Chapter 14 - A MOMENT OF TENDERNESS

Liam sat beside Allison's hospital bed, a tray of food in front of him. He had brought her favourite breakfast - scrambled eggs, toast, and fresh fruit.

"Come on, Allison, you have to eat something," Liam said, trying to coax her into taking a bite.

Allison smiled weakly, her eyes still sunken from the previous day's ordeal. "I'm not hungry, Liam," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Liam's face fell, but he didn't give up. He picked up a spoon and began to feed Allison, one small bite at a time. At first, she resisted, but eventually, she began to eat, her eyes locked on Liam's.

As they sat there, Liam felt a sense of tenderness wash over him. He had never felt this way about anyone before, and it scared him. But at the same time, it felt right.

After finishing the meal, Liam helped Allison settle back into bed. "I have to go to school," he said, reluctantly standing up.

Allison nodded, her eyes already closing. "Be careful," she whispered.

Liam smiled, leaning over to kiss her forehead. "I will," he said.

As he walked out of the hospital room, Liam felt a sense of determination. He was going to make sure Allison gets better quickly.

A few minutes later,

At school, Liam was greeted with the usual chaos. Students were rushing to their lockers, chatting with friends, and scrambling to get to their first-period classes.

Liam made his way to his locker, exchanging nods with friends along the way. As he opened his locker door, he was surprised to see a notice taped to the inside.

"Examinations will begin next week," the notice read.

Liam's heart sank. He had completely forgotten about the exams. He was going to have to study hard if he wanted to pass.

As he made his way to his first-period class, Liam couldn't shake the feeling of unease. The exams were just another thing to worry about, on top of everything else that was going on.

But Liam was determined to stay focused. He was going to pass those exams, no matter what. And he was going to take care of Allison, too.

The day went by in a blur, Liam attending classes and taking notes. But his mind kept wandering back to Allison, and the exams, and everything else that was going on.

As the final bell rang, Liam let out a sigh of relief. He had made it through the day.

But as he walked out of the school building, Liam couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He looked around, but everything seemed normal.

Still, the feeling persisted.

And then, just as Liam was about to walk away, he saw something that made his heart skip a beat.

A black car, parked across the street.

Liam's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities.

Was Sophia behind this?

Or was it someone else entirely?

Liam didn't know, but he was determined to find out...

Liam's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. Then, he saw the driver's face as he got out of the car.

It was his father's chauffeur.

Liam's heart sank, and he knew that his father was behind this.

Just then, the chauffeur got out of the car and opened the back door. Reginald stepped out, with his face stern and unyielding.

Liam's instincts told him to run, but his legs felt heavy. He was frozen in place, watching as his father walked towards the school building.

What was he doing here?

Liam didn't have to wait long to find out. His father walked into the principal's office, and a few minutes later, the principal came out, looking frazzled.

"Liam Spencer, please come to my office," the principal called out.

Liam's heart sank, and he knew that his father was up to no good. He walked into the principal's office, with his father already seated in one of the chairs.

"Liam, your father has come to see me about Allison," the principal said. With his voice stern immediately, he entered

Liam's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. "What about her?" he asked.

Reginald stood up, his face red with anger. "I want her rusticated," he spat out. "I want her scholarship broken."

The principal shook his head. "I'm afraid that's not possible, Mr. Spencer. Allison is a final-year student, and she has done nothing to warrant rustication."

Reginald's face turned purple with rage. "You don't understand," he shouted. "Allison is a bad influence on my son. She's distracting him from his studies."

The principal stood up, his face firm.

"I understand that you're concerned about your son's well-being, Mr. Spencer. But rusticating Allison is not the solution. Besides, it's beyond my power to do so."

Reginald's face fell, and he looked like he had been defeated. But Liam knew that his father was not one to give up easily.

Reginald's face turned red with anger.

"You're making a big mistake, Principal," he spat out. "I'll make sure you regret this."

The principal stood firm, his face unyielding.

"I'm just doing my job, Mr. Spencer. And that's to ensure that all students, including Allison, receive a fair education."

Reginald's eyes narrowed, with his face twisted in a scowl. "You're just a foolish old man," he sneered. "You don't know what's good for you."

Liam felt a surge of anger at his father's words. How dare he speak to the principal like that?

"Father, stop," Liam said, his voice firm. "You're not going to bully the principal into doing what you want."

Reginald's eyes flashed with anger, but he said nothing. Instead, he turned on his heel and stormed out of the office.

The principal let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Liam," he said. "I appreciate your support."

Liam nodded. "It's no problem, sir," he said. "I just don't want my father bullying you into doing something that's not right."

The principal smiled. "You're a good kid, Liam," he said. "I'm glad you're standing up for what's right."

Liam felt a surge of pride at the principal's words. He knew he had done the right thing.

As he left the office, Liam couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew his father was not going to give up easily. He was going to keep fighting to get Allison rusticated.

But Liam was determined to stop him. He was going to do everything in his power to protect Allison.

As he walked back to his classroom, Liam felt a sense of determination. He was going to fight for what was right, no matter what.

Meanwhile, Allison was sitting in her hospital bed, feeling bored and restless. She had been stuck in the hospital for just two days, and she was starting to feel like she was going stir-crazy.

Just then, the door to her room opened, and a nurse walked in. "Allison, you have a visitor," she said.

Allison's heart skipped a beat as she wondered who it could be. She hoped it was Liam.

But as the nurse stepped aside, Allison's heart sank. It was Sophia.

Sophia smiled sweetly as she walked into the room. "Hey, Allison," she said. "I heard you were in the hospital, and I just had to come visit."

Allison's eyes narrowed. She didn't trust Sophia one bit.

"What do you want, Sophia?" Allison asked bluntly.

Sophia's smile faltered for a moment, but then she recovered. "I just wanted to see how you're doing," she said. "And to apologize for what happened the other day."

Allison raised an eyebrow. "Apologize?" she repeated. "You're the one who's been trying to ruin my life."

Sophia's eyes flashed with anger, but then she seemed to regain control of herself. "I'm sorry, Allison," she said. "I really am. And I want to make it up to you."

Allison snorted. "You're not sorry," she said. "You're just trying to manipulate me."

Sophia's face fell, and for a moment, Allison saw a glimmer of something else in her eyes. Something almost like sadness.

But then Sophia's mask slipped back into place, and she smiled again. "Whatever, Allison," she said. "I'll just leave you alone then."

And with that, Sophia turned and walked out of the room, leaving Allison feeling confused and uneasy...

As the day went on, Allison couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She kept thinking about Sophia's visit and the way she had seemed almost... sad.

Allison didn't know what to make of it. She had always thought of Sophia as her enemy, but now she was starting to wonder if there was more to Sophia's story...

Meanwhile, Liam was sitting in class, trying to focus on the lesson. But his mind kept wandering back to Allison, and the way his father had tried to get her rusticated.

As the day went on, Liam found himself growing more and more anxious. He kept thinking about his father's threats and the way Sophia had seemed so smug and self-satisfied...

Liam didn't know what was going on, but he knew he had to be careful. He was going to have to watch his back and make sure Allison was safe..
