Chapter 122 – THE WORLD WITHOUT SHEN
The white castle faded from memory. Far away, in the real world, chaos stirred.
At the Drifter outpost near the borderlands, fires burned across the horizon. The ground quaked as an Arcane beast—its body like a serpent with wings of bone—slithered through villages, leaving ruins in its path.
"Damn it!" Kenya shouted, his fists igniting with fire. His aura blazed red, his Fire Demon power roaring like a storm. "Shen should be here for this… but he's gone."
Eliz rushed to his side, black magic coiling around her arms. Her eyes were fierce, though worry lingered in them. "We don't have time to wait for him. If we fail here, people die."
Kenya gritted his teeth, flames erupting around his fists. "I know! But without Shen, it feels like we're missing our shield."
Eliz glanced at him sharply. "Then we'll become the shield. Shen entrusted us with this fight—even if he's trapped somewhere, we can't let his name be disgraced."
The Arcane beast roared, releasing a wave of corrupted energy that shattered the ground. Villagers screamed, fleeing into the night.
Kenya charged first, his Fire Demon form blazing. His fists collided with the beast's scales, sparks flying. "Haaah!"
The monster hissed, swiping with its tail, sending him crashing into the rubble.
"Kenya!" Eliz cried. Without hesitation, she summoned her Death Cyclone Magic, black whirlwinds slashing into the serpent's flesh. Dark energy carved into its wings, forcing it back.
Kenya rose from the rubble, blood trickling from his forehead. He smirked, wiping it away. "Tch. Not bad, Eliz. Looks like you're finally keeping up."
She shot him a glare but smirked back. "Just don't slow me down."
Together, they unleashed their powers—firestorms and black cyclones tearing into the Arcane beast. The sky lit with crimson flames and shadows.
But even as they fought, a shadow loomed larger behind the beast—another presence watching from the mountains. A figure cloaked in darkness, his aura heavier than the Arcane itself.
Eliz froze, sensing it. "Kenya… we're not alone."
Kenya's flames flared higher, his eyes narrowing. "Good. Then whoever's out there—come out and fight me!"
The air trembled, and the shadowed figure finally stepped forward…
