Chapter 1 - Prologue: was this ...the end?

...

He sees it—every single blade that man creates.

He doesn't need to think. He just needs to repeat what he does.

BOOM!

Their traced swords clash. One is a massive blade, the other just a small knife. It's a pure rain of swords. Neither drains mana—because they don't forge these weapons…they imagine them.

-

he stops..

"i just want to ask you something," the man, wearing a red coat.. having the lifeless gray eyes, paired with what seems to be white hair. there's nothing that he holds in his hand—there is no need to. at least, not yet.

"are you really wanted to become the hero of justice"

sharp.. very sharp answer.

hehimself answer it.

"why you even asking it now.."

"i don't wanted to become heroes of justice,"

he dash towards himself. equipped with two unknown swords—some might say they represent ying and yang. very aggressive, very forceful. even the ground moves with such a move.

"i will definitely become one!" he slash one of the swords towards himself..

he dodge it, nearly without effort.

he is standing, side by side with himself..

having an opposite gaze with himself.

'its that so"

he finally give himself a sword—nothing special. just a normal...

unknown twin sword.. again.

"Splat"

he stab himself. on the leg, right leg, when his sword can reach it.

he screaming on the ground, agonized pain. blood spilled on a sword..

on the land of sword.

Unlimited sword.

..

Irony, after all of this. it doesn't take long before the boy realize it himself.

The only thing stopping something he needs to be...

is himself.

"It's normal for a child to idolize their parent. It's normal," Archer continued.

"But when that parent dies… a curse is automatically implanted on that child."

A flash of memory—Kiritsugu's dying moments. Sitting alone beneath the moonlight, his face empty, almost at peace.

That image burns itself into both Shirou and Archer.

"And in that very moment… you have no choice but to become a hero.

Not because it's noble.

Not because it's right.

But because it's all you know how to do."

He pauses.

"The ideals you rejoice in… they're nothing more than secondhand.

Inherited, not chosen."

"At the end, you're merely imitating what he believed was right."

"No," Shirou said, trying to stand back up, even as his legs trembled.

"Hero of justice? …Tch. Don't make me laugh.Just because the ideals consume you doesn't mean they're something you truly wanted."

Archer had heard enough. There was no need to prolong this conversation with his naïve self any longer.

In an instant, he struck.

A clean, merciful blow—too fast for the boy to react.Shirou died instantly.

Archer couldn't change the past. But at the very least… he could give his younger self something better.A painless death.A fate without the burden of becoming him.

-

the end ...
