"Are you busy?"
Riveria glanced at Alfia's movements, curiosity showing in her eyes.
"It's something magic-related," Ronen replied with a nod, then turned to Alfia. "Can I explain it?"
Alfia raised a brow in mild surprise and answered casually, "Go ahead."
"My lover, as well as Sister Alfia here, both have negative skills," Ronen explained. "I'm designing a magic to suppress them. The blueprint is almost done—next, I'll be moving on to actually creating the spell."
"Creating magic…"
Riveria froze for a moment.
She was about to remark on how difficult it was to invent a spell from scratch—until she remembered Ronen's deep understanding of magic, along with his innate-type spells.
Alfia, meanwhile, paused at his choice of address but didn't correct him.
In truth, Ronen was older than her, but it wasn't something worth fussing over.
After all, compared to calling her "sister-in-law," "elder sister" sounded much nicer.
"Can I help?" Riveria asked, a strong spark of curiosity rising within her.
"Of course," Ronen agreed immediately. "If you're willing to help, I'll make sure to give you something in return."
"There's no need for payment. I think the process alone will let me make progress in magic," Riveria said, shaking her head.
"Payment is still necessary." Ronen smiled, walking over to sit beside Alfia. "Come join us here."
The innate-type magic Ronen developed was difficult for this world's people to learn unless they were prodigies like Alfia.
Without teaching the special training method, it was nearly impossible to spread—because the foundation this world lacked was basic mana control.
Without that foundation, development was all but impossible.
On top of that, there was the issue of mental limitations, which was an even greater obstacle.
What Ronen intended to offer Riveria was one of his own created innate-type spells.
The reward was far greater than the help she would be providing—this was essentially an investment, or perhaps simply a way to build a good relationship with her.
The reasons were many. Riveria was, without a doubt, a future hero candidate, and maintaining good relations would benefit them both.
As someone who had once been his "2D waifu," she already held an innate place in his heart.
And, though other thoughts inevitably crossed his mind, with Meteria around, Ronen kept them suppressed.
The simplest reason, though, was that he wanted to. Ronen was free—if he wished to do something, he did it.
That was the composure of one who possessed everything.
"An engraving spell…" Riveria murmured as she studied the contents of the parchment in her hands. "The complexity of this magic is astonishing. I've never seen an innate-type spell so complete—it's comparable to an ultra-long incantation in terms of detail."
Even as a member of the elven royal family, Riveria didn't have the ability to use such a spell.
The longer and more powerful a spell's chant, the greater the difficulty of use—a reason why innate-type spells were generally considered less practical than acquired-type ones.
"This is something you created as well?" Riveria asked in genuine awe.
"Of course." Ronen nodded. "What I'm going to complete next is the advanced form of the engraving spell—the Engraving Cluster. So, if you want to keep up with me, learn this spell quickly."
"I understand." Riveria nodded firmly.
It was her first time facing such a challenge, and she found herself feeling both refreshed and exhilarated.
By the end of the morning, Ronen had finished his planning.
"This page here describes the magical effect…"
As he had been paying close attention to Riveria's progress, Ronen frequently explained things to all of them, which greatly accelerated their learning.
"All right, let's officially begin."
He assigned tasks, giving each person—including Meteria—a portion of the work.
Dividing the process into parts was like having them design the components, while he himself refined them into the finished product.
They were still short-handed, and Ronen not only had to manage the overall direction but also help assemble the parts—but it was still much faster than doing everything alone.
"My mana had recovered quite a bit. Let's continue with your physical adjustment," Ronen said, looking at Alfia.
"Mm."
She gave a slight nod and extended her hand.
"He's helping adjust Sister Alfia's body. It's an innate-type spell that requires tailoring the magic to her specific condition—it's very difficult," Meteria explained to Riveria, who was watching the scene curiously.
"…Is this adjustment proper?" Riveria asked, her expression complicated as she noticed Alfia struggling to endure something, her face faintly red and irresistibly adorable.
"That's enough for now. We'll continue later."
Ronen released Alfia's hand, noticing that her gaze toward him seemed just a little gentler.
As for Riveria's odd expression—he really wasn't doing anything improper. It was just that, for Alfia, the magic flowing through her body made her extremely sensitive, as if an invisible touch were gliding inside her.
The sense of lightness and comfort it brought gradually wore away her lingering displeasure toward him.
So,Two days passed quickly like this...
Alfia's body was fully adjusted to health, and the Engraving Cluster magic was complete.
"Can something this massive even be used?" Riveria asked doubtfully look at this magic circle.
She wasn't alone—Alfia also doubted anyone could cast such a spell.
"With the help of a magic ritual, it's possible," Ronen replied.
The main problem was complexity. While the difficulty had indeed risen several times, the jump wasn't impossible.
The bigger issue was mana capacity—his was still lacking.
After all, Ronen wasn't even an adventurer, and without the mana enhancement that came with level-ups, using it would be difficult.
"Oh, right."
He turned to Alfia. "There's another experiment I want to do—I need to see an Additional Magic in action."
Additional Magic was a type of spell attached to the body, enhancing a person's physical capabilities.
For example—Ais Wallenstein's Ariel, or Alfia's Silent Sound.
The former was a blessing of wind, allowing Ais to fight far above her level—reaching the equivalent of Level 7 strength while only Level 5.
The latter was magic nullification, capable of weakening even her own spells, though not outright erasing them.
Ronen planned to refine his Flight Magic into an Additional Magic form, so he needed to see one firsthand.
Such magic was rare—even Riveria, an elven princess, didn't possess one.
He had been considering this for a while, and bringing it up now was partly because Alfia owed him a favor.
In her current mood, there was no way she would refuse such a small request.
