"Damn it!" Loki roared angrily, his eyes blazing with fury.
That was the exact spot where Alex Ray had just used a portal to steal his precious staff.
His face was as dark and stormy as the clouds overhead, the rage within him threatening to consume the entire world.
Originally, Loki only wanted to flaunt his divine grace before everyone, to demonstrate his majesty and strength.
But he never expected all of that to be ruined by Alex Ray. Not only had Alex interrupted his plan, but the cunning man had also taken the opportunity to snatch his scepter.
Loki's heart burned with anger and resentment. Ever since meeting Alex Ray, his luck seemed cursed. Could this man truly be his nemesis? Loki couldn't help but question his own fortune and power.
Yet, after the battle, Loki realized that the fighting strength of Earth's defenders was far greater than he had anticipated. Reluctant as he was to admit it, the facts were undeniable.
These seemingly ordinary humans could unleash incredible strength and cunning.
But Loki did not despair.
He believed that once the Chitauri army arrived, everything would be settled.
No matter how powerful these Earthlings were, whether in technology or raw strength, Loki was convinced no one could match Thanos. That was why he had chosen to side with Thanos in the first place.
Secretly, Loki swore that once they both were defeated, he would have his revenge on Alex Ray. He would make him pay a hundredfold for the humiliation!
Standing quietly beside Loki was Kaito Daiki, known in another world as Kamen Rider Diend, silently observing Loki's fury.
Kaito admired Alex Ray's style and foresight, especially his ability to arrive first and steal Loki's staff. He looked at Alex with newfound respect.
Kaito was also intrigued by Alex's skill of suddenly appearing with a halo-like portal. It seemed perfectly suited for him, more convenient and practical than his own dimensional wall.
After all, the dimensional wall was too large a target, easy to detect and expose one's position when using it.
But Kaito knew it wouldn't be easy to trade for that skill from Alex. He stroked his chin, deep in thought, pondering what treasure he could offer in exchange.
"Maybe Tsukasa might know something," he muttered, opening his dimensional wall.
"Where are you going?" Loki asked with curiosity.
"I'm going to find help. You want to come?" Kaito waved without turning around.
Hearing this, Loki clenched his teeth. Even this ill-tempered man had allies. Loki wanted to see who they were. Without another word, he vanished into the dimensional portal.
. . . . . . . .
On the other side, after Alex Ray took the scepter in his hand, he began to pry off the gem at its tip.
Immediately, a system prompt sounded in his mind.
"Ding!"
"Energy signature of the Mind Stone detected nearby, beginning absorption."
"System update initiated. Countdown: 24:00."
Then, the Mind Stone vanished from Alex's grasp.
Alex muttered, "Didn't even get a chance to study it, and it's already absorbed. Impatient little thing."
What new abilities would the system gain after absorbing the Mind Stone?
Overall, Alex was very satisfied with this result. He hadn't expected to gain the Soul Stone simply by going on a date.
Loki truly was a treasure trove and a lucky charm.
The loud noise just now didn't go unnoticed. Not only did Falcon hear it, but Iron Man also arrived on the scene.
"Is this... the end?" Tony Stark looked around, searching for enemies.
It seemed everyone now had teleportation abilities. As a technology expert, Tony felt frustrated.
He was seriously considering a trip to Kamar-Taj to learn the magic of portals—so much more convenient.
But Tony remained calm; after all, he was well aware of Alex Ray's power.
Falcon, newly inducted into the Illuminati, felt his worldview shatter. Though he had known Alex was strong, he was still shocked that the fight had lasted less than two and a half minutes.
The Falcon's knight form, one of Alex's summoned warriors, was no stranger to Falcon himself. After all, the Illuminati had a knight too, and Falcon was often on the losing end against Kadoya Kazuto.
Alex could summon over a dozen different knights with just a swipe of a card. Falcon could tell he was no match for any of them.
He desperately wanted to know what these cards were made of. He wanted one.
Not only Alex, but the opposing knight could summon more knights too.
Could it be that the proper use of Kamen Riders was summoning others? That fighting style was incredible. Falcon wished he could "wave people" like that.
Compared to the armored suits of these Kamen Riders, Falcon glanced down at his own red-and-blue suit with wings—and felt it looked plain and ugly.
If only he could get a Kamen Rider transformation device. He had asked Kazuto Kadoya, but Kadoya didn't have any spare devices, and even if he did, it wouldn't be Falcon's turn.
Falcon was a newcomer to the Illuminati, just a scout, and he knew well that to them, he was barely a footnote.
"What else do you want? he interrupted my date with Wanda, and now they want to waste my time," Alex rolled his eyes.
Wanda Maximoff, standing nearby, blushed when she heard Alex's words. She never imagined that the Scarlet Witch herself had just beaten Loki to near incapacitation.
Tony Stark was also staring at Wanda. He had never expected this young woman to be so powerful. After all, Loki was a god, yet Wanda had beaten him without breaking a sweat.
He made a mental note to study anti-Wanda armor more thoroughly.
There were simply too many armors to design, and rare materials were always scarce. Just thinking about it gave Tony a headache.
"This 'god' is too weak. Not all gods can be this powerful," Tony complained.
He felt it was okay for him to claim godhood.
So now he was a god too—Tony Stark, god of technology, he thought with a smile.
"You're not that weak," Alex said, rolling his eyes. "With your current strength, you could definitely beat Loki. But there are still more powerful gods out there."
He never expected Tony to become so arrogant, but Tony had reason to be proud.
Because of Alex Ray's presence, Tony's strength had improved rapidly. Though Tony often lost, his power grew immensely after every battle.
And Alex could easily imagine that Tony now had dozens of suits at home ready for battle in Hell's Kitchen.
"Didn't Loki say he was bringing reinforcements to get revenge? Are we about to be invaded by aliens?"
"Yes, congratulations—but there's no reward!"
