Chapter 18 - 18

Emily stared and asked James: "You seem to have been preparing for the day in the future you mentioned. What does that day mean? Will I be in big trouble?"

James was unwilling to talk about this topic. When he first knew that Emily and Joseph were getting married, he didn't accept it.

But then he thought that Joseph was the most powerful person in the city after all. Maybe under his protection, Emily's identity would not be too dangerous even if it was exposed.

"No, I just think about danger in times of peace. You know, I was an unwanted street child since I was a child, so I am used to being prepared at all times to face the accidents that may happen in the next second." James said.

Emily nodded slightly, although she always felt that her mother must have said something to James before she died.

But since her mother didn't tell her, James wouldn't tell her either.

As the two were walking out of the yard, Emily's cell phone rang.

She took it out and saw that it was from Michael's assistant who had just separated.

She picked up the phone, and Michael's gentle voice came over from the other end of the phone: "Emily., there is something I think is necessary. Let you know."

"What is it?" Emily asked immediately.

Michael's special assistant on the other end of the phone seemed to be silent for a moment, and then said faintly: "Emily., as far as I know, your father borrowed 5 million from the loan shark company he borrowed from before ten minutes ago."

"What?" Emily heard the news and her head hurt.

"Why did the other party lend him so much money so easily?" she asked.

"Maybe because he used his company as collateral to borrow money before, we quickly paid him back, and he has credit with the loan shark company, so it's not difficult to borrow again." Michael's assistant said.

"Okay, I got it. Thank you for letting me know." Emily said, and then she hung up the phone.

"What's wrong?" James asked with concern.

"My dad borrowed another five million in high-interest loans. It seems that he really thinks that I have the money left by my mom, so he wants to force me to hand over the money in this way." Emily sighed, looking depressed.

"Now it seems that your dad is really a bottomless pit. He has no company, so he will naturally miss your money and try every means to squeeze you dry. But you obviously don't have any money here. Money." James couldn't help but frowned and looked at Emily.

"I even sold my body, how can I have money to pay off his debts. Since he wants to borrow, then go and pay it back yourself! I won't care anymore." Emily bit her lip and said.

James sighed, and his eyes deepened slightly when he looked at Emily.

After all, there is blood ties, and he is really worried that she can't ignore this matter.

"Okay, let's not talk about this anymore, let's go eat first!" Emily said to James.

After the two of them went back to a random small restaurant in the city and had dinner, they left separately.

Before they separated, James said he would think of a way to see if he could convince William to give up the villa.

Emily didn't want to go home, so she walked outside until it was almost dark before returning to the manor.

As soon as she entered the house where they were living now, she saw Daniel sitting in the living room, Christopher, Mrs. Christopher and Abigail, all sitting on the side, smiling and accompanying them.

"Damn girl, where do you go to fool around every day!" Christopher was inexplicably angry when he saw Emily, always thinking that this daughter was really raised in vain, hiding a large sum of money but not giving it to him to honor him.

Emily raised her eyes and glanced at her father with a gentle look full of disgust.

 She smiled politely at Daniel.

"Emily., our young master invites you to come over tonight for a gathering." Daniel explained his intention of coming here after seeing Emily.

"Tonight!" Christopher and Mrs. Christopher were a little excited when they heard it, but they were also a little worried that they would be stood up like the previous two nights.

"Yes, now you can go with me!" Daniel said, and got up and walked out.

Christopher and Mrs. Christopher also got up and followed him out.

When Abigail walked to Emily's side, she deliberately glared at her and warned in a low voice: "Emily, you have to know that you can live here now because my mother and Daniel are relatives. When you see the young master later, please restrain your seductive aura and don't seduce men casually."

Emily laughed softly, and glanced at Abigail indifferently and sarcastically as if she was looking at an idiot.

Seeing that she didn't respond, Abigail shrugged proudly, stepped on her high heels, and walked out gracefully.

Emily finally followed him to the main house of the manor.

The luxury of the main house was beyond her imagination, and it also made her know more clearly what a truly luxurious life is like.

In the restaurant, the servants had prepared the dishes and stood respectfully by the side, waiting for their master to come to eat.

Emily and the others were invited into the restaurant and sat in the designated seats.

Looking at Emily sitting on the side of the master's seat, Abigail looked dissatisfied, but she didn't dare to ask Daniel who arranged them to sit, so she could only glare at Emily fiercely.

Emily had guessed that the owner of this manor was most likely Joseph.

Otherwise, Daniel and those servants would not be so polite and nice to her alone.

When the servants standing behind him and Daniel bowed their heads respectfully and called him "Master", Emily's eyebrows jumped, and she raised her head and looked in the direction of the entrance to the restaurant.
