Chapter 4 - The Hope and A God?

Chapter 3: The Hope and A God?

The strange white room didn't arouse any emotions in Victor. He only felt it was a bit odd that he had suddenly arrived in such an unusual place.

'There is no lighting inside this space, and the sun is also not present in the endless white, so how is this room so bright?'

It was a question Victor didn't know the answer to, but did he want to find out how it was possible?

The answer was no. He couldn't be bothered by such things. The world didn't interest him anymore, no matter how fascinating this space was.

He just sat down on the ground as constant thoughts of Anya streamed through his mind—many beautiful memories that made him feel only a bit alive. However, the end was always the same. The same vivid image of her dead body would make him aware of the reality he was in, and his eyes became soulless once again.

Time started to pass, but he didn't care if he had any food or water here or not. He just sat there, reminiscing about the past he once had.

Hunger began to kick in, and through various signs, his body was telling him he needed food and drink. But he didn't bother to even stand up. He only glanced at the area around him for a moment, seeing the same endless white space, then continued in his own world of past and imagination.

A being who was witnessing everything that was happening inside the white space felt annoyed by his lackluster response. At first, like any normal human, he had thought Victor would try to find out about the mysterious white space or find a way to escape.

It would have been entertaining, but his fun was ruined, which he didn't like one bit.

However, to teach the defiant man in front of him a lesson, he decided to leave him be. Surely for a mortal like him, hunger would definitely make him act.

But Victor hadn't moved once after sitting on the ground. The once boring response had now started to become entertaining through its very lackluster and dull nature.

"I haven't seen such an interesting one after so much time."

The being believed there was no point in waiting now, as he couldn't harm the mortal by his direct influence. So he materialized in front of him, and this time he was confident he would get a reaction from the man sitting before him.

"Victor Black."

Victor suddenly heard a strange voice. It felt almost unreal, as he could tell no human could ever sound like that as the voice was buzzing in his ears.

He looked up at whoever was the cause of that noise which called his name. He could see a kid who seemed no more than seventeen years old. His eyes were of a strange color—cosmic-looking. He could see the blend of different colors in them. His hair was of that same color too, and he wore a black tuxedo.

There was only one thought that arose in Victor's mind as he looked at the boy.

'A clown.'

The neutral look on the being's face changed slightly as his mouth twitched a little bit as if he had heard what Victor had thought in his mind.

'I would have killed this human for calling me a clown if it weren't for the laws that are restraining me from doing so,' the being thought.

He could still do it by breaking the rules, but the consequences would be too dire, and it wouldn't be worth it for him. And also, this human looked quite interesting. He knew he would be rather great entertainment for him—the God of Entertainment.

'Let's see how much you could entertain me before you perish like many before you.'

This man in front of him, Victor Black, was the perfect type of human he needed. Those who are desperate and a bit crazy—it could be anything that he would use to entice them, whether greed, pride, lust, envy, gluttony, sloth, or wrath. These were great tools he could use against them to make them his form of entertainment.

'Every single human mostly falls into these emotions in one way or another,' the being thought.

He didn't know much about him other than the fact that Victor Black fulfilled the condition for him to interfere with his life. But he didn't have much time, so he had to make it quick, as he had removed him from his world when his presence would barely affect any causality of the world in any form.

Victor didn't look back at the clown after giving him only a glance.

However, the next words he heard from the boy caused him to abruptly stand up from his place.

"I am a God."

'A God!'

What did that word represent to him? While he may not believe in any God, from what he knew, they were beings who had created the world he lived in and could practically do anything.

A slim hope arose in his heart. It was too vague, but he still chose to hang on to it.

He didn't know if the boy or the entity in front of him was a god or a devil—he didn't care. But from what he could tell from their previous interaction, he appeared in front of him out of nowhere suddenly, as if he materialized out of thin air, and the strange white space he couldn't comprehend, definitely told him that the boy in front of him was not normal.

"Are you really a god who can do anything?"

The boy showed a smile on his face. The smile didn't have any warmth in it—only amusement.

'Are you joking? Anything? I can't even kill you because of the fucking rules I have to follow. But from the perspective of an inferior human like him, I can do anything.'

"Yes."

After saying those words, the being snapped his fingers as the white space around them turned into a completely different place. Victor was standing on endless green grass, a bright blue sky was above, and there was a sun and full moon in the sky at the same time.

"I know what you were thinking. Is this proof enough?"
