It had been a few hours since Mito arrived at the Lookout. He and Piccolo had been sparring against each other for the past few hours and Mito was surprised by the strength Piccolo had. While it's nothing compared to Goku in Super Saiyan 3, Piccolo is still strong in his own right. While Mito couldn't go all out, he still enjoyed their sparring match. He got to test Piccolo's power, and it helped him gauge where he stands as a fighter. Both fighters land on the lookout, stopping their sparring match.
"I must say Piccolo, you're definitely a strong fighter." Mito comments.
"Your pretty strong too. Not anyone can match Goku's strength. Though, I can tell you have a ton of untapped potential." Piccolo said with a smirk.
"Really?" Mito asks.
Piccolo crosses his arms.
"Of course. You have the DNA of some of the strongest fighters, right?" Piccolo asks.
"Goku, Vegeta, You, Frieza, Gohan and that's pretty much it." Mito said.
"Why not Majin Buu?" Piccolo asks.
"Wasn't able to get the data on that one. So, I'm stuck with the ones I had from the Cell Games." Mito said, shrugging his shoulders.
"Hm. No matter. With the DNA you have, you definitely have a ton of untapped potential."
[Meanwhile, Capsule Corp]
"What do you mean Cell's back!?"
Vegeta had gotten home and informed Bulma about his encounter with Mito. Bulma's reaction wasn't exactly surprising, and Vegeta was unfazed.
"Apparently he isn't Cell, just some copy of him." Vegeta said. "He also goes by Mito."
"And how come you didn't dispose of him? Pretty sure you would've by now." Bulma said.
"Blame Kakarot! If it wasn't for him, I would've killed that damn clone!" Vegeta claims.
"What did Goku do this time?" Bulma asks.
Vegeta: "He decided to keep him around as a sparring partner and a potential ally. It should be worth noting that Kakarot and Mito fought each other and were evenly matched." Vegeta explained.
"WHAT!?" Bulma shrieked. "You're telling me he can match Goku's strength!?"
"Yes, and there's no need to raise your voice!" Vegeta said.
"Well, if Goku's so sure. What did everyone else think? There were others there, right?" Bulma asks.
"Yes, the others were there. Gohan and Piccolo agreed to this." Vegeta said.
"Where's Mito now?" Bulma asks.
"With Piccolo at the Lookout. The Namekian volunteered to keep an eye on him." Vegeta explained.
"Okay no offense to Piccolo but how's he gonna stop him if he suddenly goes rogue?" Bulma asks.
"If he does go rogue, I'll deal with him. Though I'll hate having to clean up Kakarot's mess." Vegeta claimed.
"Yeah, if he could match Goku what chance do you have against him?" Bulma asks.
Vegeta didn't like that comment, but she was right. At the moment, Goku is stronger than him and thus Mito is stronger too. But he's not worried, he'll train enough to not only surpass Goku but also surpass Mito. He'll prove he's the best no matter what. He'll prove he's better than Cell. Mito might not be Cell, but he looks like him and has similar powers. So, he'll do.
[Meanwhile, Gohan's House]
Gohan had returned home where Videl and Hercule Satan were waiting. Before he had left, he informed them of the powerful energy he felt so they were worried about him. When he returned, they were relieved to see him alright, but Gohan had to explain to them everything about the situation regarding Cell's clone, Mito. They were both surprised to say the least. Hercule specifically. He remembers Cell vividly. It's one of the things that got him so popular. Sure he knows he wasn't the one who actually defeated Cell, but still. He can't bare to imagine how the public would react to seeing Cell, or a Cell lookalike, walking around. It brings him great anxiety. His reputation could be ruined if people saw Mito walking around.
"Gohan. I don't mean to sound like scaredy cat, but you do realize how much a problem this is right?" Hercule asked.
"Of course I do. That's why I'm hoping that you can come up with some kind of cover story. We can't really keep him hidden forever so if you can sway the publics opinion that would be a major help." Gohan said.
Hercule was hesitant but thought about it.
"Well, I guess I could come up with a convincing cover up." Hercule clenches his fists and smiles. "I could even make him a world-renowned figure if I wanted to! Just imagine it! The world knowing that the Great Hercule has redeemed a previously evil person and made him my student! The world would go nuts over it!"
"Well at least the story part is covered." Gohan said.
"Where is Mito anyway?" Videl asks.
"With Piccolo at the Lookout. He's keeping an eye on him until further notice." Gohan explained.
"And you're sure he can handle it?" Videl asks, showing some concern.
"I'm sure. While i know that Mito is as strong as dad, I couldn't really sense any sinister energy in him. While I'm still not exactly trusting of him considering my past with Cell, I have to give it a shot. We could potentially have a strong fighter protecting the Earth." Gohan explains.
"If that's the case I'll get to work on devising a cover up story for the public to eat right up!" Hercule said before hurrying off to do what he said.
Gohan and Videl watch as Hercule hurried away with enthusiasm.
"Well, he seems fully on board." Videl comments.
"That he does." Gohan agrees. "Well, I'll head out to the lookout to tell Piccolo and Mito the good news."
"Alright. Good luck." Videl said.
Gohan then makes his leave from the room. Once he gets outside, he blasts off to reach the Lookout. As he flew away, he couldn't help but think about Gero. How many Androids did that doctor really make?
[Timeskip]
Gohan finally reaches the Lookout. He spots both Piccolo and Mito talking to each other out in the open as the wind rushes past them. Piccolo was filling Mito in on certain events. Mito doesn't really know everything that went down during Majin Buu's rampage. He knows about key events, well some of them. The information regarding Majin Buu is incomplete which is one of the factors resulting in Mito not having Buu's cells. Piccolo found this out and was informing Mito of the entire story surrounding Buu. Mito was intrigued to find out that Buu still existed, well, a more good-hearted Buu compared to his counterpart Kid Buu. There was a lot the supercomputer didn't gather. The two stop their conversation as they take notice of Gohan's approach. Gohan lands beside them and greets them with a slight wave.
"Need something Gohan?" Piccolo asks.
"Good news for you two. Hercule is onboard with the idea of creating a cover story for Mito. This should make integrating him into society a lot easier." Gohan explained.
"I would say great to hear. But I have a feeling that things won't go smoothly." Mito said.
"Why do you say that?" Gohan asks.
"Call it a hunch but aren't you guys danger magnets?" Mito asks.
"Well, I will admit we sometimes attract unwanted attention. But we've been at peace ever since Kid Buu was defeated." Gohan said.
"If you say so. Just know that if we're suddenly attacked, I was right." Mito said. "So how exactly does this Hercule guy plan to make a cover story?"
"Not sure entirely. But it seems he'll make up a story making it seem like he helped redeem you." Gohan said.
"What? But I'm not Cell?" Mito said.
"I know. When I get back, I'll try and help him come up with a story to cover things up and get you off this lookout." Gohan said.
"No need to rush it. So far, I've enjoyed my time up here. Piccolo's been filling me in on things that I missed out on." Mito said.
"Oh yeah? Like what?" Gohan asks.
"Most of the events that transpired during Majin Buu's attack." Piccolo answers.
"I thought you knew about Majin Buu?" Gohan asks confusedly.
"I do. Just not everything regarding the events surrounding Majin Buu. I didn't even know about the Kai's." Mito said.
"Are you serious? I thought the supercomputer would've given you the information." Gohan said.
"Well. The drones failed in gathering the cells of Buu because they were destroyed. I'm not sure how I gained information on Super Saiyan 3 though, and according to Piccolo, Goku and Vegeta fused into someone called Vegito." Mito said. "It's Vegito right?"
"Correct."
"Well, at least you're now informed. Makes future events easier I guess." Gohan comments.
"How long do you think it'll take Hercule to come up with a story?" Mito asks.
"Unsure. But once he has one, I'll come get you." Gohan said.
Mito nods. Gohan then takes his leave and blasts off. Mito and Piccolo watch him off.
