Chapter 465 - Chapter 465: Thunder Showdown: Sapphire Hates Trouble

In another corner of the foggy battlefield, lightning flashed, illuminating the dim, abandoned subway station as bright as day.

A man with a bare torso and faintly glowing green skin walked forward slowly. He seemed intrinsically linked to the thunder and lightning around him.

The electric current arcing across his body crackled and sizzled. Wherever he passed, not only did the air tremble, but even the discarded electronics on the ground exploded one after another under the overwhelming magnetic interference, sending sparks flying.

Just ahead, lounging lazily on a bench in front of a ruined convenience store, Lampo yawned as if nothing about this situation deserved his full attention. His body had practically melted into the chair.

A lollipop stuck out from the corner of his mouth, flickering strangely under each burst of lightning.

He grumbled, "Seriously… I had today off. And of course, this nonsense happens again..." As he spoke, he casually tugged at his lightning-patterned pajamas. The tuft of hair on his head twitched in sync with the distant thunder, giving him a strangely playful appearance.

"Yo, electric guy. Mind turning down the voltage? We've got a power ration going on in Hell's Kitchen," Lampo called out lazily, eyeing the opponent crackling with energy across from him. His tone was teasing, almost mocking.

The man—one of the Six Hanging Flowers, known simply as Ghost, a lightning-wielding reincarnator—ignored Lampo's complaint. He merely raised his arm slightly.

In an instant, a surge of lightning burst forth like serpentine dragons, striking toward Lampo with murderous intent.

Wherever the bolts passed, even steel melted like wax under the high voltage. The acrid stench of burning metal filled the air.

But Lampo just shifted slightly. The lightning, which had been mere centimeters from frying his nose, curved harmlessly away at the last second. They spiraled around his casually crossed legs, like pets whining for attention.

"…So noisy," Lampo muttered irritably. He scratched his belly. Then, in a surreal display, he kneaded the lightning wrapping around his legs like dough into glowing orbs, and flicked them lazily back at Ghost.

"If you're gonna pick a fight, can we get it over with? I've got a nap waiting," he added, tone heavy with boredom.

But the moment the ball lightning neared Ghost, it vanished—sucked into some unseen vortex.

Lampo's lazy expression sharpened, just slightly. "Absorption… huh. That's tricky."

He could absorb lightning too—but this guy? This guy was on another level. He stood slowly, eyes narrowing as he took in Ghost's fluctuating form—flickering between visibility and lightning pulses. He wasn't a man, not in the traditional sense. He was a phenomenon.

Still, that seriousness only lasted a second before Lampo gave a lazy smirk.

"Thinking up countermeasures? Ugh. Sounds exhausting." He sighed dramatically. "Let's just see who's better at absorbing lightning. Think of it as a post-dinner workout."

Then, almost as an afterthought, he frowned. "Though after this, I'm definitely asking Alex and Giotto for compensation. I want a three-day break. No—make it a week!"

While Lampo was casually complaining, Ghost acted.

The crimson glow in his eyes flared like twin suns. Six jagged lightning wings erupted from his back—he resembled a wrathful god descending.

All around them, metal objects—cars, signs, debris—rose into the air, drawn by some mysterious electromagnetic force. They converged above Ghost, forming a colossal purple thunder sword nearly a hundred meters wide, brimming with annihilating power.

"Thunder Judgment: Heaven's Wrath." Ghost whispered.

As the massive sword plunged down, Lampo disappeared.

He reappeared a moment later—soaking in a hot spring that hadn't been there seconds ago, the water bubbling with green lightning. Somehow, he'd used his precise control to melt the asphalt and form an impromptu lightning spa. He even blew a lazy bubble as he soaked.

The titanic lightning blade struck—but the moment it touched the pool, its energy was sucked into the water, completely nullified.

"Nice move…" Lampo popped his head up, grinning, "Perfect for a sauna."

"…My turn."

Lampo's lazy demeanor finally shifted into something more focused. The lightning emblem on his chest, passed down from the First Vongola, glowed brilliantly.

With a snap of his fingers, a hammock woven from lightning materialized beneath him. He leaned back, hands in pockets.

"Thunder secret art…" Lampo grinned as the Thunder Kirin Ghost summoned lunged forward.

"Million-Ton Sleepyhead."

The hammock surged with power—Ghost's monstrous lightning beast was disassembled into pure green motes of energy. The motes reassembled into a giant palm that slapped Ghost into the ground, sending stone tiles and debris soaring skyward in a wave of force.

When Ghost clawed his way out of the wreckage, Lampo was sipping on a cup of milk tea, using a lightning-formed straw. The battle? It was like it never happened.

"Know why I'm the Thunder Guardian?" Lampo asked, voice muffled by tapioca pearls.

"Because lightning…"

He snapped his fingers again—crack!

Ghost's eyes widened in horror.

His lightning—his own power—was reversing course, pulled away from him. Lampo's emblem now acted like a black hole, vacuuming every volt out of Ghost's body.

"…is meant to be tamed."

Lampo stood up and stretched, forming the absorbed power into a glowing green orb no bigger than a baseball. It pulsed softly.

"…And it makes the best sleep aid."

He rolled the orb toward Ghost's feet. The moment it touched, it exploded—not with violence, but with warm, enveloping energy.

It wrapped around Ghost like a blanket. Ghost staggered, overwhelmed with fatigue. His body gave out—and then, with a faint flicker of light, he simply vanished.

Like he was never there.

Lampo slumped back onto his recliner, snoring gently. His snores echoed through the ruined street.

"Such… a pain…"
