Elements can complement one another quite nicely so the creation of a spell that combined two complementing elements should have been straightforward, right? Well, it wasn't.
Caius could still remember how many times he had gotten close to success only for the spell circle made out of the Arcane symbols of two different elements to essentially take control of the mana coursing through him and make it erratic. There just seemed like a natural law that insisted two Elements not be mixed. And actually, there was.
There is a law, basically a divine Ordinance, that seeks to keep the Elements apart, and only through arduous and adamant processes, can one succeed. It's why spells of Elemental combinations are not all that common. And it's why unique elements made from the combination/amalgamation of two or more elements are looked at as an impressive and incredible feat. Because it definitely is.
