door directly. Mu Bei had no choice but to pick up the stone spear to lead the way for the leader.

The chief smiled and said, "If you hadn't asked Rong Weiwu to deliver the dried candy yesterday, we wouldn't have had to go so early today."

"I didn't think too much about it at the time. I just felt that after the sugar was cooked, it should be sent to the witch." Mu Bei said helplessly.

The leader smiled and said, "You are pretty good, boy."

After saying that, he patted Mu Bei's shoulder. Mu Bei felt his whole shoulder go numb instantly, and Mu Bei's mind was instantly awakened. During this period of time, as his strength increased, he began to swell. If it weren't for the leader's slap to wake him up, he would probably challenge a more powerful beast. Thinking of this, he broke out in a cold sweat.

The slap from the leader made Mu Bei realize the reality. This was a primeval forest where countless ferocious beasts hid. Even the leader was not strong enough to enter the forest alone, let alone he was just a rookie.

The leader noticed that Mu Bei looked unhappy and asked with concern, "Are you okay, Bei?"

A member of the accompanying hunting team whispered, "Bei might be a little afraid of getting lost again."

The other members were holding back their laughter. The hunting team was not allowed to speak loudly when entering the forest, otherwise the hunters would instantly become prey. Fortunately, this place was close to the tribe, and the ferocious beasts nearby were often eliminated.

One of the hunting team members, He, asked quietly, "Bei, you usually hang out around here, have you ever eaten jumping fruit?"

Mu Bei asked quietly, "What is a jumping fruit?" He smiled softly and said, "It's a red fruit that will jump non-stop when it falls to the ground."

"I haven't paid attention to this area, so there shouldn't be any. Normally, I don't dare to go too far away from the tribe. I just wander around." Mu Bei said.

He smiled and said, "I'll give you one next time I have a chance. It tastes really good."

The crowd silently shuttled through the deep forest and soon came to a sugarcane forest. When they saw the sugarcane forest, they were also stunned. The reason was that there were too many. There were only a dozen people in the hunting team this time, so it was basically impossible to carry them all at once.

The leader suddenly shouted softly, "Don't move, look ahead." A group of free-range chicken chicks were in the sugarcane forest. The leader whispered, "There may be a group of free-range chickens here. Everyone, spread out and surround them. The meat of free-range chickens is very delicious. Don't let them run away."

Sure enough, the leader's judgment was correct. A total of thirteen free-range chickens were killed. The small free-range chickens were not killed. Two team members went to deal with the free-range chickens, and the other teammates cut sugarcane. Years of cooperation have made these team members cooperate very well. Everyone quickly packed up and prepared to return.

Suddenly one of the team members whispered, "Don't move," and then he saw this team member constantly signing in sign language. Of course Mu Bei knew how to do it, as these things were compulsory courses when he was young.

The team member gestured to mean that a fierce beast had appeared in front of them. It was over 30 meters long, and its horns were thick enough for two adults to hold together. Everyone was shocked. This was the same level as a high-level totem warrior. If a high-level totem warrior fought against the two-horned python alone, it would basically be over.

The leader gestured to everyone to stay where they were. However, things did not go as planned, and the two-horned python swam towards them.

The leader gestured, ready to do it. Mu Bei tightly grasped the spear in his hand. The atmosphere was very tense. Mu Bei looked at everyone and found that they seemed to have long been accustomed to this sudden crisis. Mu Bei still had not adapted to this state, and it might take time to adjust.

The leader took the lead in launching the attack, and the stone spear in his hand quickly struck out. They cooperated very well, the leader attracted the firepower while the others were responsible for the attack, and the team members' spear attacks did not penetrate the body of the two-horned python, and the scales of the two-horned python only created sparks.

After the attack, everyone immediately jumped away. The double-horned python's tail swept across, and the big tree next to it broke. Everyone was very familiar with the double-horned python and should have been accustomed to its attack method. The leader attracted the attention of the one-horned python in front, and everyone behind looked for opportunities to attack.

The one-horned python's defense was too high. Only the leader was a high-level totem warrior, and the rest were either intermediate or elementary. It was difficult to cause substantial damage to the two-horned python. Mu Bei also attacked several times, but couldn't break the defense at all.

Mu Bei stood aside and thought for a while and said to himself: "This won't work. We have to find a way."

If you want to cause damage you have to attack a certain point, which is impossible now. It is difficult for everyone to attack a scale. There is only the mouth without any scales, so you have to throw the spear into the mouth.

Mu Bei shouted to the leader: "Everyone, throw your spears into the mouth of the double-horned python. It's hard to hurt it if we attack like this."

The leader dodged the attack of the two-horned python and shouted: "Everyone listen to Bei's command." Everyone gathered quickly, and the leader led the two-horned python towards the crowd.

Mu Bei shouted, "Get ready." The leader dodged the two-horned python's attack. Mu Bei shouted, "Shoot." More than a dozen spears shot out instantly, piercing the two-horned python's open mouth. Everyone heard a crisp collision sound, which should be the sound of the two-horned python's teeth hitting it. Several spears went straight through the python's head and seven inches from its mouth, and the rest probably shot into the python's stomach.
