Chapter 3 - Chapter One: The Birth of an Anomaly

The moon hung low over the Veyr estate, its pale light filtering softly through the tall stained-glass windows of the birthing chamber. Inside, the air was thick with anticipation and quiet tension.

Lady Myrra Veyr gripped the arms of the carved ebony chair, her face pale but determined. Pain wracked her slender frame as she bore the weight of her labor. Around her, a handful of attendants and clan elders whispered prayers and observed with solemn eyes.

Lord Kaelen Veyr paced silently near the hearth, his silver-white hair catching the firelight. His violet eyes, usually sharp and unreadable, flickered with a rare shadow of worry. This child, their firstborn, was more than an heir — he was the future of their lineage. The blood of the Veyr clan coursed heavily in the walls of this estate, and the expectations it carried felt like iron shackles.

As the hours dragged on, the labor reached its climax. The chamber fell into a hushed stillness as a cry shattered the night — a newborn had arrived.

Wrapped carefully in midnight blue silk, the infant was handed to Lady Myrra. His hair was pure white, a striking mark of the Veyr bloodline, but his eyes immediately drew attention. One was a molten gold, warm and fiery; the other a deep violet, calm yet mysterious. Heterochromia was rare even among their kind, an unusual sign that made the clan watchers hold their breath.

The child's gaze, sharp and unblinking, seemed to pierce through the room's veil of shadows. Though just moments old, something ancient and unyielding stirred deep within him.

Consciousness bloomed.

There was no confusion — only cold awareness.

This is... not death.

He could feel the silk on his skin, the warmth of flesh around him, the distant flicker of firelight. His body was small. Weak. But his mind? It surged with clarity.

Memories bled through like smoke from a distant fire — alleys, pain, hunger, death.

And then—

"His name will be Silis," Lord Kaelen said, his voice low but resolute. "Silis Veyr."

A tremor rippled through the infant's soul. Silis. A name. A true name. Something he had never been given in his last life.

Lady Myrra looked down at him, her expression softening as she studied his mismatched eyes—gold and violet, fire and thought. She nodded. "Yes. Silis."

The name echoed through the chamber like a quiet oath.

In his mind, it rang louder.

So this is who I am now... Silis. Silis Veyr.

Silently, the two acknowledged what no one dared speak aloud:

This child was an anomaly.

---

Silis observing his new life started to feel something warm as if light itself was showering him his body started to float and mental energy rippled throughout the chamber and then everything stopped and came back to normal.

Silis's opened his eyes after the phenomena ended seeing a **status panel** hovering invisibly, unseen by others but clearly present to him.
