Hell's Kitchen,
"Ah... be gentle." Aunt May was treating Thor's wound.
Alex Ray had saved Thor from Kadoya Tsukasa and didn't want to fuss over him anymore. At this moment, he was scrolling through the chat group messages.
The Food Delivery Student: "That's it? I took off my pants and you show me this!"
Lil Jackass: "Cheating! You're blatantly cheating, Alex Ray! You didn't do anything to earn these 50 friend points!"
Marvel's Most Beautiful Woman: "The entire software was developed by Alex Ray; he can do whatever he wants. This isn't cheating, it's reasonable use of authority."
Come Be My Family: "Don't worry, I'm just demonstrating this to you this time. In the future, bounty missions will be issued at irregular intervals. Whether you accept them depends on your speed and the number of applicants.
If there's only one requirement but multiple applicants, there are two ways to decide: the employer chooses personally, or if it's a random task, it will be assigned randomly.
Don't worry, there will be many more tasks available in the future."
Try to Be Better: "Thank you, Master! I understand!"
Never-worn Underpants: "Looks like I'll have to work hard to earn friend points from now on!"
An Old Man Who Plays with Magnets: "Unfortunately, those not in this group can't complete the missions, otherwise, these missions would belong to the Brotherhood of Mutants!"
After finishing the explanations, Alex stopped checking the chat messages. He turned to Thor, his eyes flashing with deep resolve, as if he could see through everything.
He asked calmly, "You guys didn't come here just to save Loki, did you?"
Thor was slightly stunned. He gently pressed a hot compress to his swollen eye, sighed helplessly, and said, "I am here to take Loki away, yes. But more importantly, I need to tell you that the Chitauri army is about to attack Earth."
Urgency and seriousness filled his voice.
Thor watched Alex's face carefully, hoping to catch a flicker of panic or unease.
But he was disappointed.
Alex's expression remained calm, as if he already knew everything.
Alex smiled, picked up a cup of hot tea from the table, and handed it to Thor.
Thor looked at the tea, frowned, and shook his head. "You know I don't drink tea."
Alex smiled and waved his fingers gently. The tea in Thor's hand instantly transformed into golden beer. "I know what you like. This is for you."
Thor stared at the beer, surprised and somewhat confused.
He looked at Alex and asked, "Aren't you worried? The Chitauri are one of the top forces in the universe. Even we Asgardians don't dare provoke them easily."
Alex sipped his own tea calmly. "I know. Your brother Loki already told me. But don't worry, I have a plan."
His eyes shone with confidence and determination.
Since Alex knew a fight was coming, he wasn't foolish enough to rush headfirst like those few Avengers in the movie.
Even in the movie, he didn't believe the Avengers were the only ones involved. Other forces must have helped — though he didn't know Wakanda was involved, the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj must have been dispatched.
In the original story, the Ancient One was near the New York temple, not Kamar-Taj.
How could ordinary people just sit back and wait to die? These are their families. Even if afraid, they'd protect them.
The Avengers defended that place with just a few people. Alex didn't believe Hell's Kitchen couldn't do the same.
"Maybe you don't understand the strength of the Chitauri army. They're one of the top forces in the universe. Even we Asgardians might not gain anything by provoking them," Thor said, hoping Alex would take the threat seriously. Although he knew Alex was powerful, he was still only one person.
This time, Loki's actions might bring disaster to Earth. Naturally, Thor was nervous.
"Don't worry," Alex said. "I've already told my people to prepare." Not only Hell's Kitchen, but also the High Table and the X-Men were aware of the situation.
Alex had informed Wilson Fisk, who was handling federal officials by sending them on 'vacations' to owe him favors.
Even S.H.I.E.L.D. and the FBI — organizations Alex hated — had been tipped off anonymously. Whether they believed him was another matter.
He didn't expect much help but hoped they'd do the minimum to maintain order and protect civilians.
Alex also asked Hell's Kitchen's companies to launch special shelter packages for wealthy outsiders. Staying safely in Hell's Kitchen for a week would cost one million dollars per person — a bargain, really.
There were other options too: an $899 million family package, a $299 million three-person package, and so on.
No one had bought any yet, but Alex believed they would soon.
Seeing Thor hesitate, Alex said slowly, "Are you underestimating Earth's civilization, or underestimating Hell's Kitchen?"
He noticed Marvel aliens always underestimated Earth, thinking it would be easily destroyed.
Sure, many Earths and even entire multiverses had been destroyed, but those were usually villains born on Earth. Alien invasions always seemed to have a queue.
Thankfully, the invasion was planned for New York City. If it had happened in the East, S.W.O.R.D. would have acted.
S.W.O.R.D. in the East was much stronger than S.H.I.E.L.D.
As Alex thought this, Thor interrupted.
"No matter what, I'll support you, Alex Ray," Thor said seriously.
If Alex's stomach hadn't growled, he might have believed him.
Alex ordered the kitchen staff to prepare food for Thor, then stood, opened a portal, and stepped through.
He still needed help — he couldn't handle everything alone.
As the guardian of Earth and the Sorcerer Supreme, he had to send reinforcements.
Besides, he hadn't seen Doctor Strange in a while. It was time to check on how Strange's magic training in Kamar-Taj was going.
