Bang!
In the persistently rainy weather, Yahiko heavily collapsed to the ground like a pile of sludge, immediately losing consciousness and not breathing at all.
"Yahiko!"
Konan was horrified. She knelt beside Yahiko, helpless and not knowing what to do.
At this moment, Heiyan stopped walking and turned around.
"Master, please, I beg you, save him! Whatever it takes to bring Yahiko back, I will do it!" Konan pleaded with Ink Master. She remained on her knees, nearly burying her head in the roadside mud, tears mixing with the muddy water on her face.
Hearing this, Heiyan silently squatted down, tore open Yahiko's clothes, and placed one large hand on the latter's chest.
Gurgling, gurgling.
As Konan watched in astonishment, a milky-white chakra flowed steadily from Heiyan's palm into Yahiko's body, enveloping the latter's entire body in a white glow.
Within less than a minute,
the bruises and wounds on Yahiko's body visibly vanished, his bruised and swollen face returned to normal, his skin became rosy, and his breathing stabilized.
[Yang Release Medical Ninjutsu]
The next second, Yahiko slowly opened his eyes, looking dazed.
This miraculous scene made Konan unable to believe her own eyes, but she quickly regained her senses and tearfully embraced Yahiko.
Upon learning that it was Ink Master who saved him, Yahiko and Konan thanked the tall man once again.
However, Heiyan didn't respond. Instead, he shifted his gaze toward something behind them.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Several ninja emerged from the woods, surrounding the trio.
"Incredible Medical Ninjutsu."
The female Jonin from Iwagakure's eyes lit up. She praised with interest before speaking to Ink Master, "So you're a Medical Ninja, and judging by your technique, does it resemble the medical techniques developed by Konoha's Tsunade?"
As always, Heiyan remained silent, effectively confirming their guess.
"Therefore, you took the risk of entering our territory governed by Iwagakure just to save these two kids?"
The female Jonin asked curiously. While she spoke, several of her subordinates subtly advanced toward Heiyan's group, closing the net tighter.
"No matter who the enemy is, I always offer them a chance to back off before taking action."
At this point, Heiyan finally spoke. His deep voice addressed the female Jonin, "It was like this with that shopkeeper earlier, and it's the same for you now. So... choose."
"Hahaha!"
Upon hearing this, the female Jonin and her men couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Frightening ordinary people is one thing, but trying to intimidate us ninjas from Iwagakure? Too bad. This time, not only can't you save anyone, but you'll end up getting yourself caught too. Get him!"
The female Jonin coldly sneered, finally barking an order, signaling her men to attack.
In her opinion, how strong could a Medical Ninja possibly be to dare boast in front of her?
Whoosh!
Just as his voice faded, several Iwa ninja hurled large iron nets from all directions. The nets met midair, forming a single massive trap that descended upon Ink Master and his companions.
Clearly, the plan was to capture them alive.
"What do we do?"
Yahiko and Konan wore expressions of sheer terror.
At this point, they were still just ordinary orphans without any knowledge of chakra or ninjutsu, helpless in the face of this situation.
"Sigh..."
Right at that moment, they both heard a familiar sigh.
Last time the Ink Master sighed, he slapped the shopkeeper so hard he became an idiot.
This time, he quickly took out a scroll from his back and spread it open before him. Then, several octopus-like tentacles shot out from his sleeves, spraying large amounts of ink onto the empty canvas, creating bold strokes.
This series of dazzling actions was completed in just two or three seconds.
As the giant net neared the three—
"Roar!"
With a mighty roar, several vividly drawn ink tigers leaped from the wide painting. Each tiger stretched several meters long, claws bared and teeth flashing. They tore the iron net apart in no time, then charged lightning-fast toward the Iwa ninja.
"What is that?!"
The attackers cried in shock—never before had they seen such a jutsu—and caught completely off guard, they scrambled desperately to respond.
"Ahh! Argh!"
Soon, shrieks of pain rang out one after another. The Iwa ninja, utterly defenseless, fell one by one—some bitten through the neck, others having their hearts torn out, each death more gruesome than the last.
Something's wrong.
The female jonin realized something was amiss the moment Ink Master acted. Now, watching her subordinates fall in quick succession, her expression turned even grimmer.
But now it was too late for regrets.
"Hiss... hiss..."
Just as the female jonin prepared to release a jutsu and fight to the death, she suddenly heard a snake's flickering tongue sound. Looking down, she discovered that without realizing when, an ink python had silently approached and coiled tightly around her body.
"Roar!"
In the next second, several ferocious tigers pounced together, ending the female jonin's life with her scream still echoing.
"So strong."
Yahiko and Konan stared in stunned silence as the enemies were cleanly wiped out.
They had been facing an Iwa jonin. To these two, a jonin was like an untouchable giant, yet now one was defeated before their eyes like nothing more than a chicken.
Yahiko especially became an immediate fan of the Ink Master. The immense power he displayed filled Yahiko with admiration and yearning.
At this moment, the ink tigers and ink snake completed their tasks, returning to the scroll and turning back into ink.
Suddenly, loud noises and cries of battle came from afar. Reinforcements from the city—over a hundred Iwa ninja—were approaching fast.
Unwilling to add further bloodshed, the Ink Master drew another giant ink bird on the scroll. With one hand gripping Yahiko and the other holding Konan, he stepped onto the bird's back.
With a sharp cry, the ink bird flapped its wings furiously and soared straight into the sky, quickly reaching hundreds of meters high, flying toward the horizon.
One day later.
Within the Land of Rain, in a remote rural village.
The village had recently been ravaged by an army. All the houses were burned down, valuables and food looted, and the villagers either killed or fled, leaving it a deserted ruin.
However, near the riverbank in a small grove, a brand-new wooden cabin appeared overnight, becoming the new home for three outsiders.
Heiyan took out a large pile of furniture and daily necessities from Kamui's space, quickly setting up the interior. The sight left Yahiko and Konan in awe once again, further reinforcing their belief that Ink Master was practically all-powerful.
"Huh, a fishing rod?"
Suddenly, Yahiko's eyes lit up as if he'd discovered a treasure. He picked up a finely crafted fishing rod from a pile of tools.
"Ink Master, my greatest hobby is fishing, and Konan's favorite dish is the grilled fish I cook. So… may I borrow this fishing rod?"
Yahiko looked up at Ink Master with some nervousness while making the request.
Ink Master simply nodded without saying a word.
"Awesome!"
Excited to show what he could do, Yahiko dashed straight for the riverbank, ready to catch loads of fish.
"Teehee."
Seeing the dazed look on Yahiko's face, Konan couldn't help but hide her smile behind her hand and let out a soft giggle.
Once she stopped laughing, Konan got straight to work tidying up the room and cleaning—no need to wait for Ink Master's orders.
