Chapter 1 - The Beast

Throughout generations, there has been a rumor about "The Beast in the Forest." Sightings of a creature referred to as the beast have been reported near the Legucina Kingdom.

This forest has been forbidden to enter by the Five Great Kingdoms and is deemed extremely dangerous. It has been closed off for 400 years—no one is allowed to enter, and no one has dared to.

But why is this forest so dangerous? Why is this beast so fearsome? Stories have been passed down through the generations. With each telling comes a different version, but all share the same premise: a terrifying creature that was supposedly defeated by a great hero of the past.

This creature was not just one, but many. Four hundred years ago, there were only a few of them. But over time, they reproduced rapidly. No one knows how or why, but due to their explosive population growth, their food sources became scarce. So they began to migrate, seeking new places to feed.

They emerged from the forest and began to feast on anything and everything. It was a terrible time. Their strength was unnatural—no one knows where their power came from. Eventually, the Five Great Nations united to defeat these beasts, each sending their greatest hero.

The heroes fought carefully, leaving no trace of the creatures behind. Every last one was supposedly wiped from existence. Only vague descriptions remain in history books—of their power, appearance, and the destruction they caused.

But then, 300 years later, a sighting occurred. A creature resembling the ancient beast was encountered. It could walk on both two and four legs, its body covered entirely in fur, with a fearsome set of sharp teeth. But the most disturbing part? Beneath the fur, it looked exactly like a human.

They could climb trees and swing through the forest with ease. Standing up to 3.5 meters tall, they could crush rocks with their bare hands and had a massive appetite.

The sighting was immediately reported back to the Legucina Kingdom. The news spread quickly—so fast that even the other nations heard about it.

A group of heroes was assembled—not the greatest, but among the best—to investigate and eliminate whatever was in the forest. But they failed. After weeks, none returned. Thirty knights, five mages, and two healers entered, but no one ever came out.

Multiple attempts were made to attack the forest, but all ended in failure. So, the kingdoms decided to abandon the idea of invasion and instead sealed off the area permanently.

For the next 100 years, there were no further sightings. The kingdoms turned their attention to greater, more urgent problems. The forest was left alone.

Now, the danger has faded from people's minds. The story of the beast has become nothing more than a folktale—used to scare children into not wandering into the woods alone.
