Carne Village
1 day later
Brain and Dough have been sparing constantly ever since they got to the village, the only time they would rest was when food was served or it's bedtime. Dough found out that not all the matches were equal, some gave him more experience points than others base on the intensity of the spar. Right now, he has earned about 7,000 experience points just from fighting Brain.
"I felt like I'm on the brink of something profound, and I don't think our usual duel will cut it anymore," Brain said as he tries to defend himself from the onslaught of Dough's relentless attacks. Dough never returned the sword he 'found' on the ground that day. He chose to keep it to up his skills in the swords, which now he felt like is almost at Brain's level.
"Let's stop for today then," Dough said as he pulls a wooden mug and a barrel filled with water out of his inventory, giving himself a drink. He offers Brain another mug, which he gladly accepted.
[540 experience gained]
During his time in E-Rantel, Dough led Enri to the Mage Guild, and he bought some scrolls and bribe a mage to show Enri some magic. One such magic was creation magic, such as being able to create salt, pepper, and conjure drinkable, even sweet, water. Even though he doesn't know how to cook, he still misses modern day cooking. The meat and bread he was eating are bland and was not as delicious as the ones he had before.
Of course, he is picky about his classes, but he just wants to have some seasoning and a cook, and all will be set. Of course he could just buy the seasonings, but when they are on the market the nobles just gobble all of it up and he is not going to waste a class on a chef class.
[Sorcerer class detected, would you like to acquire this class]
He did not dismiss this message when it first popped up in E-Rantel, and he has been contemplating the decision ever since. Since Sorcerers relied on their feelings or something to conjure magic, he hopes that means he does not have to study or learn the fundamentals of magic to just caste a basic spell.
'Yes,' Dough mentally thought as he leveled up the new class to 5.
[Sorcerer class acquired]
[Sorcerer- Compared to wizards, sorcerers relied much more on feeling. Therefore, a sorcerer's training focused on closing their eyes and using one's own heart to sense the waves of magic casters that emanates when casting spells]
[Sorcerer(genius)- For every level invested into this class, gain 2.6 MP, 1.3 Magic Attack, and 1.3 magic defense]
[Acquire Passive Skill Mana Sense- Can sense the amount of MP a person or object possessed]
[Gain 13 MP, 6.5 Magic Attack, and 6.5 Magic Defense]
[Gain Magic Slots, allowing the user to instantly learn spell up to a certain amount base on the user's level. Due to Genius, added 2 additional slots per level]
Dough clicked on the Magic Slots mentally, showing him all the spells he had seen before or meet the condition of. Of course, even if this is wasteful, he is getting all the seasonings creation magic, taking up 5 slots in total. He can always use his skill, Challenger, and face someone around his level to the death, allowing him to potentially learn their magic.
"Sorry for the silence, but I just had an sudden enlightenment again," Dough said, using that excuse around Brain to cover the fact that he leveled up. He'll show him his magic later. For now...
"I heard the Wise King of the Forest is quite a fearsome opponent. It's probably the catalyst you need to reach the next realm," Dough stated.
"You're right. I probably need a life or death situation to grasps that next step," Brain commented.
"I'll tell John and Enri that we will be gone for a month, hopefully nothing bad happens while we are gone," Dough worriedly stated, having cared for the villagers because of the hospitality they have shown him since his arrival in this world.
When Dough delivered the news to John, he accepted it quite quickly since he knew someone exceptional like Dough would never settle down in this village. Meanwhile, Enri was begging to come along, she clanged tightly to Dough and would not let go. Only when Dough told her that he will take her along in the future, (once he is one of the strongest in this world), did Enri let go.
Brain and Dough then settle off, heading straight into the Tob Forest, hoping to find the Wise king of the Forest. But Dough had more plans than just that.
