At Grimwood's School it is becoming morning as the ghouls began to awaken early to start their day only this
time their is a feeling of anticipation and excitement as it marks the first day with Lincoln as their new
classmate.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but I can't wait for classes to start, Awooo" Winnie howls excitedly as her tail wags
behind her.
"Shhh, Winnie I know your excited but Lincoln's probably still sleeping" Sibella tells the young werewolf but she
too can't wait.
"Shouldn't we go wake him up?" Asked Tanis as she carries Matches in her arms "I don't want him to be late for
breakfast"
"We should let him sleep a little longer" Elsa says as she steps out the bathroom, Ready for the day "He might
have stayed up late unpacking so we can wake him up once we're done, Plus it will let Gila walk around without
hiding behind us"
When she said that they all looked at their sea monster friend as she hurries into the bathroom, Looking around
to make sure Lincoln isn't around before closing the door.
"I see your point" Winnie stated, As they hope Gila will eventually get used to Lincoln, They continue to talk,
Excited for the day before they noticed the most energetic one among them is being uncharacteristically quiet.
"You ok Phantasma?" Tsuki asked the young ghost who is just...floating quietly with a big close smile on her face
as despite being unusually silent she seemed even happier then normal.
"Hm?, Oh I'm perfectly fine ghouls" Phantasma says cheerfully as she giggles a little. "It's just a really nice
morning is all"
Now the ghouls know something is up as they never seen Phantasma act like this before and the only one to
suspect what is was is Milly.
"Oh and are you saying it has nothing to do with you gifting the human those sucrose order lepidoptera desserts
last night?" Milly says only to see them all except Elsa had understand her, The only reason she didn't insult their
intelligence was because Tanis right next to her "Oh for the love of Tok, I'm talking about the cookies she gave
him"
"Oh" They said in unison except Elsa chuckles in her hand.
"Thanks Milly, your so smart" Tanis says as Milly just turns with a huff but you can tell her ego was stroked as she
is terrible at hiding how pleased she was by the compliment.
"Sooo" Winnie says as she looks at Phantasma with a hint of mischief in her eyes "Phanty is just really glad that
Lincoln liked the cookies she baked for him, huh?"
Phantasma blushes as she gives the Martian a pleading look but sadly Milly believes herself to be above such
things.
"That would be the correct assumption" Milly confirmed which causes Phantasma's face to fall and Winnie's grin
to grow.
"Oh leave her be Winnie" Tsuki says but her eyes also have a mischievous gleam "Where all glad that he liked
them so let her be happy that her crush liked her baking"
Sibella frowns slightly as she raises an eyebrow at Phantasma, who's face completely turns blue as she blushes
"C-crush?!...I-I don't...he's not..." Phantasma splutters over her words before making a huff with her arms
crossed "He's not my crush, he's just a friend to me like he is to all of you"
"Uh huh, Sure" Winnie says, still grinning But to Phantasma's relief Gila gets out and rushes down stares after
making sure that Lincoln wasn't around.
"Oh would you look at that, we're all done" Phantasma says quickly as she flies away fast just to get away from
this conversation "I'll go wake up Lincoln"
Sadly this only further amuses them besides Sibella who purses her lips in deep thought.
"Does Phantasma have a crush on Lincoln?" Sibella thinks it does seem like she is more towards him so could she?..."
"She is normally a ff ectionate to those close to her but
Sibella shakes her head slightly as if trying to get rid of those thoughts "No i'm just over thinking it, He's our first
human friend that just so happens to be a boy...The first one to get to know us without any fear and treats us
fairly and is kind and caring so we're all rather fond of him"
Sibella still has her doubt but before she could focus on them she noticed Phantasma flying back to them in a
rush looking panicked, The laughter of the others died down immediately.
"Is everything all right" Sibella asked in a concern tone, her doubts pushed to the far back of her mind "What's
the matter?, I thought you went to go wake up Lincoln?"
"Lincoln's gone!" Phantasma says in a slight panic voice
"What!?" The ghouls shouted, The loudest being Sibella, Elsa, Winnie and Tanis, remembering last year when
one of them went missing which was part of the 'Incident' that made Miss Grimwoog increase security.
"Should we get Miss Grimwood?" Tanis asked, hugging Matches tightly for comfort.
"Lets not get too hasty now" Sibella says calmly but is worried "Let's look around to see if he wandered off"
"Y-ya, maybe he got lost looking for the bathroom or the kitchen" Winnie offered hopefully "He is still new
around here, he could have also gotten lost in one of the hidden passages"
"Well whatever's the case we better start looking" Tsuki says determined as the ghouls started to look around.
Winnie tries to see if she can track where he is with smell but the only trail was from last night with no others
since then, Phantasma went floating through the walls and secret passages, calling out his name in worry.
Tanis who is accompanied by a reluctant Milly look through the garden to make sure he didn't get trapped in
one of the large carnivorous plants, Tsuki and Elsa decided to go room to room but each empty room increases
their anxiety and Sibella flew around in her bat form, Flying top to bottom as quickly as possible hoping to spot
him but with no sign of Lincoln, The Ghouls meet in the common room.
"I couldn't find his scent anywhere" Winnie says with a slight whine as her ears flopped
"I checked all the passages and secret rooms but he wasn't there either" Phantasma shared, her emotions
causing her form to flicker as she becomes more transparent.
"H-he's not in the garden either" Tanis said as she holds Matches for support
"No luck on our end either" Tsuki told them as she crouches lower, her own worry shown.
Sibella bites her lower lip lightly as she thinks on what their next steps "Ghouls, we should go get Miss
Grimwood"
"Get me for what?" Miss Grimwood asked as she enters the room followed by Gila who is behind her just in case
Lincoln was around "Why are you ghouls running around the place, you'll be late for breakfast and where is
Lincoln?"
"We're sorry Miss Grimwood but the reason for all of this is because of Lincoln" Sibella "We can't find Lincoln anywhere"
Informs Miss Grimwood
"What?" Miss Grimwood was shocked to hear the disappearance of one of her students even more then that a
new one, For a moment her mind when to the 'Incident' that took place last year"
"None of my enchantments or protective wards activated nor broken so it's impossible for anyone to have snuck
or sent anything after him" Miss Grimwood was disturbed and hopes that nothing has gone wrong "The only
way is if he had left the protection of the school on his own"
That answer didn't ease the ghouls worry, if he wasn't kidnapped then why would he leave?, They thought.
"Unless..." Everyone looks to see the little Mummy in tears "Unless he changed his mind and doesn't want to
stay here anymore"
They all go to comfort Tanis as they try to assure her that wasn't the reason, But now they themselves wonder if
that was the case.
"Oh Tanis I'm sure that's not the what happened" Miss Grimwood says as she pats Tanis's head soothingly "I
know for a fact that Lincoln really does wants to come here"
"R-really?" Tanis asked, He looks at him Grimwood who nodded.
"Yes, why it took him a whole month to be able to find a way to get his parents to agree to letting him come
here" Miss Grimwood said as she may not know what transpired but she knows that Lincoln used it to his
advantage to get them to sign the form.
That does ease their minds somewhat but the question remains on where could Lincoln be, Suddenly Winnie's
ears perked up as she hears the front door open and smells a familiar scent.
"Lincoln!" Winnie shouts as she rushes to the door, Leaving the others momentarily stunned at her sudden out
burst before following her, seeing Winnie jump at Lincoln and hugging him tightly, Lincoln was wearing a grey
open hoodie and black sweat shorts with orange accents and black running shoes.
"Winnie?" He startled by the Wolf girl's sudden action as she had ran at him in full force and her grip is strong,
Tanis also joins in as she hugs his leg just as tight as Winnie with small tears in her eyes.
The sight makes him both worried and protective as he starts eyeing the halberd again just in case "What
happened?, are you all-"
"Where were you!?" Phantasma shouts, cutting him off as she flouts over to him, In the short time he has known
her, he has never seen Phantasma so upset before. "Room empty!, No note!, No where to be seen!, Do you have
any idea how worried I was!?" a3
"I think she means we" Tsuki chimes in, Phantasma's cheeks turned blue for only a second before her stern look
comes back.
"That's what I meant- We were really worried about you!" Phantasma says getting back into her stride as she
starts looking over him to make sure he wasn't hurt anywhere.
"You were...worried about me?" Lincoln asked slowly, Lincoln feels an odd mix of guilt and slight joy, he was
guilty for making them worry about him but was slightly happy because it shows that they care about him
enough to worry.
"Well Duh!" Winnie says as her grip loosened.
"I was starting to think you left" Tanis admits looking up at him with watery eyes "I thought you didn't want to
be here anymore"
Now the guilt grew as he kneels down to wipe her teary eyes "Tanis, That could never happen as I want to stay
here with all my heart" he reassures the little mummy "Truth be told, it took me a whole month to try and find a
way to get my parents to sign"
His words, which matched with what Miss Grimwood said only moments before reassures them as they feel the
slight weight of worry being lifted of them.
"Really?" Tanis asked only for Lincoln to pick her up and give her a peck on the forehead.
"Really" Lincoln says as he puts the little mummy down who looks much happier.
"Well we are relieved that you are both safe and wish to remain" Says Miss Grimwood says, glad that nothing
happened to him but proceeds to put on a stern look "But I must ask where have you been?"
"Oh I just went to do my morning workout" Lincoln says simply as they gave him looks of surprise and
displeasure. "What?"
"So the reason we were worried out of our minds this morning was because you were doing some exercise?"
Sibella says with her arms crossed, the others mirrored her action as they were all upset that he didn't let
someone know. "It really scared us when Phantasma came flying at us at full speeds saying you were gone."
Speaking of Phantasma, She turns her head away with a huff, her arms crossed as she look very upset.
Lincoln sighs, Back in Royal Woods he got into the habit of waking up extra early to avoid his sisters so they
wouldn't spy on him and would usually come back after they had finished using the bathroom to get ready, he
never had to message his parents about it because they never really bothered to notice when he was gone most
of the time.
"I'm sorry" Lincoln tells them, The guilty tone in his voice and the way he says it shows his sincerity, Phantasma
turns her head back to face him, her anger crumbles instantly.
"It was a habit that I picked up and I did it without thinking, I should have told someone before I left" He says, As
the ghouls feel guilty for making him feel so guilty.
Phantasma groans "Stop, I'm suppose to be upset at you and I can't do that with you sounding so sincere and
guilty"
"Agreed" Winnie said as the other ghouls nodded
He tilts his head a little and chuckles slightly "Sorry"
"Stooooop..." Phantasma whines as she floated right in front of Lincoln and pokes him in the chest "No
apologies and no apologies for apologizing just...let someone know next time ok?, you really worried us"
Lincoln nodded with a small smile "Ok, I promise this won't happen again"
The ghouls all seemed to relax at that, Glad that not only does Lincoln want to stay but to also not suddenly
leave again.
"Good, because you nearly gave me a heart attack and vampires don't even get them." Sibella tells him.
Sorr-" Lincoln was about to apologize again but the pointed looks he got stopped him "Err...I mean...Am I late for
breakfast?"
"Nice save" "Winnie snorted, finding his weak attempt to change the subject amusing,
Miss Grimwood chuckles "Luckily you are not, Why don't you go take a shower and you can join us for breakfast
once your done."
"Ya cuz no offense but your really sweaty" Winnie pointed out.
"Oh?" Lincoln mused as he runs his hand through his sweaty hair "I guess I am"
It was at that moment Phantasma realized how close she is to Lincoln, The open part of his hoodie gives her a
front row view of his well toned chest and abs as his sweat was glistening off his midriff.
His hair seems to be slightly messy yet also natural as it does nothing to damper his good looks, only making
him more enticing by gives him an untamed look that seems captivating and with his slightly heavier breathing,
it makes Phantasma have very strange feelings stir inside her as her face practically turns midnight blue.
It wasn't just Phantasma who was effected; Sibella notices as well and blushed a deep indigo with her
eyes transfixed on the sight before her, Elsa also blushed but turned her head to avoid staring, Even Gila took a
few peaks from behind Miss Grimwood, her face was the same shade as an emerald though her glances when
unnoticed by most.
"Oh Dear, Well I suppose they are around that age " Miss Grimwood thought as she noticed the looks on a few of
her students "Though it might be a good idea to do some review lessons for the older ones from when they had
health class "
"The bathrooms free" Tsuki Informs him "We all finished this morning so hurry up or we might just eat all the
food" She says in a playful tone, making Lincoln chuckle softly.
"Sure I'll be quick" Lincoln then takes a step closer to Phantasma making her blush worse and her breath
hitched, The feeling inside her seems to be going wild as her hands twitched at her sides.
"S-So close, why is he getting so close!? " Phantasma shouted in her head, She swallows hard as he is so close to
her that his foot is in her shadow. "Too...close "
Phantasma's hands clenched, her lips quiver slightly in both nervousness and anticipation "T-this isn't
happening...This isn't happening " She repeats desperately in her mind, though she makes no move to stop it
"Excuse me" Lincoln says and before his words could register in her mind he disappears into her shadow,
Leaving her flushed, confused, embarrassed and with a new sensation that had built up inside of her.
"O...k that will take some getting used too" Tsuki stated, still not used to her friend being able to disappear into
a shadow. "Though it's still really cool."
"I know right" Winnie says, finding Lincoln's 'Skills' to be both strange and amazing "I hope he lets me travel
with him like that, It looks like so much fun"
Milly had recorded it and was playing back the video, Examining it closely "Hmm, it would be helpful to
experience it as the data could help with my research" Milly mutters to herself, Wondering what information
could come from experiencing it first hand.
Tanis notices that Phantasma is still in the same place practically frozen like a statue and goes over to her
"Phantasma, Are you ok?"
Phantasma snaps out of it "Oh I'm fine, Just surprised since I forgot Lincoln could do that" She says hiding her
relief and slight disappointment "I'm also glad that everything worked out"
"Me too" Tanis says as she is glad that Lincoln really is staying.
While they continue to talk and head over to them dinning room, Sibella's lips pursed together tightly as she had
seen Phantasma's reactions towards Lincoln as her earlier thoughts came back to mind.
(Lincoln's POV)
"Good job Lincoln " I thought sarcastically, Mentally scolding myself as I start the shower "Great first day, You
made them worry before breakfast "
But I needed to clear my head because today isn't just my first day but it's also the first time my sisters will have
to deal with getting ready without my help so despite me hoping for them to suffer a little, I'm worried about
Lucy, Lana, Lisa and Lily.
I take off my clothes and step into the shower and under the shower head, I close my eyes and let the steam of
water run down my body while taking some deep breaths.
"They'll be fine" I mutter to myself as I take my own soap out of my
myself to have faith in them and relax as I know my friends will also check up on them.
I look at my freshly unbandaged arms to stare at the new scars that littered them, Some from training and
others from saving Lana from the Gators that escaped. Thankfully they weren't too noticeable unless your
paying attention to them and I usually wear my jacket so the long sleeves cover most of them.
I take a deep breath, letting the scent of the soap calm my nerves as I quickly finish my shower.
After drying up and getting changed in my usual attire I made my way to the dinning area to join the ghouls for
breakfast, Seeing them puts a smile on my face.
Even If Gila decided that she'll eat underneath the table.
"Glad you can finally join us" Tsuki says as I enter, giving me a friendly smile that I return"
"Me too, cuz' I'm starving" I said, as my stomach rumbles in agreemen
"You do sound famished so why don't you hurry and eat" Sibella says as she pats the seat next to her that I
gladly excepted. I tilted my head as I notice what looks like a plate of blueberry pancakes and grab one.
"Oh you'll love the newt eye pancakes" Elsa says as she takes a bite of her own
"Newt eyes!? " I thought, surprised and a little hesitant but decided to take a bite, It tasted both salty and savory
and the texture of the eyes were jelly like. "Oh?"
"Not what you were expecting?" Winnie asked as she handed him a regular bottle of syrup, Which was a surprise
to be honest.
"Ya, I have to say I'm impress" I admit as I tried a bit of everything just for the heck of it to see what I'd Like or
dislike, I loaded up my plate and begin to eat and the amount I was eating was a lot.
"Geez Link" Winnie gasped as she looks at my plate "I know you must have worked up an appetite but that's
almost as much two and a half whole servings."
oh, i guess I should explain that" I muttered, As I guess I should mention my eating habit "I forgot to mention
last time that due to my growth and with the energy needed to use skills, I began to eat more."
Milly begins to take notes on this of her tablet, Documenting any information she could from him "Hmm and
what would your daily intake on calories be?, Even if you had to give a rough estimation"
I stop to think for a moment on that as I rack my brain for the best possible answer "I would say around
about...8,000 Calories on average" I said honestly only for them to look at me with wide eyes.
"Wow, really?" Tsuki says semi impressed, It's not as much as her but it's still a lot.
"Huh just like Scooby and Shaggy" Winnie mutters as the ghouls from last year remembers how much their
coaches ate. a2
The Ghouls sighs as they must miss them deeply as Miss Grimwood makes a mental note of Lincoln's diet.
Milly seems to be typing fast on her tablet "Hmm, That's only with Calories, If your diet consists of roughly 8,000
calories then you'd need roughly 4,000 grams of protein per day" Milly begins to mutter out loud "For best
results your diet and what is available on this planet should be poultry, Meat, nuts and seafoods such as Salmon
for it's high amount of omega-3 fatty acids"
"EEK!?"

Everyone jumped as the screech and loud thud that happened from under the table as Gila tenderly rubs the
top of her head where she had hit the table. Many shot a glare at the little Martian who shrugs her shoulders
with an indifferent look.
"I can says for certain that I'll be going on a non-fish diet for the duration of my stay" I said, hoping to reassure
Gila that I won't eat her.
The only response I got was a soft whimper though for a second I thought I heard a voice mutter "I'm not fat" a6

After Breakfast Lincoln follows the ghouls to their first class; Monster studies, He's seated between Sibella and
Elsa, as Miss Grimwood begins the lesson.
"Now Before we begin the lesson I would like each of you girls to come up and explain more about your
individual species so we can help catch Lincoln up a little, Just some general knowledge and answer any
questions he might have" Miss Grimwood explains, also using this as an opportunity to let Lincoln learn more
about them.
"Oh, oh I'll go first" Winnie exclaims while waving her hand in the air excitedly, Upon receiving a nod From Miss
Grimwood did Winnie jump out her seat and run to the front of the class.
"Well obviously I'm a werewolf" Winnie says "We hunt at night and howl at the moon and all that"
Lincoln opens his note book and begins to make a section for werewolves "I never really ask but since it's day
and your still a werewolf, does that mean the transforming durning the moon myth is false?"
Winnie nodded rapidly "The moon doesn't make us transform, it does give us strength but it depends on the
phase of the moon, Also being bitten by a werewolf during the full moon won't turn a human into a werewolf it
can only happen if they have even the slightest bit of werewolf in their linage and it doesn't happen because of
a bite but being near a werewolf during a full moon"
"So like a full moon is when your at your strongest and a new moon is at your weakest?" He asked as Winnie
nodded "By how much is the change in strength?"
"Well...During a new moon our strength would be the same if we were a normal human and the waxing phases
only have a different rate of increase and the opposite for the waning phases" Winnie explained as best she
could.
"So do Werewolves do a pack?" he asked, He never thought he could enjoy a class so much already but it was all
actually interesting to him.
"Kind off" Winnie answers with a so and so gesture "In the old days werewolves would travel in packs and there
are still some today but most of the time it's a community of connections, we know who is in the pact and who's
rank is who's but we don't really need to be in such a big group until a gathering"
"Ranks?, Are the ranks like Alpha, beta and gamma? " Lincoln questioned, When he received a nod he asked "So
how does that work?"
"Well once a werewolf turns 15 they get to enter the ranks, you can go higher up by either how you contribute to
the pack or by challenging someone with a higher rank" Winnie explained before puffing out her chest. "My dad
is actually the Alpha and is due to both and is highly respected, Even a Majority of the other Alphas hold him in
high regard though they don't voice it out loud."
"So you have to wait 5 more years before you can enter the ranks?" Lincoln stated as Winnie sighs longingly.
"Yep...5 more years" Winnie was daydreaming about the she would no longer be considered a pup, She'd be a
proud member of the pack, She'd follow after her Dad's footsteps by climbing the ranks and being the best
Alpha.
After a few more questions Winnie sat down as Tanis goes next.
"Well I'm a mummy and as a Mummy I can control my Bandages" Tanis demonstrates by making one of the
bandaged ends uncoil and making it flick back and forth. "And as an Egyptian Mummy I can make sandstorms
when I'm older"
"Egyptian Mummy?, So their are more then one type?" Lincoln asked as Tanis nodded and Begins to explain
how different regions and Religions have different Mummies each with different branches of power.
"My Mummy Daddy promised to teach me to make sandstorms like he does" Tanis says with glee as she always
has fun making sand castles when her Mummy Daddy likes to show off. "Mummies can conjure ancient curses
far easier then other monsters".
Lincoln writes all this down while Miss Grimwood has a smile, Pleased that he is already showing to take his
education seriously.
"If I had only met Lincoln much sooner I would have given him the o ff er long ago" Miss Grimwood thinks as she
sees how the ghouls were eager to answer his questions or add additional info to help with his notes "It's also
nice to see the girls being so active and happily ready to help him"
Miss Grimwood frowns slightly as she still feels something is off "Maybe I can move our talk to a ft er class, I do
need to work out a few more things with him for his record at his old school to be transferred over"
Miss Grimwood moves those thoughts aside as she focuses back on her students as it's Elsa's turn.
"Well technically I would be classified as a Simulacrum but everyone just calls us a Frankenstein" Elsa explains
"It used to drives my Dad crazy that people call us all by my uncle's name"
Lincoln can see how annoying it must have been to be mistaken for your twin, Lola and Lana were the same way
when they were younger before they began to dress differently
"So they were made...er born at the same time?" Lincoln asked, quickly switching to not be offended but Elsa
waves it off with an amused look.
"It's fine Lincoln as we were made and the answer is yes but not in the way most people think" Elsa says as she
begins to explain "Originally it was my Uncle who was going to be the only one but my grandfather; Dr
Frankenstein had made a second body just incase the first didn't work."
"Which was your dad" Lincoln said while he is writes a separate side section for her families history as Elsa
nodded her head.
"Yep, but the lightning that hit my uncle arced and also hit my dad, bringing them both to life" Elsa says as
Lincoln adopts a thinking pose with his hand on his chin.
"Wow, two lives ignited by the same spark, Isn't that shocking" Lincoln says accidentally doing a pun but it was
too late as Phantasma starts cackling.
'God Damn Luan finally rubbed o ff on me!' Lincoln thought with a groan but the sound of Phantasma laughing
makes him smile.
"Ha ha Very Funny" Elsa mock laughs while rolling her eyes playfully, She goes to Miss Grimwood's desk and lifts
it over her head with one hand. "Another thing to know Is that everyone in my Family is really strong, I could lift
a boulder four times my size"
Elsa would be lying if she says that she wasn't pleased to see him looking at her with awe, it was nice rather then
the distrustful looks that she was used too or the more recent lecherous gazes thrown her way.
"So can you take off parts of your body and if so can you control them?" He asked as he had seen shows and
read some novels where monsters like Elsa could do that with their stitches.
Elsa puts the desk down before answering "Well I could but I don't have control of my limbs since their not really
connected to my head for my brain to send signals to them so I made sure that my stitches won't come undone
easily"
Lincoln has a thoughtfully look as he makes sure to underline that while in deep thought "So if something could
let her sent signals from afar then maybe..." Lincoln decides to save that for another day while Elsa returns to
her seat.
It was Phantasma's turn now, who floats over to the front with what seems to be more energy then usual and
that was saying a lot.
"Well I think its quite clear to you that I'm a ghost" Phantasma cackles doing a quick loop in the air "A ghost is
the soul of a person bound to the mortal plane"
Lincoln was about to ask a question but hesitates although Phantasma just smiles
"I know you what you were going to ask and its ok Lincoln" Phantasma says reassuringly
"Ok then, is it true about the reason being bound is from having unfinished business when you...die?" He asked,
This was the first time he thought about it and now feels deep regret by bringing it.
"Well Lincoln for your information then sometimes but only when the desire is very strong but it can even
happen for no reason" Phantasma answers and seeing his downcast expression before adding "And don't feel
bad for bringing it up...I was actually born a ghost."
Lincoln sighs in relief as he didn't want to think about the possibility that someone close to him had died,
Especially someone so kind and 'spirited' like Phantasma.
Lincoln then mentally groans at having done another pun in his head 'seriously!?What is wrong with me
today!?, I'm just glad Luan will never know about this.'
Lincoln shakes his head to get back on track "I never knew ghosts can be born"
"Well its an extremely rare case, Even I don't know how It happened and my dad doesn't like talking about it cuz
it brings up my mom" Phantasma admits as Lincoln sees that its a touchy subject amd decides to to not pry
further.
"So I already know you can fly and can be intangible but can ghosts really posses people?" Lincoln asked as
Phantasma's smile brightens.
"Yep, Ghosts can posses people but I haven't learned possession yet but my dad is planning to teach me once
my empathy ability gets stronger" Phantasma answered but sees Lincoln's confused expression "Ethereal
beings such as ghosts are able to read a person's emotions as it will allow us to better understand their soul to
make possession possible, I'm still ify and can read most positive emotions but not negative yet."
"Well I'm sure your going to get the hang of it and will be possessing in no time" Lincoln says encouragingly
making Phantasma beam as she floats back to her seat, seemingly even happier.
"Well I guess it's my turn but I'll just stay in my spot for Gila" Tsuki says as Gila has been sitting on the other side
of Tsuki away from Lincoln. "So as you already know is that I'm a Kaiju, each Kaiju is different so I'll just explain
my type, ok?"
Lincoln nodded so Tsuki continues "Well since I take after my dad I have the same abilities as him, strong scales,
sharpe teeth and claws and I'm really great in the water though since I'm still young my scales aren't as tough
though."
Lincoln writes all this down on a new page as a sudden thought came to him "Can you do the Atomic breath that
your dad does?" He asked as Tsuki shakes her head and breathes a small puff of fire.
"No because I'm too young for that as well but I can breath fire and since my scales don't have that much
armour like my Dad's that lets me move faster in the water than him as well but other than that, their isn't much
I can say." Tsuki says a little disappointed that she can't say much as Lincoln pauses in his writing.
Lincoln was sure their was more, call it a feeling but he still decides to leave a few pages blank just in case and
smiles at Tsuki.
"Sorede jūbundesu, Arigatō Tsuki (That's more then enough, Thanks Tsuki)" Lincoln thanks Tsuki in Japanese,
making Tsuki perk up.
"Anata ga nihongo o hanaseru koto o wasurete imashita (I forgot you can speak Japanese)" Tsuki exclaimed in
Japanese "Anata wa zenkai, sukoshi shika shiranai to itte imashitaga, totemo ryūchō ni hanashimasu (you said
last time you only know a little but you speak very fluent)
Lincoln looks scratches the back of his head looking bashful "Arigatō, shōnin sa rete ureshī (thanks, glad to have
the approval)" a3
Winnie Groans as Lincoln and Tsuki continues talking in Japanese, leaving the others out the conversation "It's
happening again"
Miss Grimwood clears her throat loudly to get their attention with an amused smile "While I'm pleased to see my
students getting along so well but class talk is for everyone to learn so can we please switch back to English
dears"
Both Lincoln and Tsuki look embarrassed as Tsuki lets out a small chuckle "He, he, just telling Lincoln how good he was at speaking Japanese"

"That would explain his bashful reaction" Miss Grimwood chuckles "Reminds me of Albert, He could fight tooth
and nail with a smile on his face but the moment he gets a compliment is when he practically caves in on
himself"
Lincoln chuckles nervously at that 'Maybe I should call Pop-Pop and ask him about his interactions with the
ghouls parents'
"Yes, yes this is all very amusing" Milly says with little interest as she already knows all of this and doesn't like
having to go over it for some human male as she gets up and hands him what looks to be a very advanced
flashdrive.
"It will take far too much time to verbally inform you of my species so while the others waisted their time I've
prepared data storage similar to your species 'Flash drives' for you too look over" Milly then walks back to her
seat while muttering "If your primitive technology can even adapted to it"
"Um...Thanks?" While a Majority of the ghouls glared at the little Martian, Lincoln just sees more similarities
between her and Lisa.
Miss Grimwood sighs "Alright, Gila would you like speak?"
Gila for her part did try to peak but the moment she feels his eyes on her does she let out a squeal and further
hide.
Lincoln looks at Gila with concern but quickly puts on a small smile "Would it be alright for you to write it down
later and have one of the others hand it to me when your done" He offers, speaking slowly and calmly as Gila
peaks her head out and gives a subtle nod before hiding again.
"Well then..." Sibela gets up from her seat turns into a bat and flies to the front of the class before turning back,
pleased with seeing Lincoln's awe expression. "I believe it's my turn so ask away"
"Well...I was wondering about how I've seen you in the sun and at breakfast you didn't drink any blood" Lincoln
pointed out as it seems very different from all the myths about vampires "So are all those myths false?"
"Well not exactly...As a young vampire I don't have to drink blood until I am older and younger vampires usually
go through a frenzy" Sibella explains " As for the sun; Before it was just the royal family that was immune but
eventually their was a way to fix that"
Lincoln looked up from his notes intrigued "Wait really? That was possible?"
Sibella smiles in amusement "Apparently so, it was about nearly 80 years ago when a very powerful witch
revealed her findings and according to my Dad it turned the whole vampiric community on their heads" Sibella
explained gad that she never had to learn to fear the day like all the older vampires "From the beginning of
vampires had to fear the day but now it's not a problem with only a single shot every 5 years."
Lincoln writes all this down and can only imagine how shocking it must have been for vampires to have their
greatest weaknesses for centuries that they learn to fear easily delt with by a needle
"So since their is a royal family, I'm guessing that its true that vampires still follow the old ways" Lincoln while
already expecting for most movies and myths to have gotten things wrong, he was sure of this since Sibella's
father is COUNT Dracula.
"Your are correct...Vampires still hold tradition in high regards but we have also adapted as instead of feasting
on humans we have set up a steady chain of blood from hospitals and blood banks" Sibella informed him as it
draws less attention to vampires .
"Huh?" Lincoln makes a mental note to check the the recorded data for blood storage supplies around Royal
Woods.
The rest of the conversation progressed with a few more questions before Sibella walks back to her desk,
though not before brushing slightly against him causing Lincoln to be momentarily flustered before he shakes it
off.
Though it was that slight moment that Sibella was pleased with as Phantasma looks over at the interaction
feeling a bit uneasy.
"Well Girls *Cough* I mean- class" Miss Grimwood corrected "I'm very pleased with to see many of you already
working so well and with our new student, though I knew that their wasn't anything to fear"
A majority of the ghouls all felt pleased with themselves as they want to make sure that Lincoln has a good first
day, They already know that he wants to stay but its to give them peace of mind if they know they've done well
to keep him there with them.
"Now Girls I would like for you all to get ready for gym class and get started on your warm ups" Miss Grimwood
inform the girls before looking at Lincoln "As for you Lincoln, their are some things I need to talk with you about
your transfer as well as about your previous school records"
"Of course Miss Grimwood" Lincoln says while putting his notes away.
They all left the class before splitting up "See you ghouls later" Lincoln tells the ghouls as he follows Miss
Grimwood to her office as the ghouls waved him off.
"Do you think everything will be ok?" Winnie asked after they were out of ear shot.
"Remember what happened last time we got suspicious, it not only failed but it was nothing to worry about"
Elsa reminded Winnie as they being to go to gym.
"True but I can't help but get the feeling that something...isn't right" Tanis chimes in earning the others
attentions.
"What do you mean, you think he's hiding something?" Tsuki asked, She likes Lincoln and doesn't really feel
anything off about him.
"I don't think so" Tanis answers slowly as if thinking carefully on how to answer "He still smiles, he still makes
me feel better when I'm around him but ever since he came last time with the news that he was coming here I
could tell that he was happy but he also felt..."
"Sad" Winnie finishes Tanis's sentence having felt something similar.
"Uh-huh, I thought I was the only one" Tanis says as the rest of the ghouls looked between the two.
"Well...he did transfer to a boarding school two states away from him home" Sibella offered "I believe we were
all al little down at first so it will take him time to adjust."
Winnie and Tanis shared a look that made it clear that they both hope its that but for reasons unknowns to them
doubt it.
(Miss Grimwood POV)
Once we've made it to my office and sat down I decided to start the conversation off with something light.
"Well Lincoln, Although it feels pointless to ask since it's only been once class but how do you like it so far?"
Lincoln smiles and says. "It's going great, Learning more about the ghouls and their monster heritage was really interesting."
I smile at both his answer and his dedication in class as it's so wonderful to see how the ghouls interacted with
him and how he really focused in class proving how much staying means to him.
"I'm pleased to hear that and look forward to seeing you continue doing well" I said before taking out an
envelope and documents from my desk "Now onto business as most of the paperwork is already done and your
transfer is all set, I just need you to verify these to make sure everything is in order before send them to your
previous school"
As I watch Lincoln going through the documents I instantly could tell he was worried about something, In the
time I've got to know him I know that he's a smart youngn man and very perceptive, he probably can tell that
there was something more to this meeting during class hours other then verifying some documents.
"Everything is in order Miss Grimwood" Lincoln said while handing back the documents, Which I seal in the
envelope.
I thank him before looking at him with concern "Thank you Lincoln...I can tell you also figured out the other
reason for this meeting"
It pains me to see such a kind hearted young man stiffen in worry at my words but it hurts me more to not
address it or have one of my worst suspicions come true.
"I...I believe this has something to do about the night before" Lincoln says as he fidgets with his hands in his lap
as I notice the scars, they were small and I already know the incident that caused them but seeing the ones
around his wrist made me pray that it was all.
"Lincoln, I'm not going to be at around the bush and ask again" I look at Lincoln hoping to express my deepest
concerns. "Is everything alright at home?"
Lincoln takes a deep breath "I'll tell you but Promise me that you won;t let any of the ghouls know, I don't want
to drag my home life here"
I frown as that was basically conformation that things weren't well as I lace my fingers together on my desk "Of
course, Anything you say won't be shared with them if that is what you wish for."
Lincoln takes a deep breath and begins to explain a 'Bad Luck incident' That happened prior his late visit and
what I heard was nothing like I expected, from the threat with the baseball bat to how they've acted around him
after the game, but when I heard about everything in his room being sold and said room being boarded up and
even the attempt of locking him out the house...
I felt my emotions slip as my magic leaked out, causing the objects on my desk to rattle and knocking down a
picture that Lincoln thankfully caught.
"It all fits" I thought bitterly as I get my emotions under control "His quick response to get the form to me
despite it being late, why he only showed up with only a third of his family and even the night before when he
said ' Your sisters' to the ones he brought"
"Lincoln..." I began while feeling worried but Lincoln cut me off
"I know what they did was wrong" Lincoln says having his head down "It was stupid, idiotic and you can even
call it selfish; But I hope this time apart without me would help them actually grow and realize their mistake"
I Look at Lincoln and I mean really look at him, I can tell that despite how hurt he was by their actions he still
loves them dearly.
"Lincoln..." I began again and this time with no interruptions "I thank you for sharing this with me and while I'm
disappointed and extremely...upset by this, I hope to let you know that this doesn't change anything here as you
are my student now and I look after all of my students well beings"
Seeing him lift his head with a smile, even if a small one was enough to make me wear one of my own.
"Thank you Miss Grimwood" Lincoln thanked seeming more relaxed, as if the weight of the whole ordeal has
lightened and I'm glad to have taken some of the load off his shoulders.
"You are most welcome dear...now run along to the field with the others as I'm sure they'll help you with the
warm ups" I said, as Lincoln got up and made his way to the door before something caught my eye "Lincoln you
still have my picture"
"Huh?...Oh" Lincoln looked at the picture and gains a curious look before walking over to and handing it back to
me "You knew my Great grandma Harriet?"
"Well Yes I-wait what?" I exclaimed while looking between the photo and him "Y-Your Great grandmother?, The
one in your family that was rumored to be a witch?"
"Ya" He answered casually as my mind was in a whirlwind ""I've seen her picture enough times by Lucy who also
looks just like her."
It suddenly clicks as to why Lincoln's younger sister stirred a sense of familiarity and I mentally berate myself for
not figuring it out sooner.
"Well y-yes I do" I tell him "I can confirm that she was indeed a witch and that you most likely did indeed inherit
from her side"
"Really?" Lincoln asked with excitement that could match Phantasma's which brings a chuckle out of me.
"Yes really but I must insist you make your way to the others" I said waving him by as he exited my office, looking
for better then he did moments before.
Left alone in my office did I lay back in my chair as I replayed everything in my head, I was undoubtedly livid
with the knowledge of my student's home life and suspected that their is more going on.
Albert and Harriet... To think my Lincoln is related to two people that are important to me, Albert; who is a dear
old friend and Harriet was my mentor ans someone who i've always looked up too.
They were both kind hearted people who thought of their family and friends above all else to it greatly
disappoints me that those traits weren't pasted down.
Or more like skipped a generation (Two in Harriet's case) As Lincoln really was such a thoughtful young man.
Only than did it sink into me that in a strange twist of fate will I be teaching the great grandson of my mentor, oh
the irony.
"This is going to be an interesting year" I mutter but the sound of the children out side laughing brings a smile
on my face as it reminds me on why I built this school.
