Chapter 45 - Destruction

As the duo was close to a large building, they saw a gap between them. Kevin hummed a bit. "Looks like I'm gonna have to be a little creative," he said.

Kevin held Michelle in one hand as he stretched his other arm on the other side. "So... have you heard from her lately?" he asked.

Michelle looked at Kevin as his claws dug into the sturdy ground on the other side. "You mean Poppy? Last I heard, she went to the upper floor to help Kissy, Mommy, and Huggy," she said.

Kevin looked at Michelle as they moved to the other side. "You have those two as well?" he asked. Michelle smiled and placed the back of her hand under her chin. "What can I say? I'm a charming person," she said; Kevin snorted and chuckled. "In your dreams," he said.

When Kevin and Michelle were on the other side, his legs retracted, which led him to do a handstand with one hand.

Kevin looked at Michelle. "Ollie mentioned that she was around here somewhere and that we can trust you," he said. "If it were some random person, I'd be skeptical, but since it's you... you're one I can definitely trust."

Michelle looked down with crossed arms. "I see..." she said, lowly. Kevin tilted his head. "Something on your mind?" he asked.

Michelle looked at Kevin. "Let me ask you this... is he someone we can trust?" she asked. Kevin hummed. "The other two do, but in my opinion... something about him is off," he said.

Michelle pointed at Kevin. "Right! I mean... for someone who sounds so young to witness a hell like this place," she said. "And all the stuff he knew back at Playcare... the room under the statue, the Gas Production Zone... no kid should know that kind of information."

Kevin pushed himself off the ground before landing on his feet and holding Michelle in his arms. "I hear you..." he said before walking forward. "But, whether we like it or not, we can't figure out if he's really an enemy without concrete proof."

Michelle looked down with a slight frown before thinking of something. Maybe we can... she thought. As Kevin walked the rocky pathway, he jumped a few ledges down; soon after, he saw a hole with pink slime near it. "Suzy must be close by," he said before approaching it.

After Kevin went through the hole, Michelle looked at him. "How far until we get to Safe Haven?" she asked. Kevin looked around. "Not too far... we have to pass this place to get closer," he said.

When Kevin looked at the large crack in the wall, he saw Suzy next to it, which made him approach her. Suzy spotted the duo before smiling and waving. "Big Brother, look; we can fit through this small gap!" she shouted.

Kevin looked at the large crack with a sweatdrop. "If it were the two of us, it would be, but Misha isn't as... malleable as us," he said. Suzy looked down with a pout, which made Michelle frown.

Soon after, Michelle thought of something and smiled. "But there could be something useful on the other side," she said before looking at Kevin. "Right, Doey?"

Kevin looked at Michelle before looking at the large crack. "Maybe..." he said before humming. "Oh, but only if I had free hands to get to the other side." Suzy lit up and raised her hand. "I can get to the other side, can I, Big Brother?" she asked.

Kevin grinned a bit and looked away, while Michelle tried not to laugh. "I dunno, it's pretty dangerous out there..." he said. Suzy gave the duo puppy dog eyes. "Pretty please, Big Brother..." she said, lowly.

The duo smiled on the inside. The puppy dog eyes; so cute... they thought. Kevin looked at Suzy. "Alright... just be very careful, OK," he said.

Suzy smiled and nodded. "I will!" she shouted before squeezing through the crack to the other side. A dough arm formed on Kevin's back and held a fist out to Michelle, which made her fist bump it. "Totally worth it," they said.

After Kevin's dough arm retracted, Michelle looked around. "Now, uh... how do we get to the other side?" she asked. "The large gate looks like it won't budge, and like you said, I can't squeeze through that crack."

Kevin thought of something and looked down. "I... might have an idea," he said, which made Michelle look at him. "But..." Michelle stared at Kevin before nodding. "Whatever you need to do with me, it's fine," she said, which made him look at her. "I trust you..."

Kevin stared at Michelle before nodding and holding her under her arms. Soon after, Kevin wrapped his arms around Michelle behind her back, which made her blush a bit. "Close your eyes and try to hold your breath," he said.

Michelle was confused. "Hold my—" Kevin's body started pulling on her, which made her flinch, "And don't fight; panic will make it worse."

Michelle glanced at Kevin before looking forward and closing her eyes. I hope you know what you're doing, she thought as she held her breath.

Soon after, Michelle was inside Kevin's body. "Now to make adjustments..." he said before focusing. Soon after, Kevin's frame started shrinking, and a few curves started forming. Kevin's fangs retracted before he opened his mouth, revealing Michelle.

When Kevin's head was out of sight, Michelle gasped slightly and tried to catch her breath. When Michelle opened her eyes, she was shocked and looked at her hands. "Woah... this is... weird," she said.

Soon after, Kevin's head appeared on Michelle's shoulder. "You're telling me," he said. Michelle screamed a bit before turning her head to Kevin with a tick mark. "You dick! Warn me when you're gonna do that?!" she shouted.

Kevin rolled his eyes. "Don't be a drama queen," he said. Michelle looked at her hands and moved her fingers. "How did you... how did you get this idea?" she asked.

Kevin remained silent before looking away with a slight blush. "Remember that comic book you brought to Playcare about that spider guy?" he asked.

Michelle remembered. "Oh yeah, I think that specific one had that evil alien that bonded with him," she said before realizing it and grinning at Kevin. "Is that where the inspiration came from?"

Kevin blushed and looked down. "Maybe..." he said, lowly. Michelle giggled and poked Kevin's cheek. "Someone's a comic book nerd," she said.

Kevin growled and made the other hand swat the hand poking his cheek, which made Michelle flinch a bit. "You're lucky that's the only thing I could do while you're inhabiting my body," he said. "Having it like this is already taking a lot of focus."

Michelle looked at Kevin as she rubbed her hand. "So... what now?" she asked. Kevin looked at Michelle. "You're the one in the driver's seat; find a way to get that large gate open," he said. "Since I'm covering your body, you shouldn't be feeling any pain while walking."

As Michelle looked around, she saw four chains with hooks on different colored wheels. Michelle looked at the large gate. "Maybe if I have these chains connected to the door, they can pull it open," she said before approaching the chain on the blue wheel.

When Michelle was near the chain, she picked it up before examining the chain on the green wheel. "I won't... break any bones if I stretch your arms, will I?" she asked. Kevin shook his head. "Nah, you're good," he said.

Michelle smiled. "Sweet," she said before stretching her arm to the chain on the green wheel and grabbing it. After Michelle retracted her hand, she pulled the chains to the door. "This is so much cooler than the GrabPack arms," she said.

After Michelle placed the hooks in two separate hook holes, she stretched her arms to the other chains before retracting them. Michelle put the hooks in the other door's hook holes. "Now we need to pull them," she said.

Michelle looked at the blue chain wheel and noticed a lever next to it. Michelle looked at the other chain wheels and noticed the levers were missing. "We'll need to find three levers for the other chains," she said.

Michelle looked at the red chain wheel and noticed a lever nearby. "Make that two," she said before approaching it.

When Michelle was close to the lever, she picked it up and placed it in the empty slot. "Hey, Big Brother!" Suzy shouted, which made her turn to the yellow tower. "Is this useful?"

Soon after, a lever handle stuck on the dead mini DogDay corpse was tossed in the air before hitting the ground, which launched the corpse on the other side. The duo looked at the toy corpse with a sweatdrop. "That's, uh... very helpful, Suzy; thank you!" Kevin shouted.

Michelle approached the lever and grabbed it. "At least she tried," she said before shaking the blood off it and approaching the yellow chain wheel. As Michelle placed the lever in the empty slot, Kevin looked around the area with a solemn expression.

When Michelle turned her head to Kevin, she noticed his expression. "Not a fan of this place, huh?" she asked. Kevin dryly chuckled. "This was once a workyard, ya know," he said. "A dozen of us, maybe two would be here at any given moment..."

Kevin growled a bit. "During the day, they'd have us work... whatever they wanted us to do, we'd do it," he continued. "And for those who couldn't, or wouldn't..."

Michelle looked at Kevin, concerned. "At night, when no one important was watching, they'd take them... stick them in here," he said. "'We only got food for one of you this week,' they'd say. 'Which of you will it be?'"

Kevin's body started bubbling a bit. "They'd watch from up there. It was usually over within minutes," he continued. "And the guards... they'd be hysterical."

Kevin dryly chuckled as his body stopped bubbling. "Nobody died; no, because then, people would know," he said. "But the next day, and every day after, they would work. Oh yeah, hard as they could. And they'd never cause trouble again..."

Michelle firmly placed her hand against the shoulder near Kevin's head, which made him look at it before looking down. "Thanks..." he said, lowly.

Michelle smiled a bit and patted her shoulder. "Anytime," she said before looking at the gap between the green tower and the red tower. "Now then, let's find that last lever."

Michelle stretched her arms to the ledge near the red tower before launching herself. Michelle jumped over a few barrels before landing on the ground. "You adapt pretty quickly," Kevin said.

Michelle smiled as she stood properly. "I had to do a lot of adapting since I've been in this place," she said before walking forward. As Michelle walked around the towers, she entered the yellow one. "Is that you two up there? Did you find anything?" Suzy asked.

Michelle looked at the ground. "Not yet, but we're very close; just hang on for a little longer," she said. "Okie dokie, Misha," Suzy said.

Michelle smiled a bit before turning her head to the right; she saw a locker in the distance with a keypad next to it. "You have the last lever," she said before approaching it. When Michelle was close to the locker, she examined it.

Kevin groaned. "What's there to observe; just smash the stupid thing already," he said. Michelle looked at the board. "Your answer to a lot of things is destroying something; violence isn't always the answer," she said.

Kevin looked at Michelle. "Maybe so, but it makes things a lot quicker," he said. Michelle looked at the towers. "Even if you're right on that, there's a chance we could destroy the lever," she said.

Kevin rolled his eyes. "It's such a shocker you survived down here if all you've done is talk to the toys and being such a pacifist," he said. Michelle looked at Kevin with stern eyes. "Kevin, don't you dare..." she said.

Kevin grinned. "What? Are you gonna bore me to death with your words?" he asked rhetorically. Michelle looked down, eyes covered. "Stop it," she said, lowly. Kevin deadpanned Michelle. "If you keep going down this route, you're never going to save a single life," he said.

Michelle snapped and launched her arm at the locker, which destroyed the top part. Kevin looked at the locker with a smile. "Yeah, now we're cooking," he said. Michelle gripped the locker tightly. "We aren't done..." she said, lowly.

When Kevin turned his head to Michelle, he saw her glare, which made him flinch. "You want destruction... I'll fucking show you destruction?!" she shouted. As Michelle pulled the locker to her, Kevin quickly covered her head and neck.

Michelle grabbed both ends of the locker and angrily yelled as she tore it in half, dropping the lever. Michelle threw the pieces in the corner before tearing the metal with her claws.

After Michelle finished destroying the locker, she slammed her fists against a desk, which destroyed it, before grabbing the remains and throwing them in a different corner, which hit the crate in the process.

Michelle glared at the whiteboard and yelled as she punched through it, which destroyed it and created a hole in the wall. Michelle tried catching her breath as she pulled her arm out of the wall and stared at it.

Kevin uncovered Michelle's head and neck before staring at the hole. "That's destruction... you happy?" she asked. Kevin turned his head away. "I... may have gone a little too far..." he said, lowly.

Michelle glared at Kevin. "A little?" she asked rhetorically. Kevin sighed. "I took it way too far; I'm a total jackass, alright," he said. "I'm sorry..." Michelle took a deep breath and exhaled. "It's fine... in all honesty, I... kinda needed this after all the shit I've seen up there," she said.

Kevin remained silent as Michelle approached the lever and picked it up. "Luckily, the lever isn't destroyed, so that's a plus," she said.

Michelle looked at the hatch next to her and opened it. "And with that crate out of the way, we can go downstairs," she continued before walking down the steps.
