Pierce of S.H.I.E.L.D. stared grimly at the man who called himself Loki, perplexed by the sudden appearance of these two strangers.
It should be noted that the current S.H.I.E.L.D. was essentially a one-man operation under Pierce's control—he considered it his own domain.
Loki and his companions had appeared without warning, like uninvited guests showing up at Pierce's personal gathering.
Despite the surprise, Pierce was known for his composure; he didn't order his men to open fire immediately.
However, when Loki claimed to be from Asgard, Pierce's curiosity was piqued. Where was this Asgard? As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he should have known about it. The name sounded familiar but he couldn't place it.
While Pierce was deep in thought, Reed Richards suddenly asked Loki if he knew Thor. Reed had heard of a man called Thor before and knew that Thor had disappeared from Earth. He suspected that Loki and Thor might come from the same place.
At the mention of Thor, Loki's face betrayed no emotion. He answered coldly, "That idiot is my brother."
In his eyes, a flicker of resentment and jealousy flashed, subtle but unmistakable. Reed noticed the change and suspected that Loki's answer was only the beginning.
Suddenly, Loki raised the scepter in his hand. A powerful wave of blue energy shot out from its tip, aimed straight at Reed Richards. Reed reacted swiftly, dodging the attack with quick reflexes.
Pierce wasn't so lucky. Before he could react, Crossbones stepped forward, grabbed Pierce, and flipped them both to safety, narrowly avoiding Loki's devastating blast.
A huge crater had opened where they had been standing. Loki's strike was so strong it tore through the solid floor and triggered a series of explosions. Debris scattered, and thick smoke billowed around them.
The atmosphere in the S.H.I.E.L.D. base instantly turned tense and grim. Everyone realized these intruders were dangerous—far beyond ordinary threats.
Loki's attack was basically a declaration of war on S.H.I.E.L.D. The agents, though loyal and disciplined, were clearly outmatched. Each was an elite, battle-hardened veteran, but none could stand against such overwhelming power.
The agents pulled out their weapons and fired furiously at Loki—but it was futile. Earthly firearms were mere toys against him; bullets bounced off without a scratch.
Loki, like a sorcerer commanding the battlefield, waved his hand, and agents were struck down or killed outright. His speed was incredible, and his use of illusions made him nearly impossible to predict.
Meanwhile, Kaito Daiki—known as Kamen Rider Diend—had already slipped away to watch from a distance.
After all, Loki was the one who nearly claimed Asgard's throne. Despite his reputation as a trickster, his combat ability was formidable. His mastery of illusion and assassination earned him the title of the greatest sorcerer in the Nine Realms—not an exaggeration.
His speed and illusions quickly slaughtered the ordinary agents in minutes.
Only the strongest remained standing.
Pierce, witnessing this devastation, realized this Loki was from the same world as Thor.
He thought bitterly: Could it be that Alex Ray discovered S.H.I.E.L.D.'s conspiracy and sent Loki as revenge? That damn Hell's Kitchen, that damn Alex Ray!
Pierce's anger simmered but he felt powerless. Against such a superhuman force, no number of agents could hope to prevail.
But he refused to give up. His only hope was to call in Kadoya Tsukasa, a Level 7 S.H.I.E.L.D. operative known as Kamen Rider Decade. While Loki was preoccupied, Pierce secretly pressed a hidden emergency phone on his desk—his direct line to Kadoya.
Crossbones saw his chance as well. Quietly moving behind Loki, he prepared to strike.
But Loki was no stranger to sneak attacks—he was a master of them.
He spotted Crossbones immediately.
The moment Crossbones moved, Loki's hand shot out, grabbing him with lightning speed.
Crossbones barely had time to react.
Loki regarded him coldly, a mocking smile curling on his lips.
"You look a lot better than the trash lying on the ground."
Still struggling in Loki's grasp, Crossbones barely held on as Loki waved his scepter. A mysterious power surged from it into Crossbones's body.
Crossbones howled in pain, his body trembling violently as if resisting some internal force.
Loki watched coldly, waiting for surrender.
After about ten seconds, Crossbones's screams ceased, his body stilled, and his pupils turned pitch black.
Loki's interest grew—he hadn't expected such resistance initially.
Once recovered, Crossbones stood silently behind Loki like a loyal hound. There was no anger or defiance in his eyes—only obedience and awe.
Pierce watched in horror.
He understood that Loki had the power to control others—something terrifying beyond imagination.
He cursed silently: "Damn it! Why isn't Kadoya here yet? If he doesn't arrive soon, we're finished!"
At that moment, Pierce was certain Loki's world was one steeped in magic—and even more sure Loki was working with Alex Ray.
Just as Loki raised his scepter to strike Pierce down, Reed interjected, "Sir, we can cooperate."
Loki paused, eyeing Reed with interest. "Cooperate? What makes you think I'd work with a mere mortal like you?"
