Chapter 29 - 29

James quickly replied: Everything is going well, don't worry.

Emily thought about it and sent another message: My dad, didn't come to see you again?

This time, James didn't reply immediately. It wasn't until Emily finished lunch and returned to the laboratory that James called.

"Emily!" James called her name softly on the other end of the phone.

Emily pulled her lips slightly and smiled faintly: "Did something bad happen?"

"Just now William's secretary came and gave me two wedding invitations." James said.

"Huh?" The smile on Emily's face froze slightly. After a while, she asked again: "Who is the bride?"

"Your sister!" James said.

"My sister?" Emily was very surprised, but soon calmed down.

"Last night, William asked Abigail to meet, most likely to talk about marriage. I really don't know what William is thinking. Even if he wants to take revenge on you, he can't just marry a woman casually." James complained on the other end of the phone.

Emily looked up at the ceiling, with a hint of coldness in her eyes.

"When will they hold the wedding?" Emily asked.

"It seems to be very urgent, next Saturday!" James said: "He also specifically asked me to give you the wedding invitation."

"No, I won't go. You can help me send my blessings then." Emily is not unable to face William's marriage, but she can't let Christopher find her now, otherwise there will be a large debt waiting for her to pay.

She believes that if Christopher can't find her, he will pay back the loan shark.

After all, the loan shark company would not give them time to default on such a large sum of money.

Joseph did not return to the manor this week.

Abigail, who had already confirmed her marriage with William, still did not forget the heavyweight and noble man in the manor. She wanted to come to see Joseph several times, but was stopped by the bodyguards.

Emily sometimes stood in front of the French window on the second floor and could see her sister looking forward to it.

After hiding for more than a week, when Michael's special assistant came to pick Emily up for work that day, he told her that Christopher had paid back the loan shark.

Emily listened and smiled slightly: "Thank you for keeping an eye on me."

"The president told me to help you deal with all the difficulties during his absence." Michael sat next to the driver. As he said that, he turned around and looked at Emily.

"I'm actually a little curious. You and Abigail are both Christopher's biological daughters. Why is he so ruthless to you, his daughter, and even deliberately wants you to pay off his debts?"

Emily met his puzzled eyes and sighed softly: "Same person, different fate."

Michael's eyes sank slightly. Although Emily looked sad, she seemed to be very calm and cold, as if nothing could arouse her any injustice or anger.

"You also have a twin brother who was poisoned and injured his brain. He couldn't speak and later got lost." Michael asked slowly again.

Emily was not surprised. It was easy for a powerful man like Joseph to know anything about her family.

She raised her eyes and looked at the scenery outside the window that was rapidly receding. Her voice seemed to have cooled down a bit: "Yes, someone poisoned my brother back then!"

"Do you know who the poisoner was?" Michael had been with Joseph for many years and was also a smart man. At this moment, his shrewd eyes were firmly locked on Emily's face.

"No matter who it was, our president will help you punish the poisoner." Michael added, as if he thought Emily would have some concerns.

Emily lowered her eyes slightly and twitched the corners of her lips: "Who knows?"

But Michael realized from her indifferent performance that Emily must know who harmed her brother back then.

Seeing that he could not find out, Michael changed the subject again: "Your online store has been closed. Is it because you finally came to work at the Drug Research Institute as you wished?"

Emily lowered her eyes, and she quickly understood that Michael wanted to clear her doubts here.

"With a stable job, there is naturally no need to open an online store. After all, that is not a long-term solution." Emily said very cleverly.

"The president will be back tomorrow." Michael suddenly felt that the girl in front of him seemed indifferent, but in fact she was unusually shrewd.

"Do you want me to pick him up at the airport?" Emily asked with a smile.

"No, the president will take a special plane, and the helicopter will go directly back to the helipad in the manor." Michael said.

"Oh!" Emily curled her lips. It turns out that rich people can take a special plane when they travel. No wonder the manor is so big, it turns out that it needs to store airplanes.

Tomorrow is Saturday, the day of William and Abigail's wedding.

Emily didn't plan to go, so she thought that Saturday was a good time to rest, so she waited for Joseph to come back at home.

They didn't call each other for more than a week since he left.

If it weren't for the housekeeper and servants at home, and Michael's special assistant who took special care of her, she would really think that he was deliberately alienating her.

Emily woke up naturally and raised her hand to check the time. It was already past ten in the morning.

She got out of bed and walked to the magnificent French window, looking at the beautiful manor outside the window, but a trace of worry flashed in her eyes.

The phone rang at this time, she picked it up and saw that it was William calling.

"Are you not going to attend my wedding?" William's slightly cold voice came from the other end of the phone.

Emily was slightly stunned, and after a while, she said: "Luo Ye, if you feel happy, I wish you happiness!"

William's eyes suddenly sank, his hand clenched into a fist, and his voice became colder: "If you don't come, I will immediately have someone razed your villa!"
