Kaijuno's POV
It was the day after the founder's festival, the general atmosphere in the city felt worn out from all the excitement that erupted last night.
I myself tuckered out as well so I slept in more than my usual routine. Although it wasn't sleeping, more like laying on my bed while I have Vulprower nuzzle my entire head. This is actually suffocating but thankfully I don't need to breathe to begin with as a slime.
Finally forcing myself out of bed, I made a b line straight towards city hall. School is still out so I'm basically free to do what I want and strange things does happen from time to time at city hall if you're lucky to run into it
Before I even stepped foot inside, I could sense a crowd in one of the rooms. I wasn't sure why we were having any activities especially afterall of the excitement from the last few days
When I got close to the room, I can tell there was a bunch of chatter and blabbering. It was in regards to the paying off the merchants. That was when I completely lost interest, I may be a villain but I wasn't interested in becoming politically evil, it just too much work. It was also looking like it was gonna be settled anyways.
Conveniently as I made up my mind the pair of doors to the room had open for Rimuru's exit. But with my own precense being revealed which seemed to erupt the desperate merchants and news reporters. They were scrambling in their pleas for me to hear them out, to let them do commercial activities in Tempest. To be compassionate and fair, how they were just new to making commercial deals with monster. All while the news reporters were taking note
Utter crap they twist in their favor. First thing to do in the morning of all things was this, moments like these are what make me question why I bother getting out of bed. All of this was also being lead by a high ranking noble from the kingdom of Ghastone named Meuse
Lacking patience but still reluctantly keeping my professional stance, I made some firm remarks to shoo them off
Kaijuno: Are you not getting payed? Cause I'm seeing stacks of Dwarven coins right on that table. I failed to see the problem here
Meuse: B-b-but denying our right to preform commercial activities is quite extreme. We just wanted to be sure we would be paid in the correct currency as this is first we made buisness with monsters
Kaijuno: First off, what does us being monsters have to do with anything? What specific factor makes it questionable in comparison to making deals with another human who is completely capable of trying to scam you?
Meuse: it's just that previously presented currency wasn't acceptable for the merchants to accept under the international law of the western council
Kaijuno: . . . And I should care becaaaaause-
Meuse: Well it's due to-
Kaijuno: Oh my Rimuru, I was being sarcastic
Rimuru: (Did he just referred me as his god? Is he still on that whole Kaimuruism buisness?)
Kaijuno: Here's another question for ya, you likely have access to the news, so did you hear any headlines about Tempest joining the western council? No? Then the whole "international law" arguement is practically useless. In other words if this somehow didn't cross your mind, we're not a member of the western council so we are not obligated to abide by the laws of the western councils! So why bother bringing that up to begin with!
Meuse: Ok I see where you're getting at-
Kaijuno: Also in regards to the whole currency situation, that's really not our problem either
Meuse: you surely don't mean to leave all these merchants high and dry are you?
Kaijuno: high and dry? Excuse me but this was never the case of not getting paid genius. We have the money and we offered it in trade for your service which I'm sure the contract had in writing so this isn't a case of going back on our words on this
Meuse: but the curren-
Kaijuno: And NOBODY! Absolutely no one, AT ALL! Thought to verify that priorly on what currency they're being paid in?
Don't these merchants travel to different nations as well so isn't trade in more than one currency suppose to be part of their expertise in buisness. There's a good chance you could that currency traded into Dwarven coin in the Dwargon's bank in due time afterall how did you think we were able to get this at the last minute to begin with
This is really just looks like no one here verified anything beforehand as they should and tried to pin that incompetence on us. No, we didn't need to make any last minute compromises, we could've just simply kept to our original agreement ON PAPER, you could've either accepted as it is or you could left dry on your of volition. The gold was there the whole time, everyone was just being picky
Meuse: That's quite harsh, its just that it would be a given it would take more than a little convincing to trust an up and coming buisness
Kaijuno: Trust? Business doesn't revolve around trust. It's profit and apathy going hand and hand together, that's why the greedy and ambitious are successful. Any of you heard of the phrase "time is money"? Cause for this case, I see you all as a waste of my time
Having settled with my overly extended rant, I just turn to swiftly exit the scene to go eat some crepes for breakfast, leaving a distraught noble and group of merchants bewildered. As for new reporters, they were going off on sayings like "that's a demon lord for you" and "imagine if he was a member of the western council"
Rants like that relief me that I could make extra time to think of the details to say with thought acceleration. I also hoped they didn't need to fact check half of the stuff I spewed out as I wasn't even sure Dwargon actually have a bank to begin with
Take what you will about my professionalism but I'd rather keep the politics off of my back. Also hopefully this would save me the trouble of dealing with the western council personally, I would really rather have Rimuru deal with that like in canon cause I recall that was not at all a fun time.
3rd Person Pov
With the leave of both of the country's rulers, the merchants only fell further into despair as for the noble, he was left speechless and shocked for what he had briefly went through
Meuse: (That was the demon lord!? Given his young appearance he would've been an opening to make a recovery on my standing but instead he just further cemented my failure. I thought the princess was already cunning but he's far more gruesome. He didn't hesitate to spin our pressure and reason back on us.
The princess already said they'll be making an economic empire out of their nation, but if that was all making sure they didn't get screwed over, imagine what they could be capable of when they're driven to go on the offensive. The demon lord's brutal ambition, I can see it rivaling or even surpassing the Rosso's merciless greed in due time. No wonder they wanted to get Tempest under their thumb as soon as possible
Speaking of who, they are definitely not going to be pleased with what has happened. They aren't kind as to spare failures amongst their command)
That night would be the final night anybody would hear of Meuse, as it would be if he just suddenly disappeared by the command of a superior power.
Speaking of said superior powers, two of it's members were communicating via magic orb. The youngest, Mariabelle who is taking a carriage ride and the eldest, Granbelle who is residing at the Rosso family's home base of operations
Mariabelle: Overall, our progress has not been as effective as we wished for it to be
Granbelle: This has definitely gone beyond a rare obstacle for us. Not only was pinning hinata against the newest demon lord never lead to anything but to end up establishing ties with Tempest and Luberious but event the operation we conducted during the festivel hardly went anywhere.
Mariabelle: Is there anything planned for our next step?
Granbelle: Nothing immediate at least, with how much of a stone wall Tempest had turned out to be, we have far less leeway compared to our other operations. The closest we have to measure the demon lord's strength is with the stalemate between hinata and princes Rimuru, it's highly likely Kaijuno is a step above them both as the demon lord
Mariabelle: I wouldn't say it's a completely suffocating situation. During the conflicts amongst the merchants, Kaijuno immediately gave off a presence of malice towards them. It's as if he holds a personal distain for them. This can used in our advatange if we play our cards rights
Granbelle: Likely in regards to the western council
Mariabelle: Exactly, Princess Rimuru had expressed in interest to have Tempest join the western council. It would expected as if they wished their economy to flourish, they'll need to gain influence from foreign nations. But for Kaijuno, he didn't seem to care about the Western Council. Using our own influence, we can get the council to offer an invitation to Tempest for a trial meeting on whether or not they can join
Granbelle: and to have them specifically request demon lord Kaijuno as the representative
Mariabelle: Indeed, if we give an ounce of an opening for rimuru to attend, it would likely end with Tempest's smooth entree into the council
Granbelle: But with Kaijuno's malicious and brash behavior, it's practically guaranteed a sour reputation for Tempest amongst the west. Afterall, putting a demon lord in a room full of politicians is a horrific combination. Also if there's a small chance that the Light-speed Hero really is in association with Kaijuno, this could finally start putting dent in both of their reputation via connection
Mariabelle: You have your own gripe against Masayuki?
Granbelle: Yes, as a former hero myself, it disgust me how attention seeking the newest hero is. And with how trouble the newest demon lord is, the same potential goes for the newest hero. For now though, we'll focus on the demon lord as he is an immediate issue. The hero will be next on our list
Mariabelle: Hero or Demon Lord, it won't matter in the end for I am Mariabelle the Greedy. No one can stop me from claiming what I desire and this world was created for the Rosso's
Granbelle: Absolutely, the ambition of another is meaningless to the Rosso's.
Mariabelle: Take care on your end Granbelle, I'll be starting operations with the council once I make it to Ingraccia
Granbelle: Very well
Concluding their conversation, both shut off their respective magic orb, although for the elder of the two, shortly after began talk with an old ally of their through thought communication
Razul: Granbelle
Granbelle: hm? Razul? It has been a while since we last spoke. What's the occasion? Has something anything changed in your defense against the demons?
Razul: Nothing in regards to the demons. It's just that I have been receiving signals as of recently
Granbelle: signals? Signals from who?
Razul: I'm . . . not sure, infact the majority of the singal is very encrypted, the only word I can make out from it is . . . "Ivarage". And that word in particular tempts me. I'm can resist it for the time being although it still comes into question of where these signals are coming from
Granbelle: Ivarage? I believe I heard of that word prior. I have been recieveing news actually about a sort of cult across multiple nations. They referred to themselves "The Children of Ivarage". Could there really be a sort of connection?
Razul: Most definitely so, but I fail to see they would want from me specifically. And the word or name even, "Ivarage" does feel somewhat familiar although more instinctual as I particularly don't recognized it from anywhere. I just hope it won't lead back to the other insectars
Granbelle: We've been keeping under a low profile for a while now. I'm sure a cult called "The Children of Ivarage" wouldn't have any insectars amongst them
As the two continue in their chat, an ego of avarice highly hidden that even the user of their residing skill wasn't even aware of their existence. This was a being ancient times, the creator and divine ancestors of the majority of the Cardinal World's many species and the father of the queen of nightmares, Twilight Valentine
Twilight: Seems ol Mariabelle wasn't pleased with her little trip. Personally I found it all quite amusing. I wasn't initially interested in the newest demon lord especially when the last handle ended up becoming complete thuds. But I had only viewed the newbie for a few days and I can already see him make a name for himself.
Many initiatives to rope in many that can't bring themselves to refuse. And also getting many merchants from all over under their thumb with no mercy. I'm sure my main copy within Velzard holds the same thoughts.
It's not everyday the desire of another revivaled my current host. The only other example at the moment is the guild master Yuuki who Mariabelle have yet to notice is truly under her control. Maybe if things don't work out well with Mariabelle I could transfer greed to either of the two. I'll let fate decide the outcome of this threeway stand off. The worst that could happen is my main ego needing to produce another copy for the next candidate.

*At an Inn*
In a room mainly consisting of two beds, sat two figure in each respective beds, Yuuki the Guildmaster and his assistant Kagali the former Curse Lord who were going over their findings over their time at the festival
Yuuki: phew! Rimuru was right, the bathhouses really were as refreshing as they were back at Japan
Kagali: I kinda wish we have some of them back at Ingraccia
Yuuki: Yeah, I kinda feel stupid getting elevators but not bathhouses to be a thing before coming here. Although yet again we already made a deal with rimuru to set up a freedom association guild here so maybe we can just set up our main shop here rather than going through the trouble of making our own
Kagali: Speaking of who
Yuuki: Yeah, the main point of our time here is to see about their strength. I could feel that Rimuru's strength had grown since our last meet up. But the biggest factor to make note of is the demon lord Kaijuno
Kagali: more like lack of a factor to make
Yuuki: yeah, unfortunately I didn't really get a good of him at all during the festival
Kagali: the same goes for me, I hardly had much opportunity to analyze him let alone any success reading his strength
Yuuki: Yeah, and I think I know why. You saw the mask he wears? Well I recognize that type of mask anywhere. My old sensei Shizue had a anti magic mask that was really good in concealing power.
Kagali: Are you saying Kaijuno was able to get his hands on one of those types of magic items?
Yuuki: Not necessarily come across one, as far as I knew, Shizue's mask was one of a kind so there's more of a possibly that he was able to copy it. Besides the goofy face drawn on it, the material and shape of the mask is identical to shizue's
Kagali: Safe to say just by that alone, Demon Lord Kaijuno must have some strength under his sleeve
Yuuki: Yeah, but even if a confrontation were to come between me and either of the two, I'm sure I could win
Kagali: In regards to that possibility
Yuuki: right right, there's still the whole matter of our standing with them. Knowing rimuru, I wouldn't say the idea of our previous involvement flew over their head
Kagali: and could our attendance have hinted them idea?
Yuuki: I doubt anything we did during our time here would give them anything concrete, although it wouldn't mean we're out of the woods yet. Any possible dot connections could still mean they can find us responsible
Kagali: so we're basically on PR management
Yuuki: Yup! Fortunately I already figured out a way to escape this predicament
Kagali: How so?
Yuuki: Simple, we just pin this on Mariabelle. As a member of the Rosso family, she has high influence in the west which can include the former Falmuth, she also a sinister girl so the mass death would be surprising if it was her doing. And she herself think I am actually under her control, so if I were confronted, I could put on a mind control act and she would unknowingly assist in making it believable.
In the end it would look like Mariabelle was the mastermind all along and I was just another victim in her scheme. I've been on thin ice I didn't get that dragon core she wanted from Dragon's Peak so I've been looking to finally cut ties with her
Kagali: ok, at least settled one of our problems
Yuuki: . . . Still focused on him huh?
Kagali: . . . Yes, if he were dead, I would feel any connection left, but it doesn't like what I suspected. More like our connection is under interference or corrupted. I just don't want to accept the reality that he failed my chance to truly reunite with Clayman before he was gone
Yuuki: Hey hey hey, I'm sure if it's not zero then it's a pretty good chance he is still kicking. I'm sure it's not at all too late
Kagali: . . . Thanks Yuuki
Yuuki: Of course, Now! Let's get some early shut eye since we'll be heading back to Ingraccia first in the morning
Kagali: right, also you better not do anything "funny" again this night Yuuki

It was late in the afternoon, a couple of days has passed since the end of the founder's festival and everyone is decompressing at the Jura Tempest Bar after a quick day of work. I myself was hanging out with the boys as I used Humility King Mikael's Unity Resolve as we were served beer and milk by the bartender Treyni
Kaijuno: So how's the whole "Love Dramatic" going for ya Benjamin
Benjamin: oh my goodness, it's been hectic. It's only been a few days but Albis and Momiji are not hesitant in their pursuit which only encouraged many other women to be more aggressive
Leonardo: So it's that bad
Masayuki: Ugh! I thought I was overwhelmed with the crowd. To think there is a step worst
Kaijuno: No there's definitely some freaks amongst your admirers, there was even a handful at the tournament
Gobta: I'm suprised Leonardo isn't dealing with this type of stuff
Leonardo: It goes against my expertise to go out openly in public. Also I'm not really interested in obtaining a harem
Benjamin: cause besides Souka your biggest harem candidates are freaky as hell?
Leonardo: I'm especially not interested in those type of people . . . And you're looking too much into me and souka, I'm just looking out for my junior is all that it is

Masayuki: Yeah I'm with Leonardo on this one. I'd rather be in a monogamous relationship than a polygamy one
Gobta: Personally I'd like to have a harem, two or maybe even three although I'm not against having just one partner either
Kaijuno: Honestly ever since we started this whole "Love Dramatic" thing, its seems like there was been a rise of potential harems. A good handful of guys has been asked out by more than one gal
Gobta: I think this isn't just a guy thing, I'm pretty sure some ladies were being asked out too
Masayuki: So there's reverse harems being made too?
Leonardo: I actually been hearing word about this too. Even Cameilla and Lavandra were getting caught up in the love dramatic situation too

Gobta: Yeah actually, a good amount of my squad members have a crush on Lavandra while Cameilla is popular with the dwarves
Benjamin: Yeah but no one has been successful though especially with my father being the protective dad and scaring off anybody who pursue
Leonardo: It's quite a backwards situation with yours and Cameilla's love life huh?
Benjamin: Yeah but yet again I also don't want Cameilla to just end up with anybody who asked her out of nowhere

Gobta: I mean, I know I'm a bit forward at times but I don't actually view every female sexually or romantically. I acknowledge why people would be attracted to them but they're basically at most friends to me

Leonardo: That honestly the most surprising thing I heard in a good while
Gobta: Even I'm not a degenerate 100% of the time, I can have platonic feelings too
Masayuki: What about you Treyni? Anybody confessed to you?
Treyni: I had a few but I always turned them down. I'm not really interested in pursuing a relationship nor do I need a partner for reproduction as a spiritual life form. If anything I worry it get in the way of my servitude for Ramiris-Sama
Kaijuno: (Oh my Rimuru! I just realized Treyni is basically Ramiris's Diablo!)
Benjamin: Hold on! Hold on! About the whole Love Dramatic, I think we have yet to acknowledge the Ogre Bear in the room

Leonardo: Actually I'm suprised we didn't brought this up immediately
Masayuki: oh yeah, Kaijuno is the king, there's gotta be a good chunk of the population interested
Gobta: It's a practically a given there would be line formed already
Treyni: I'm sure a good couple of maidens have their hearts for Kaijuno-Sama, right?
Kaijuno: . . . Heh, the number of hearts I have already claimed is the equivalent to my tolerance to alcohol

Leonardo: Actually I think it does have a factor

Leonardo: With your shortness, it's actually easy for someone to see you as a kid instead of an adult, it's even more vague when you're wearing your mask most of the time. It also doesn't help that you actually go to school with other children
Benjamin: Oh you're right! Plus some people might not take into account Kaijuno's age from his previous life as well so he's practically a young kid
Gobta: OOOOOOOOOOH! No wonder why Kaijuno is allowed in the ladies bath
Masayuki: So basically no one wants to risk outing themselves as a massive creep
Benjamin: Yeah, Kaijuno's case is a bit complicated for a love dramatic to form casually

The bar convo continued on with beer and cup full of milk in hands, later on that night, I head over to city hall as I had a word to say to Diablo for a certain adventure I know he'll go through shortly down the line of the story
Kaijuno: Uh, hey Diablo
Diablo: hm? Yes Kaijuno?
Kaijuno: Is it true that you've been busy multitasking?
Diablo: Yes I have fact been doing many things as of recently, serving Rimuru-Sama tea, washing Rimuru-Sama's clothes, cleaning Rimuru-Sama's office, organizing Rimuru-Sama's schedule, giving Rimuru-Sama shoulder massages although they rarely let me do that
Kaijuno: (Oh WOW! He really doesn't shut up)
Kaijuno: even the stuff that doesn't involve Rimuru like foreign affairs?
Diablo: Yes unfortunately, bleak days like those always leave me depressed. Not being by Rimuru-Sama's side is the most miserable feeling I could experience. I've actually been considering inviting some of my old associates to help relieve my work load so I can spend more time serving Rimuru-Sama
Kaijuno: Most definitely demons huh? And knowing you're a primordial, I'm guessing it's the other ones huh?
Diablo: Of course, mere lowly demons can't hope to be worthy to serve Rimuru-Sama. The remaining primordials are the closest I can make an exception in order to take off my workload
Kaijuno: So what you want is solely to spend more time with Rimuru? No matter the cost?
Diablo: There's no cost too great to be of service to Rimuru-Sama
Kaijuno: So hey then, Diablo. Could I actually come with you to the demon realm?
Diablo: No
Kaijuno: Why not?
Diablo: I don't see why that would benefit me
Kaijuno: (It's Guy Crimson all of again. Needing a whole lot of convincing)
Diablo: If you have nothing else to say I'll take my leave
Kaijuno: Wait! Wait! Wait! The reality is, I may or may not have gotten in cahoots with the yellow primordial and I'm kinda concerned she may be running out of patience after our initial meeting
Diablo: And why should I be concerned?
Kaijuno: It's an open reputation that she sends a world destroying nuke at Leon's domain, if I keep her waiting anymore, I'd think there's a good chance she'll come here and launch one on this city too
We can't risk that, it would surely inconvenience Rimuru- Rimuru-Sama
Diablo: If anything happens I'm sure Rimuru-Sama can handle it if it were to happen
Kaijuno: Seeing from what I saw, Jaune will likely just flee since Leon said she's prone to do that
Diablo: Is fighting against Jaune really all your after?
Kaijuno: what do you mean?
Diablo: if you want to fight Jaune, you can simply wait for me to return with her. Your insistence doesn't come off as impatience. So why do you really want to go to the demon realm?
Kaijuno: (He saw right through me! I get that he easily one of the most intelligent characters in the series but he figured me out. Lying would likely not work nor help my case. Although being upfront wouldn't really be helpful either. Yagami can please help me out with this)
Yagami: (Affirmative)
Taking advantage of thought acceleration, I went over with Yagami on how I can twist this into my favor. And knowing this was Diablo of all people, I should've went with this tactic from the beginning
Kaijuno: Why I want come with you to the demon realm is because I really really REALLY want to actually make the remaining primordials my subordinates
Diablo: Then it's a hard no
Kaijuno: WHAT IF I TOLD YOU! That this arrangement actually gets you Rimuru-Sama all to yourself
Diablo: . . . I'm listening
Kaijuno: there's a hierarchy in regards to a demons age right? It's a given the younger submit to the authorization of the elder. But the one's you're pursuing are at the same ranking in this hierarchy as you. Meaning, if you order them to not get close to Rimuru-Sama . . . they won't listen
Diablo: w-what!!? Are you saying-
Kaijuno: Yeah! That's right Diablo, meaning that you'll have competition if you recruit them under Rimuru-Sama's rule, they'll be just fascinated as you. They'll be begging for Rimuru-Sama's attention, meaning less time for you to spend with Rimuru-Sama as they'll be busy with the other primordials.
Think about it! There'll be a line to serve Rimuru-Sama tea, there'll be a line to recieve Rimuru-Sama's headpats, there'll be a line to be put on a leash and be walked around like Rimuru-Sama's dog, there would even a line to be . . . Rimuru-Sama's chair
Diablo: w-w-what!?
Kaijuno: Yes Diablo, that all could be your's only but with the other primordials around, you gotta share being a chair
Diablo: H--h-how did I not consider this!? I was so caught in relieving my work load that I failed to realize this bring me back to the same problem!
Kaijuno: (Holy crap! It's actually working)
Yagami: (Notice, of course it's working)
Kaijuno: (whatever)
Yagami: (hmph!)
Kaijuno: and that's the benefit! Think about it! If we have them with me, their attention wouldn't be focused on rimuru-sama, meaning no one to get in your way
Diablo: . . . Hmmm, that's a tempting offer, but I'm still not completely sure about this arrangement
Kaijuno: Why not?
Diablo: What's to say you won't use the other primordials to rebel against Rimuru-Sama?
Kaijuno: Uh what good would a couple of primordials even do? Rimuru-Sama could just blink them away out of existance obviously. Besides what's the need to rebel against Rimuru-Sama, their ruling is perfection and absolute. Anyone who thinks otherwise is the biggest fool in existence.
Diablo: hmmm, I still feel like it's not completely beneficial though
Kaijuno: then how about a sort of middle ground. I solely attempt to recruit them to my side, if my attempts don't end up working out, they'll be yours for the taking
Diablo: hmmm
Kaijuno: To help sweeten the deal, I can give you some Rimuru-Sama merchandise from my collection
Diablo: my own collection has been vast since my spending in the festival. I doubt you have anything that I have yet to claim
Kaijuno: (Oh! So it was him!)
Kaijuno: They didn't have everything. I know there was some merch that came and went before you arrived at tempest, some that are no longer in stock. If you agree to this, the out of stock merch will be yours
Diablo: Deal!
Kaijuno: (YES! Why didn't I think of this tactic sooner!? Just pull what Guy Crimson did, kiss up Rimuru to the extreme to persuade Diablo. Diablo may be one the smartest people in this series, but say the right words and he'll be easy to mess around with.

In the edge of a flat ice floor, layed a small fur ball of a demon lord who failed to reach the ocean floor, covered in frost and ice while being monitored by a prideful demon
Guy: So not today either I see
Kaijuno: . . .
Guy: Yeah it turns out, the ice and shivering water produced by Velzard's aura is dangerously cold, seems even to the point of freezing a demon lord. Honestly everyone is lucky she only keeps her aura solely in this continent. Also she can reach way more than even our own planet. She could likely even freeze our entire universe if she wanted to
Kaijuno: . . .
