Chapter 5 - Taking Action (1)

The Hokage Tower loomed ahead and the moment I reached the door, it opened on its own.

"Come in, Fugaku."

The voice was stern—far sharper than I remembered.

I stepped inside.

Hiruzen Sarutobi sat behind his desk, hands clasped, face dark with anger.

Beside him sat Danzo Shimura, his single visible eye cold and calculating. Other two senior advisors were also present.

The atmosphere was heavy.

Hiruzen spoke first, his voice carrying unmistakable fury.

"Fugaku," he said, "what is the meaning of this?"

His gaze sharpened.

"How dare your clan arrest so many villagers?

How dare you detain ANBU operatives?

And how dare you arrest my son—and accuse him of being a spy?"

His chakra flared slightly.

"Are you planning to rebel?"

I froze—just for a moment.

This tone…

This was not the indecisive, hesitant man I remembered from history.

Then the system spoke.

[You removed the debuff enforcing plot compliance.]

And suddenly—it clicked.

If someone arrested my child then What father would remain calm?

Danzo slammed his cane against the floor.

"So it's finally happening," he snarled.

"Konoha is fighting for survival outside, and yet the Uchiha stir chaos within!

Arresting civilians, clashing with ANBU—truly, the Uchiha are evil by nature!"

His killing intent spiked.

For a split second, rage surged within me.

"Add the debuff back" i whispered and then i look at Danzo but before I could speak, Hiruzen raised a hand.

"Enough, Danzo."

"The Uchiha are part of Konoha," Hiruzen said coldly.

"They have shed blood for this village just like any other clan."

I narrowed my eyes.

This change… is drastic.

Danzo stared at Hiruzen in disbelief.

On the other hand, Hiruzen's thoughts were racing.

How did I lose my composure like that?

I must maintain my image—especially before Fugaku.

Especially now.

I inhaled slowly and bowed slightly.

"Lord Hokage," I said calmly, "please explain the situation.

I am currently unaware of the full details."

One of the advisors frowned.

"How can you not know what is happening within your own Security Department?"

Hiruzen sighed.

"Forget it. I'll explain."He picked up a document.

"An Uchiha ninja named Uchiha Rin arrested my son.

He was drunk, arguing with a shopkeeper over the price of ninja tools."

His expression tightened.

"The shopkeeper had raised prices due to the ongoing war.

Rin deemed it illegal profiteering and made an arrest."

"And when villagers protested," Hiruzen continued,

"they were arrested as well—for obstructing law enforcement."

He slid the report across the desk.

I read it and frowned.

This was excessive.

Too excessive in fact.

"This man," I thought, "is definitely problematic." He might be a transmigrator.

But what kind?

I straightened and look and the old man.

"I will personally handle this matter," I said.

"You will receive a formal response from the Uchiha Clan."

Hiruzen nodded slowly.

I turned to leave and rushed towards the Uchiha clan and as i entered the building my eye meet a handsome boy around 16 years old surrounded by female ninjas of the clan, I spoke internally.

"System—can you detect anything unusual about this Rin?"

[He have different energy then chakra inside his body.] I nodded and then spoke.

"…Could he have a system too that rewards him by collecting emotiona of others?" I muttered inwardly.

"There are systems like that and if he have that then it can explain his behaviour."

[Unlikely.]

[If a system existed, I would have detected its signature.]

I frowned.

"Can other systems detect you?"

[Of course not.]

[I am different.]

[Even higher-grade systems cannot perceive me.]

[I am protected by the contract you signed.]

"…Protected?"

Silence followed.

Then understanding struck me like lightning. A faint, dangerous smile appeared in my eyes.

This… is the best possible outcome.
