Inside a massive alien warship, Loki and Kaito Daiki were escorted by a squad of disciplined alien soldiers through a silent, sterile corridor. The metallic walls on either side gleamed under faint lighting, casting eerie reflections that gave the entire atmosphere a solemn, almost ceremonial air.
Kaito glanced around curiously as he walked.
The warship was under extremely tight security—every five steps, another team of fully armed alien sentries passed by on patrol. Their weapons shimmered with a cold gleam, exuding a chilling, oppressive pressure.
But Kaito wasn't particularly bothered by it. If anything, he felt a bit excited. The tighter the security, the more likely there were valuable treasures hidden inside.
What intrigued him even more was the appearance of the aliens.
Their gray, weathered skin was rough and cratered, as if carved by centuries of wind and stone. Covered in bumps and protrusions, they looked as though evolution had treated them like a bad joke.
Kaito grimaced in disgust, muttering under his breath, "Are all the aliens in this universe this ugly, or is it just the Chitauri?"
He had traveled through countless dimensions, seen all manner of monstrous species, but something about these Chitauri made his skin crawl.
His thoughts drifted briefly to the insectoid aliens he'd encountered in the Jiadou World. Sure, they were also grotesque—but at least they didn't look this offensively malformed.
As they neared the end of the corridor, a massive metal door loomed before them. One of the alien guards stepped forward and pressed his face to a scanner. After a brief moment, the machinery beeped, and the door slowly parted, revealing a tunnel that led to the heart of the warship.
One of the Chitauri turned to Loki and Kaito and spoke coldly. "His Majesty awaits inside. Enter."
Without another word, he turned back toward the entrance, resuming his post like a programmed sentry.
Loki stared at the low-ranking soldier with a flicker of disdain in his eyes, though his face remained fixed in a practiced smile. Deep within, a cold rage simmered.
A prince of Asgard, disrespected by some footsoldier alien? Outrageous.
"How dare a mere guard speak to royalty like that," Loki muttered under his breath, his tone icy.
He understood his current position well—he was no longer welcome in Asgard. After losing the bid for the throne, he had stumbled into this alien alliance by accident. To these creatures, he was nothing more than a stray dog begging for scraps.
But Loki never forgot. And he never forgave.
If he ever had the chance, he would personally gut the Chitauri commander who just insulted him.
His original plan had been flawless. Thor was supposed to be exiled permanently. And Loki—he should've been basking in glory, dining on Asgardian delicacies, praised by the masses.
But no.
It was all because of Alex Ray.
That cursed man.
Loki's eyes burned with venom at the thought. If it weren't for Alex, he would still be basking in divine power.
Instead, he had to grovel before aliens. And worse, scheme like a rat.
Still, Loki wasn't without hope.
The Cosmic Cube—more properly, the Space Stone—was currently in Alex Ray's possession. That was his inroad. That was his leverage.
He would use the Chitauri to deal with Alex. Let them clash. Let the Titan and the mutant destroy each other. All Loki had to do was survive and pick up the pieces.
Eventually, they reached the heart of the battleship.
At its center loomed a massive obsidian throne, and upon it sat a hulking purple giant—the infamous Thanos.
Even at a glance, Thanos exuded overwhelming power. Loki, seasoned as he was, couldn't help but feel the pressure pressing against his soul.
Before Thanos, five formidable figures stood silently: the Black Order.
Thanos' most trusted generals.
Loki understood that earning Thanos' favor meant navigating the dangerous waters of these five titans.
His gaze first settled on a thin figure with an octopus-like face who stood to Thanos' right—Ebony Maw.
One of Thanos' most intelligent and sinister aides.
Ebony Maw was more than a strategist—he was a manipulator, a master of rhetoric. Loki had heard tales of how Maw could make enemies betray themselves with just a few whispered words. In terms of magical prowess, he might even rival Loki himself.
Loki knew he'd need to tread carefully. Deceiving this one would take more than illusions and charm.
His eyes then shifted to the woman beside Ebony Maw.
She was striking—blue-skinned, blue-haired—radiating mystery and lethal elegance.
Proxima Midnight.
She was Corvus Glaive's wife, another high-ranking member of the Black Order.
Loki knew better than to underestimate her based on appearance or gender. Under Thanos, power determined status—not birth or beauty.
Proxima was a master of cosmic combat, and Loki was fairly certain she could obliterate him in single combat. The spear she carried had been forged by Thanos himself, and its reputation preceded it.
It could release energy equivalent to a dying star.
Loki's breath caught in his throat. That weapon reminded him of Odin's Gungnir—the Spear of Eternity. Its might was terrifying.
Rumor had it that Proxima's spear could manifest a gravity net as heavy as a star, locking down her enemies with no escape. Thrown in battle, it would split into three beams that never missed their mark, homing in until they impaled the target with deadly precision.
A weapon like that…
Loki's eyes sparkled with greed.
Just as he lost himself in that fantasy, a massive shadow loomed over him.
A giant of a man—Black Dwarf—stepped forward and growled, "Boy, you didn't even greet His Majesty. You want to die that badly?"
Loki flinched and snapped out of his thoughts instantly.
The rest of the Black Order now stared at him with icy disdain. His pulse quickened. He couldn't afford to misstep—not here.
Quickly, he dropped to one knee, placed a hand over his heart, and bowed his head respectfully.
"My deepest apologies, Lord Thanos," he said with practiced reverence. "I meant no offense. I bring you news—valuable news—regarding the Cosmic Cube."
Thanos gazed down at him, his expression unreadable.
But Loki could feel it.
The Mad Titan was listening.
And that meant—he still had a role to play.
