**(Nolan Grayson wasn't exactly satisfied with his plan, but he felt it had no obvious flaws.**
In truth, he knew in his heart that this could only hide the truth for a while, not forever. Back then, the mission the Empire had assigned him was to eliminate all forces on Earth capable of resistance while conquering the planet. In other words, eliminating the Guardians of the Globe was just the beginning.
He would inevitably have to confront Cecil's Agency for Defense later, so his exposure was only a matter of time, the only difference being sooner or later.
*"What a pity."*
At this moment, the image of his son, Mark, flashed through Nolan Grayson's mind. He thought about how much better it would have been if Mark hadn't awakened his superpowers. If he didn't have the long lifespan of a Viltrumite, Nolan could have stuck to his original plan: wait until Debbie and Mark died of old age, and then begin the slaughter and conquest of this planet. That way, at least he wouldn't have destroyed the perfect image he had in Mark's heart.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned.
Omni-Man shook his head imperceptibly, casting aside his stray thoughts as his expression grew even colder. Just then, The Immortal and the others arrived one by one. On the platform inside the base, their gazes met.
After a few seconds, War Woman was the first to speak, asking, *"The Immortal, why did you summon us?"*
*"This emergency summons has nothing to do with me."*
The Immortal frowned slightly; for some reason, he had a bad feeling. The base was located inside a mountain. The surrounding lights were dim, and the environment was utterly silent.
*"If not you, then who could it be?"*
War Woman felt a sense of unease and tightened her grip on her weapon.
Suddenly!
Red Rush's pupils contracted sharply. He instantly became a red blur, shooting out from his spot and lunging desperately toward The Immortal. However, in the instant he pushed The Immortal away, a fist containing terrifying power smashed through the space where The Immortal's head had just been!
It was easy to imagine that if Red Rush had been a second later, The Immortal's head would have absolutely exploded like a watermelon!
This sudden turn of events caused everyone present to freeze. Then, one by one, their eyes filled with disbelief as they looked at the familiar figure standing among them—Omni-Man, Nolan Grayson, calmly retracting his fist in his battle suit.
*"Omni-Man?"*
*"What's going on?"*
They couldn't believe that Omni-Man, a hero by name, had just tried to kill The Immortal.
*"Attack!"*
Sensing something was wrong, War Woman decisively swung her weapon, dashed in front of Omni-Man, and launched a fierce assault. But Omni-Man's expression remained indifferent. While dodging, he suddenly shot out his right hand and gripped War Woman's weapon like an iron vise.
Immense power traveled from his arm down to his feet. Omni-Man's body sank, and the ground beneath him cracked like a spiderweb. At this moment, Omni-Man only wanted a quick fight.
He used one hand to grip War Woman's weapon while his other hand balled into a fist and punched out with unstoppable force! The red-gloved fist grew larger and larger in War Woman's pupils. In that instant, she instinctively let go of her weapon, subconsciously feeling that her death was certain.
Fortunately, at that moment, Red Rush sprang into action again. At the critical moment between life and death, he saved War Woman by a hair's breadth. War Woman could even feel the violent gust of wind graze her cheek, bringing a sharp, stinging pain.
*"Shit! Omni-Man must have gone insane!"*
Darkwing and Aquarus attacked simultaneously. The former threw out a spherical explosive, while the latter raised his hands and summoned a torrent of water.
**Boom!**
The bomb exploded in front of Omni-Man. However, Omni-Man was completely unharmed. He stared straight ahead, advancing step by step against the current from Aquarus.
Seeing this, Martian Man immediately stretched his body like a rope, winding it around Omni-Man again and again.
*What a nuisance!*
Omni-Man didn't speak, a hint of impatience in his eyes. Right now, he just wanted to end this quickly. So, he flexed his arms with immense force, breaking the rope-like body restraining him, grabbed Martian Man, and pulled hard.
**Rip!**
Martian Man's body was nearly torn in two. He was forced to revert to his original form, only to have his head grabbed by Omni-Man and slammed violently downwards.
**CRASH!!**
A shocking crater immediately appeared before everyone's eyes. Instantly, Martian Man's status—whether he was alive or dead—was unknown.
*"Stop!"*
The Immortal charged forward without hesitation. But what met him was a large hand moving too fast to be dodged. The hand grabbed The Immortal's face.
A cruel look flashed in Omni-Man's eyes. As all five fingers squeezed at once, The Immortal's expression began to twist in agony. The intense pain caused his eyes to fill with blood vessels, his skin to break, and the fingers to sink deep into his flesh.
*"Let... go... of... me..."*
The Immortal hammered his fists against Omni-Man's chest again and again, but his attacks seemed pale and feeble. Omni-Man's figure stood as firm as a reef. In the face of The Immortal's assault, his only action was to continuously increase his own strength.
All of this happened within a matter of seconds. How could the others present just stand by and watch their leader be brutally killed by Omni-Man?
Red Rush intended to save The Immortal just as he had before. But while his movements were too fast for others to react to, in Omni-Man's eyes, they were perfectly trackable. As if he had anticipated it, he suddenly extended his other hand, his palm closing around Red Rush's shoulder.
**CRUNCH!**
Red Rush's shoulder was instantly crushed, a mash of flesh, bone fragments, and blood slowly oozing from between Omni-Man's fingers.
This battle could only be described as a complete rout. The oppressive presence emanating from Omni-Man made it hard for the remaining few to even breathe.
**Despair!**
It was as if Darkwing and the others could only watch as their leader and Red Rush were effortlessly slaughtered by Omni-Man!
**SSHHH!!**
Suddenly, a sound like screeching metal echoed through the base. Everyone, including Omni-Man, Darkwing, and the other members of the Guardians, subconsciously looked toward the sealed main door of the base.
They saw two scorching red laser beams carve two large 'Z's into the circular, alloy-made door. Following that, a section of the door was pushed open, allowing a beam of sunlight to shine into the base.
And at this moment, standing in the sunlight as if bathed in brilliance, was the figure of their vice-captain, Jervis, dressed in a spotless, all-white suit!
Seeing the scene inside the base, Xia Shang chuckled lightly and said, *"It seems I've come at a bad time, Nolan Grayson. I seem to have interrupted you, my apologies."*
Omni-Man released his grip, his expression cold as he stared at Xia Shang and said, *"You've come at the perfect time. It seems I can take care of you as well."*
