Chapter 30 - Chapter 29:- Selling Cookies In Sandy Island

At Nanohana Port - Eastern Docks

Ace pushed open the tavern's creaky door, the bright sunlight making him squint as he stepped onto the wooden boardwalk. He stretched his arms behind his head, the smell of saltwater mixing with the lingering aroma of grilled meat on his clothes.

"Guess I should start asking around about Teach," he muttered to himself, scanning the bustling port. Fishing boats unloaded their catches while merchants shouted about their wares. His sandals clunked against the weathered planks as he wandered toward the market district, completely unaware that just—

Main Harbor - Marine Checkpoint

Smoker's boots thudded against the dock as he marched past rows of marine soldiers. "Double the patrols," he ordered around his cigar. "I want every ship searched before—"

A sudden gust of wind blew his coat sideways.

His head snapped up instinctively, but all he saw was a seagull flying overhead. Shaking his head, he continued toward the customs office, white smoke trailing behind him, never noticing the—

Sky Above the Port

"WOOOOOHOOOO!" Luffy's laughter echoed as he flew through the air, arms and legs flailing wildly. The wind ripped at his straw hat as he arced over the harbor, completely missing the marine ships below him.

"MEAT HERE I COME!" He crashed through the roof of a bakery in the commercial district in an explosion of flour and splinters.

Going Merry - Approaching Dock

On the Straw Hat's ship, chaos erupted:

Usopp screamed, waving his arms wildly. "HE JUST JUMPED! HE JUST JUMPED TOWARD TOWN!"

Zoro facepalmed so hard it echoed. "Idiot."

Nami's eye twitched violently. "WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE LAYING LOW!"

Takuya leaned against the railing, watching the port come into view. "Too late now," he said calmly, though his fingers tapped rhythmically against the wood.

Town Square - Bakery

Luffy sat up in a cloud of flour, blinking white powder from his eyelashes. "Pfft! Bleh!" He spat out a mouthful of dough. His stomach growled as he noticed the undamaged meat pies scattered around him. "SHISHISHI! LUCKY!"

Market District

Ace paused at a fruit stand, absentmindedly rolling an apple in his palm. "Excuse me," he asked the vendor, "have you seen—"

A distant crash echoed from the next street over, followed by shouting. Ace shrugged and took a bite of the apple. "Probably nothing."

Customs Office

Smoker slammed his fist on a desk, making the paperwork jump. "I don't care about import taxes! I need patrol reports!"

The clerk gulped. "Y-yes sir! But there was just a disturbance at the bakery—"

"NOT MY CONCERN!" Smoker bellowed, blowing cigar smoke in the man's face.

Three Unaware Forces

- Ace wandered the market, asking about Blackbeard

- Smoker interrogated marine officers at the docks

- Luffy happily devoured an entire bakery's worth of goods

Going Merry - Dockside

Nami rubbed her temples as the ship finally docked. "Alright, damage control. We need to find Luffy before—"

"COOKIES!" Takuya suddenly declared, hefting a large wooden crate onto his shoulder. Mira followed behind with a folding table and a painted sign.

Usopp blinked. "Wait, what are you—"

"Business opportunity!" Takuya grinned, already marching toward the market square. "Mira! Set up shop by that fountain!"

Zoro scoffed. "We're supposed to be looking for our idiot captain."

Takuya waved dismissively. "He'll find us when he smells food. After all, when he smells freshly baked cookies he'll come to me in no time. Mira, the sign!"

Mira proudly unfolded their banner, which read in colorful letters:

"COME TO THE DARK SIDE - WE HAVE COOKIES! (Sandy Island Branch)"

Sanji's eye twitched. "That's not even funny!"

Market Square - Cookie Stand

Within minutes, Takuya had transformed a simple table into an inviting stall. Rows of perfectly golden cookies lined trays, their sweet aroma drifting through the market.

"Step right up!" Mira called cheerfully. "Special island cookies! Only 200 berries each!"

The first customer, a little girl with pigtails, approached shyly. "Mister...are these really from the Dark Side?"

Takuya crouched to her level with a conspiratorial wink. "The darkest." He offered a free sample. "Tell your friends."

Soon a crowd gathered:

"These are amazing!"

"Mommy, can we get more?"

"I'll take three dozen!"

Meanwhile - Nearby Alley

Zoro leaned against a wall, watching the cookie chaos. "This is ridiculous."

Nami had berries sign in her eyes, as she saw the berries piling up in their money box. "Actually...this might be our most profitable stop yet."

Usopp nibbled a cookie. "Okay, these are really good though."

Bakery District

Luffy stumbled out of the destroyed bakery, his belly round and happy. "BURP! That hit the spot!" His nose suddenly twitched. "Huh? Cookies?!" He followed the scent like a missile.

Marine Checkpoint

Tashigi ran up to Smoker, panting. "Sir! Reports of a suspicious cookie vendor in the market!"

Smoker blew out an irritated smoke ring. "I don't care about—"

"They're calling themselves agents of the 'Dark Side'!"

Smoker's cigar nearly fell from his mouth. "TAKUYA!" He transformed into smoke and shot toward the market.

Cookie Stand - Market Square

The crowd had grown into a small festival. Children laughed with cookie crumbs on their faces while adults debated flavors.

"Try the tangerine one!" Mira urged a customer.

Takuya suddenly stiffened, his hand pausing mid-transaction. His eyes darted toward a nearby rooftop where a familiar figure in an orange hat watched the scene with amusement.

Before he could react, Luffy's voice boomed: "COOOOOOKIES!" The rubber boy came flying through the air toward the stand.

At the same moment, the crowd parted as a wall of white smoke barreled toward them.

"TAKUYA!" Smoker roared.

Mira sighed. "And there goes our peaceful sales day."

Takuya grabbed the money box with one hand and Mira's wrist with the other. "Time to go!"

As Luffy crashed into the cookie stand and Smoker's jitte came down, the three forces finally collided in an explosion of crumbs, smoke, and rubbery limbs - much to the confusion of the cookie-loving crowd.

The market square erupted into pure chaos as cookie debris rained down in every direction. Luffy sat amidst the wreckage of the stand, happily munching on broken cookies with flour covering him from head to toe.

Nearby, Smoker yanked his jitte from the ground where Takuya had been standing mere moments before, his face twisted in fury.

"TAKUYA! SHOW YOURSELF!" he roared, veins bulging in his forehead.

The crowd of confused customers clutched their berry coins, looking around in bewilderment until a cookie suddenly bounced off Smoker's head.

All eyes turned to see Takuya perched on a nearby rooftop, casually munching on another cookie. "Looking for me, Smokey?" he asked with a cheeky grin before taking another bite.

"Mmm...needs more cinnamon." Smoker's face turned an impressive shade of purple as smoke began pouring from his body. "GET BACK HERE!" he bellowed, launching himself upward in a swirling tornado of white smoke.

Takuya winked at the stunned crowd below. "Sorry folks! Marine interference!" With that, he leaped nimbly across the rooftops, Smoker hot on his trail, their chase sending fruit carts tumbling and clotheslines snapping in their wake.

Back at the destroyed cookie stand, Mira blinked at the mess for just a moment before shrugging and producing a fresh tray of cookies from the bag she was carrying.

"Who's next?" she asked cheerfully, as if nothing unusual had happened at all. The crowd hesitated briefly before surging forward again in a hungry mob.

"ME! I WANT ONE!" they shouted, arms waving frantically. Nami appeared beside Mira as if by magic, her eyes transforming into berry symbols as she clutched a money box tightly.

"That'll be 200 berries each! No refunds!" she declared, snatching coins with such speed that even Usopp couldn't keep up with his usual tall tales, though he did try to sneak a few berries from the tip jar when he thought no one was looking.(I repeat tried)

Meanwhile, Takuya's rooftop escapade continued as he slid down a market awning, deliberately kicking over a barrel of pickles directly into Smoker's path. The marine captain plowed through it without hesitation, emerging covered in vinegar and even more enraged than before.

"STOP RUNNING!" he bellowed, bits of pickle clinging to his coat. "STOP CHASING!"

Takuya shot back over his shoulder, tossing another cookie behind him.

Smoker swatted it away angrily, sending it flying straight into the hands of a delighted elderly woman who caught it with surprising agility. "Ooo! Free sample!" she chirped, happily munching on the treat as the chase continued around her.

Back at the cookie stand, Zoro leaned against a nearby wall, watching the scene unfold with a mixture of disbelief and resignation.

His eye twitched as he took in the sight of Mira calmly baking more cookies over a small open flame, Nami counting money at terrifying speeds, Usopp's failed attempts at petty theft, and Chopper being used as an adorable mascot to attract more customers.

"Are we just...letting this happen?" Zoro muttered to himself, though no one paid him any attention. Nearby, Sanji delivered a swift kick to a marine who got too close to Nami, sending the unfortunate man flying.

"If Nami-swan's happy, I'm happy!" the cook declared, though his smile looked slightly strained as he watched the piles of berries growing in Nami's money box.

The chase reached its climax when Takuya suddenly skidded to a stop at a dead-end roof. Smoker landed before him with a triumphant grin, smoke swirling around his body. "Nowhere left to run, drug dealer!" he declared victoriously.

Takuya sighed dramatically before his lips curled into a mischievous smirk. "Who said anything about running?" he asked, reaching into his coat and pulling out two giant cookie sheets. "Let's bake!" Before Smoker could react, Takuya brought the metal sheets together with a thunderous CLANG! right around the marine's head.

Stars danced around Smoker's dazed eyes as he wobbled unsteadily on his feet. Takuya reached up and patted the stunned captain's head affectionately. "Good talk," he said before executing a perfect backflip off the roof and landing neatly in a passing hay cart that conveniently carried him away from the scene.

Amidst all this chaos, Takuya managed to slip a small wrapped package to Tashigi when no one was looking. The swordswoman glanced around furtively before unwrapping it to reveal a perfectly shaped cookie in the form of a tiny sword.

Despite herself, she took a small bite, her glasses fogging up slightly at the delicious taste, before quickly composing herself and pretending nothing had happened.

As Tashigi unwrapped the cookie, her fingers brushed against something written on the inside of the wrapper. She quickly turned away from the other marines, pretending to adjust her glasses as she read the neat handwriting:

"If you want more cookies, Midnight. Old lighthouse on West Pier. Come alone."

Her breath hitched for just a second before she carefully folded the wrapper and slipped it into her breast pocket, patting it twice to make sure it was secure. The cookie suddenly felt heavier in her hand.

"Ensign?" a marine called out. "Everything alright?"

Tashigi shoved the whole cookie into her mouth at once, cheeks puffing out like a chipmunk's. "Mmmf! Jusht... gulp... just checking the perimeter!" she said through the mouthful of crumbs, wiping her lips with the back of her hand.

She turned back toward the bakery chimney where Smoker was still stuck, but her free hand kept drifting to her pocket, fingers tracing the hidden message through the fabric.

The sweet aftertaste of the cookie lingered on her tongue as she muttered under her breath, "Stupid drug dealer and his stupid good cookies..." But her eyes kept darting toward the western docks all the same.
