Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Future Flame Pillar

At this moment, Yohan and his companion were completely unaware of the consequences set in motion by the death of Lower Moon Three.

The Tokyo Prefecture Main District, which had been relatively calm, was now a place of unseen turmoil.

"Esteemed guests, we have now arrived at a town that is part of Tokyo Prefecture's Main District. I wish you a pleasant journey ahead."

Stepping out of the carriage, Yohan led Mitsuri down the bustling streets, searching for a place to stay.

"Yohan, are we planning to settle down in this town?" Mitsuri asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice.

Although she didn't fully understand his intentions, she had already made up her mind—wherever Yohan went, she would follow.

"Mitsuri, it's like this," Yohan explained. "The real reason I came to Tokyo Prefecture is to travel, to meet different people, and experience more things."

"We won't be settling in one place for too long. This town is just a temporary stop."

He shared part of his reasoning with her, including how he viewed his journey as a form of training to grow stronger. Of course, he left out any mention of the system—his greatest secret.

But one day, when he finally defeats Muzan Kibutsuji and brings true peace to this world, he will tell Mitsuri everything.

Mitsuri nodded, showing her understanding.

"Yohan, you don't have to explain everything to me so clearly."

"You should know that since I decided to come with you... it means I trust you completely."

As she spoke, her voice became softer, her face turning red. Then, suddenly, she turned her head away and blurted out, "Anyway! Whatever you decide is fine with me!"

Seeing her flustered expression, Yohan couldn't help but smile.

"Mitsuri, you're just too adorable."

That single sentence sent Mitsuri into a full panic. Already embarrassed by her own words, she let out a small scream before dashing ahead without looking back.

Yohan laughed heartily.

He truly felt blessed to have met someone like her.

"Sir, this house will be rented to you for now. Here is the key—please take good care of it."

After wandering around town for a while, Yohan and Mitsuri finally decided on a house slightly away from the town center.

Not only did they both enjoy peace and quiet, but there was also another simple reason—their budget was tight.

Yohan, being a lone traveler, had no savings to speak of. As for Mitsuri, she had already given up everything to follow him. It wasn't like he could rely on her to support them.

Now that he thought about it, he was basically broke.

Yohan rubbed his temples in frustration. His combat abilities were top-notch, sure, but when it came to making money? That was an entirely different matter.

What were his strengths?

High stamina? Thick skin?

Wouldn't that just make him an ideal laborer?

No way! He was a transmigrator—he couldn't just work in construction!

There had to be another way.

"System! System!" he called out in his mind, desperate for ideas.

After all, whenever there was a problem, consulting the system was the obvious choice.

But the system saw right through his intentions and responded coldly.

[This system does not provide methods for earning money.]

[This system only cultivates top-tier defenders. It does not train workers.]

[Host, please refrain from unreasonable requests.]

Yohan sighed. He finally understood—this system was completely useless for anything other than defense.

He was on his own.

"Yohan! Yohan!" Mitsuri's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

She pouted, rubbing her stomach.

Seeing her expression, Yohan immediately understood.

"Got it! Let's go grab something to eat."

"How about ramen tonight?"

"Yay!" Mitsuri cheered, waving her hands excitedly before hurrying to his side.

They strolled down the street until they reached a ramen shop they had noticed earlier.

As soon as they opened the door—

"Delicious!"

"So good! So good! So good!"

Before the scent of ramen even fully hit them, an energetic, booming voice filled the air.

The voice's owner had striking golden hair, with red streaks running through the ends.

Unbothered by his surroundings, the young man was completely focused on his food, slurping up noodles at an impressive speed while continuously exclaiming his enjoyment.

"Yohan, do you know him?" Mitsuri asked, noticing how Yohan had hesitated at the entrance.

Rather than the man's odd behavior, she was more interested in Yohan's reaction.

Yohan's expression was complicated. The man before him was both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

After all, this was their first actual meeting.

Noticing that the man was still dressed in the brown uniform of the Demon Slayer Corps and had yet to don the flame-patterned haori, Yohan deduced that he had not yet officially inherited the title of Flame Hashira.

A small smile formed on Yohan's lips.

Turning to Mitsuri, he replied, "Mitsuri, I don't know him yet."

"But I will soon."

"That man over there—he is the future Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku."
