Chapter 228 - Chapter 228: The First, the Second, and Heiyan

In the hidden chamber, five coffins opened one after another.

From the left, the first two figures stepping out of their coffins looked nearly identical. One had long golden hair, the other long gray locks. Both bore upright horns on their heads and six whisker-like markings across their cheeks. On their arms were tattooed two characters—"King" and "Silver."

These two were the legendary Kinkaku and Ginkaku of Akagakure.

They carried the bloodline of the Sage of Six Paths, skillfully wielded the Five Sacred Ninja Tools left behind by the Sage, and had even consumed the flesh of the Nine-Tails to obtain its chakra. They were known as "The Twin Flames of the Skies."

Right behind them emerged a rugged old man with his hair tied into a topknot. His bronze skin, high-collared coat, and brown iron shoulder armor gave him a fierce and battle-hardened presence.

This old man was also a ninja from Akagakure—and more than that, the sworn enemy of Kinkaku and Ginkaku—the Second Raikage.

Boom! Boom!

Simultaneously, the fourth and fifth coffins shattered open, and two figures stepped out together.

On the left was a man carrying two katanas on his back, his entire body wrapped in bandages except for his face, which was covered by a black silk forehead protector. He wore only black pants.

On the right stood a man without eyebrows but with a thick mustache. He had bright yellow hair and wore a high-collared coat, appearing charming and sociable.

The Second Tsuchikage Mu, and Gengetsu Hozuki, the Second Mizukage.

Another pair of bitter enemies.

Whether Madara had done it on purpose was hard to say. But one thing was clear: none of those resurrected through Impure World Reincarnation—Kinkaku, Ginkaku, the Second Raikage, and even Mu and Gengetsu Hozuki—had ever been allies in life.

After exiting the coffins, all five showed signs of confusion and shock. Then they saw their former deadly enemies standing before them. Instantly, hatred ignited, and they were ready to tear each other apart.

But just at that moment—

All five suddenly found themselves completely unable to move. It was as if they had become five puppets, manipulated remotely by invisible strings.

Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!

In unison, the five turned their gazes forward and laid eyes on Madara Uchiha—his hair white, his expression cold and indifferent.

Half an hour later.

Under Madara's command, the reincarnated army marched out of the Mizukage building. Divided into three teams, they headed toward various ninja villages to carry out missions capturing the Tailed Beasts.

The Second Tsuchikage Mu and Gengetsu Hozuki, the Second Mizukage, went to Sunagakure to capture the Four-Tails and Five-Tails;

Kinkaku, Ginkaku, along with the Second Raikage, traveled to Akagakure to seize the Eight-Tails;

As for the Second Kazekage and Third Kazekage, they remained within the Land of Water, searching for the reborn Three-Tails wandering in the wilds.

Back in the hidden chamber beneath the floor.

"Now comes the main event," Madara murmured, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. Then he executed another hand seal, causing three yellow coffins to rise from beneath the ground.

From left to right, these three coffins bore the characters "The First," "The Second," and "Heiyan."

Boom! Boom! Boom!

As the coffin lids crashed down, two figures stepped out one after another from the first two coffins.

One had long black hair and red armor, while the other had short white hair and blue armor. Their faces bore striking similarities, making them look like brothers.

They were Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju—Konoha's First and Second Hokage—and also Madara's old friends: the legendary Senju brothers.

"Reanimation Technique… huh?"

Tobirama looked down at his cracked body and muttered. As the creator of this forbidden technique, he was extremely familiar with its characteristics.

"Brother, I told you long ago not to violate taboos or meddle with the dead. You'd eventually face consequences. Now it seems I was right all along."

Hashirama solemnly patted his younger brother's shoulder.

"Aniki, I admit I never imagined that one day I myself would become a target of Reanimation."

Tobirama sighed before saying to Hashirama, "Well then, let's see who our remarkable descendant is that summoned us."

The moment they fell silent, both turned their eyes ahead.

The next instant,

Their pupils shrank, their expressions frozen in disbelief.

"You are…"

Hashirama stared at the elderly white-haired man standing nearby, asking cautiously.

"Hashirama, long time no see."

Madara Uchiha spoke slowly. He immediately saw through Hashirama's thoughts and said coldly, "How exactly are you still alive? On that day at the Valley of the End, I faked my death deliberately—to obtain your cellular tissue. Thanks to it, I now have these eyes."

He swept back his long hair, revealing the Rinnegan to Hashirama with pride.

"So that's how it is."

Hashirama's face turned to shock as he heard that.

"No wonder your corpse suddenly vanished back then."

At this moment, Tobirama beside him cut in coldly.

"Hehe, if you had destroyed my body immediately instead of hiding it underground for dissection research, I wouldn't have had the chance to escape after reviving. So thanks… Second Hokage."

Madara stared at Tobirama with irony, sarcastically remarking.

"So, after so many years, what do you hope to achieve by resurrecting us brothers?"

Taking a step forward, Hashirama frowned and asked Madara.

"Don't rush. There's someone else."

But Madara waved his hand, signaling Hashirama to wait, then shifted his gaze toward the third coffin.

Inside lay a tall, surprisingly youthful man. Clad in a cape-style white Shanwenjia armor, Uzumaki Heiyan stood motionless within the coffin, eyes tightly shut like a statue, showing no sign of stepping out.

Had the Reanimation truly failed?

"This can't be possible…"

Seeing this scene, Madara's expression darkened, muttering in disappointment.

Meanwhile, the two Hokage wore puzzled looks, filled with curiosity about this young man inside the coffin.

After all, Madara had dramatically summoned this young man along with the two of them, which alone proved he had been a ninja of the same caliber as them when he was alive.

"Is it the Third Hokage?"

Hashirama Senju asked.

"No."

Tobirama Senju shook his head and explained, "Before my death, I passed the title of Hokage to that monkey. I wonder how he's running Konoha these days."

"Then is it the Fourth Hokage?"

Hashirama rubbed his chin, guessing again.

"Give it a rest. He wasn't the Hokage himself, but his influence in Konoha once outmatched even the Hokage's."
