Chapter 3 - 3

Everything before his eyes seemed to change, and the world became clearer. His limbs were full of strength and vitality. Kirito lightly jumped, leaping half a meter high. This was because he was only four years old and not yet familiar with chakra.

What a miraculous energy!

Shisui and Itachi stopped their sparring, their gazes simultaneously falling upon the child before them, filled with surprise.

"You've extracted chakra? That's truly impressive!" Shisui's tone was warm as he walked over and placed a hand on Kirito's shoulder. "Konoha has another little genius!"

Amidst his wonder, Kirito did not forget to thank Shisui.

"Thank you for your guidance, Big Brother Shisui."

"You're still too young. Don't extract chakra too often in the future; it's very dangerous, do you understand?" Shisui's expression turned serious.

"Ah? I understand."

As dusk approached, amidst Sasuke's clamor, everyone went home. Kirito had forgotten what they had said, only continuously feeling the various effects of chakra within his body.

After dinner, Kirito quickly returned to his room, lay on the bed, and pressed his small feet against the wall.

He wanted to experiment with tree climbing and water walking from the original story.

Since there was no comparison, Kirito didn't know if his chakra reserves were more or less than those of his peers. He didn't know any ninjutsu yet, nor did he have any standards for judgment, so he could only train his chakra control.

Regardless of whether his chakra would be abundant or scarce in the future, more refined chakra control was always beneficial and never harmful.

Perhaps because an adult soul resided within his body, Kirito's spiritual energy was much greater than his physical energy. This might have been the reason for the huge advantage he gained in chakra control.

A few minutes later, Kirito was walking horizontally on the wall. The cost was several holes in the wall, where he had initially failed to control the strength of his chakra.

"I can't believe I'm a genius!" Kirito felt a bit smug, but as soon as his mind wandered, he remembered the various overpowered abilities in the later stages of Naruto, and his smugness immediately vanished.

"Mom, is there hot water? I want to take a bath!" With tree climbing complete, next was water walking.

Once Liya had prepared the hot water, Kirito eagerly went in and closed the door. After a quick splash, he began to experiment with water walking.

As expected, it went smoothly. Two minutes later, Kirito was able to stand steadily on the surface of the water in the bathtub.

Although he didn't know why his parents didn't want him to be a ninja, he could now reveal his abilities.

"Mom, can you come in for a moment?"

Liya heard her son's voice and found it a bit strange; since he was two years old, her darling son had never asked her for help with bathing again. But she didn't think much of it, assuming her son wanted to experience the feeling of his mother scrubbing him.

Creak. The bathroom door opened.

Liya was startled, and the towel in her hand dropped to the floor.

Kirito, with a towel wrapped around his waist, hands on his hips, stood on the surface of the water in the bathtub, smiling proudly at her.

As a resident of Konoha, Liya naturally understood what this meant.

"Karuto, come quickly!" Liya's voice was somewhat anxious.

Karuto quickly came to the door and couldn't help but stare in a daze.

Next, Liya quickly helped her son finish his bath. Karuto picked up their son and went to their bedroom, where they began to interrogate him.

The matter wasn't complicated, nor was there anything that couldn't be told to others. Kirito organized his words and recounted how he learned to extract chakra, including seeing a ninja perform tree climbing and water walking, which made him want to try it himself.

Karuto was both surprised and delighted. He was surprised that his son didn't want to be a civilian as he wished and had directly extracted chakra. He was delighted that his son seemed to be a genius, although he had felt he was very intelligent since childhood.

Liya held her son in her arms, tears dripping down. Karuto rested his chin on his hand, frowning.

Kirito found his parents' reaction strange; normally, wouldn't they be happy?

"Kirito, have you decided to become a ninja in the future?" Karuto looked at his son seriously.

"Yes, Dad, I've decided to be a ninja in the future! You also know that during the Nine-Tailed Night, being powerless is simply too insignificant."

Karuto glanced at his wife and got the answer from her eyes.

"Alright, since you've decided, don't regret it. Mom and Dad will support you."

Karuto stood up, bent down, and dragged a box out from under the bed.

The wooden box was a meter long, half a meter wide, and thirty centimeters high, ancient and worn.

Liya stood up, walked to the window, opened it, and peered out, looking around. A moment later, she closed the window and returned to the bedside.

The box opened, revealing four scrolls, a few photos, and a folded set of old-fashioned battle armor.

Karuto took out the scrolls and set them aside. He then carefully picked up the photos and handed them to Kirito.

Kirito took the photos and began to look through them.

The photos were black and white and somewhat old.

Liya pointed to one of them and said, "These are your great-grandparents."

Kirito looked at the old people in the photo; their attire was traditional. However, with his sharp eyes, Kirito noticed a faint clan emblem on his great-grandfather's sleeve. If he wasn't mistaken, this family emblem represented a clan as famous as the Uchiha.

Senju of the Forest!

Indeed, in the subsequent photos of his grandfather, he also found this clan emblem.

So that's it—Kirito vaguely guessed why his parents opposed him becoming a ninja.

Regarding the decline of the Senju Clan, there had always been various theories in his previous life.

Some said they were annihilated by the Pot King. But this theory wasn't very reliable. Experimenting with Senju Hashirama's cells might involve Senju clansmen, but at most, it would be done secretly; large-scale operations would be absolutely impossible.

Some said they were depleted in several wars. This theory also wasn't very reliable. Depleting a portion of the clansmen was possible, but completely depleting them was too far-fetched. The remaining people weren't foolish; if the clan numbers dwindled, someone would definitely feel something was wrong, and as a founding clan, if they caused an uproar, the Konoha higher-ups absolutely couldn't handle it.

Moreover, Senju Hashirama's wife lived for a long time; with her as a stabilizing force, Konoha wouldn't face much turmoil.

The third theory was more reliable: after Konoha was established, the Senju received orders from Hashirama or Tobirama to abandon their family name and integrate into Konoha.

This theory is quite reliable because as the granddaughter and grandson of Senju Hashirama, Tsunade and Nawaki do not have family names.

Also, during the Fourth Great Ninja War, Senju Hashirama and Senju Tobirama were summoned. If the clan had truly been annihilated, they would at least ask what happened.

Hashirama was relatively easy to fool, but Tobirama—if you annihilated his clan, how could he remain silent?

So, was he a member of the Senju? Although he didn't become part of the legendary Uchiha Clan with their eyes, the Senju Clan was definitely not weak; in fact, it was even stronger.

One must remember that Senju Hashirama had beaten the Uchiha Dance King into submission.

Actually, when he used to watch Naruto, he had always fantasized about choosing between Uchiha and Senju if he were to transmigrate. He would rather choose Senju.

Although the Uchiha's Mangekyō was cooler, it tended to produce lunatics. One by one, every Uchiha who awakened the Mangekyō had severely extreme thoughts.

He continued to look through the photos before him.

"Are Grandpa and Grandma still alive?" Kirito had never heard about his grandfather, but since he saw the photos, he had to ask.

"Your great-grandfather passed away a long time ago, and your grandfather also sacrificed himself on the battlefield."

"What about my maternal grandfather?"

Karuto was momentarily speechless. Liya hugged her son tightly, resting her chin on his small head.

"Your maternal grandfather is still alive. We'll take you to see him next time."

"Oh, okay." He's still alive? Kirito thought he was gone too. Is there another story behind this?

"Come, let's test your chakra nature." Karuto took out a small strip of paper.
