The next day Alex Billie's best friend, joined the search party to find Billie. The police still investigating but so far,they've found no sign of Billie, but Alex is not giving up anytime soon so she starts to search the town, talking to people who might have seen Billie.
As Alex searches, she begins to notice that the people in town seem hesitant to talk about Billie. Some seem scared, while others appear nervous. Alex can't understand why people in town wouldn't want to help find Billie.
Alex decides to investigate Billie's phone records and social media activity, as she was the one who Billie gave her phone,last night. She discovered a cryptic message on Billie's phone,sent to an unknown number, just hours before she disappeared. The message reads:I know what you did ."Alex is unsure who sent the message or what it means, but she's convinced it's connected to Billie's disappearance.
Alex also discovers that Billie had been searching some strange topics online, including a local legend about a mysterious figure that's said to roam the town at night. Alex starts to wonder if Billie's disappearance is more than just a random act.
As the search party continues, Alex with Billie's family, who are growing increasingly desperate. Billie's mum is beside herself, and her dad is trying to stay strong ,but Alex can see the fear in his eyes. But Alex is already determined to dig deeper in order to fin Billie even if it means going against the police or confronting the people in town who seem to be hiding secrets.
