With a muffled sound of surprise, Zaila's eyes widened and then they slowly narrowed until they closed as her mind was thrown into a mild state of turmoil where she was torn between annoyance at his impudence and amazement at how good his lips felt against hers.
As he leaned in closer, deepening the contact of their lips, Caius dropped his hand from Zaila's chin down into the space between their bodies. There, he trailed his fingers across each of her covered breasts in turn, feeling as Zaila shivered in reaction.
As it turned out, Zaila took note of this reaction in her body as well, and it let a seed of resistance bloom for a second, allowing her to place a hand on Caius's shoulder to push him away from her.
Before Zaila could push him away, however, the vampire's lips left hers and she paused all action as she was gripped by a sense of loss that annoyed her because why the hell was she being so putty in this strange vampire's hands.
