"Hmm.. where am I" the boy said in a confused tone.
He looked around but around him was just seemingly endless white plane without even a single blemish.
The boy said with very low confident voice "I must have slept and this is just a dreamscape, I should wake up. I never had this kind of weird dream, this is new for me."
After saying this he started slapping himself in failed attempt to wake himself up. After few attempts when he didn't wake up, he got even more confused.
His thoughts were racing 'what's going on, one moment I was in my room thinking something then I came here but this starting to feel less like a dream and more like a reality because my cheeks are starting to hurt by my slaps.'
He was contemplating about his current situation then suddenly a loud majestic voice boomed throughout white plane "Greeting young man, I have come here to grant you a chance to change your life. Would you like to try your luck on my famous Infinite wheel."
He was momentarily stunned, his thoughts running wild 'what chance, what wheel, where is this sound coming from'
The boy asked nervously "Hello, my name is Rohan, who are you?"
The voice replied "Ahh…where are my manners, I am the great Ossarch, I roam this universe and if I see someone who deserves a 2nd chance to their life, I give them that chance. Today is your lucky day because you have the possibility to change your life forever, spin this wheel and let's see what fate have for you."
Rohan was speechless for a minute thinking what is happening 'who is he, why is he here, am I the only one getting the chance, if it's only me then why me. What does he want in return' his thought was running at a speed which will leave bullet train in dust.
Seeing that the boy has yet to respond, the voice spoke again, this time in somewhat authoritative tone "what are you waiting for boy, come spin the wheel and change your destiny. You will not have such chance in your life again."
Rohan thought for a moment again the spoke with questionable voice "what are you, why are you giving this so called chance to me and what I have to do in return for this chance?"
The voice laughed for few seconds then spoke amusingly "Oh, sceptical are we? You don't have to worry about what I want in return for this chance. You will have to complete the task that will come with it, which will be within your capability."
Rohan spoke again suspiciously "you didn't answer the rest of my question, what are you and why are you giving this chance to me, am I the only one on this planet given this chance."
The voice replied with irritated voice "don't push your luck boy, I told you, I am The Great Ossarch. As for other people, I only choose one person per planet so you are the only one here. Now don't waste my time anymore and spin the wheel and get this over with."
Rohan started doing calculation in his mind 'what to do, I don't see any gate so I can run away and I am starting to think this isn't a deam either. I don't think this person or whatever will let me leave and I don't think I will have such kind you opportunity for free, there must be a catch behind this *change of fate*, hmm…let's see where this goes, I don't have another choice anyway'.
Rohan asked again "how many chances will I get to spin the wheel?"
The voice flatly replied "5 times"
Rohan went towards the colorful wheel in front of him and spun the board, the board started spinning with full speed. Rohan stopped his breathing for a second thinking all the possibilities 'is it really going to change my life or I am stuck in clutches of some trickster who enjoy playing with lives of other'.
As Rohan spin the wheel, the teenage girl thought with a smile on her face 'let's see how much can you compromise yourself for power, I have tested many and at the end everybody bend towards power instead of standing on their beliefs or morals or their virtue. I am waiting to see if you are different from others or the same just with cheapest version of my master ability'
After a full minute, the wheel started slowing down and after few second the pointer finally stopped in front of violet colored strip. As the pointer stopped, a screen appeared in front of Rohan which mentioned the task and reward with it.
Task :- Kill 300 humans in a creative way. Each kill should be different from other
Reward:- Three abilities according to your wish>
"What!!!!" Rohan exclaimed and his eyes went wide, what kind of absurdity is this. This task make it feel like killing human is easier than chopping vegetables.
His mind started spinning 'what kind of task is this, keep all the laws and society aside, why does it state kill rather it should state butcher the humans. I am unsure about getting any abilities but I will become a Butcher for sure'
The Voice which had been silent and observing Rohan said "what are you thinking, you don't like the task or the reward"
Rohan looked away from the board, smiled wryly and said "No, I am thinking of taking a look at 4 other chances"
The Voice said in a firm tone "as you wish, but once you spin the wheel your previous task and reward will become invalid. So think carefully."
Rohan didn't even think about the voice words this time and went on to spin the wheel a second time.
The wheel spun for a minute then stopping at a red strip and then screen appeared with 2nd chance.
Task :- Kill 50 beautiful women around you
Reward :- Most handsome man on planet>
This time Rohan remain silent because mostly he was expecting some absurd task with tempting reward. He looked around hoping to catch the face of the voice but didn't see anything so without wasting time he spun the wheel third time.
This time pointer stopped at blue strip and screen appeared showing 3rd chance
Task :- Kill your family and all relatives
Reward :- Become the Powerhouse of this planet>
Seeing the 3rd chance, Rohan eyes were filled with nothing but disdain, he didn't say anything or look around just went on to spin the wheel again so as to quickly remove the task in front of him as soon as possible.
The wheel spun again and after a minute the pointer stopped at green strip and 4th chance surfaced in front of him.
Task :- Sacrifice 100 humans whenever you want to use the ability for first 5 times to get permanent control.
Reward :- Mastery over Space-time>
Rohan smiled a little reading the task and thought 'well at least it changed from Kill to sacrifice'. Looking at his last chance he sighed and hoped that all this is all just a dream and when he wake up from it he should forget this and have some beautiful and relaxing dream next time.
Seeing the boy smile, the teenage girl thought 'yeah….you are no different, everybody bends to the allure of power' although slight disappointed she sighed thinking her mission is yet to be completed then next moment something unexpected happen in front of her, instead of accepting the task the boy spin the wheel again. Seeing this teenage girl become more interested, because many few she had tested had reached the 5th chance and most of them take 4th chance and nobody has ever passed up 5th chance. Seeing the pointer stopping at white strip, the teenage girl thought 'let's see what you do now, nobody has passed up this chance'.
When pointer stopped his last chance appeared in front of him.
Task :- Kill 1000 humans to get the power then every year sacrifice 10000 humans for 100 years to make your power permanent
Reward :- Reach the top of your universe>
Looking at screen in front of him, he sighed 'as I thought, there is no such thing as changing my fate and if by doing such heinous act is only way to change my life then I just have to live the way I am.'
Rohan looked up and said "you are somekind of devil, aren't you?"
