The drive was making me feel sick especially because of what had happened that night.
I shouldn't have drank so much. Hell! I shouldn't have gone to the club in the first place. I felt so frustrated and angry with myself. How was I going to explain this to my parents and the Grimm family that I was no longer a virgin.
That I had a one night stand with a stranger. I still felt the pain in my nether regions and there were still hickeys on my chest and collarbones so which meant I had to wear something very conservative.
As we arrived at the Grimm Mansion, I couldn't help but gasp at the beautiful scenery, it was so huge and pretty. They were obviously, massively wealthy and now I understood why my parents were so eager to get me married.
As we entered the Mansion, the interior decor was even more mind-blowing, marble were on every single place, it looked like the walls and floors were made if marbles and not bricks, they were black and gold. A very wonderful combination.
Some of the family members welcomed us personally at the entrance and I was surprised by the simple act of meekness.
Other rich families, however, who obviously didn't compare with the Grimms would put up a front and act all high and mighty.
We all sat down after a few exchange of pleasantries. Everyone began discussing with each other, well everyone except me.
My mind still in chaos. Mrs Evelyn Grimm talked the most. She held the title of the head mistress of the family which was very high second to the headmaster who was the old master. Her husband was supposed to be the Head Master but he was an army so he wasn't around most of the time.
After sometime, someone announced that the old master had arrived and everyone immediately stood to acknowledge his presence, I did the same aswell.
Behind him, stood a young man, he looked very good looking though his expression seemed blunt and uninterested. Our eyes met and I saw him look me up and down. I looked away immediately and at that moment, I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me.
I guessed he was Levi Grimm, My supposedly engaged partner.
The Old Master acknowledged the greeting with a nod and everyone sat down. Meanwhile Levi moved to sit beside me, he seemed reluctant though like he was forced to.
Was he also forced into this marriage?
I felt his occasional stare on me and it was very uncomfortable, he wasn't even trying to hide it. Was he checking me out? It was at this point that I just wanted to lift my hand and hit his face.
The food was finally presented and it looked out of the ordinary. It was like a feast for a party but only few relatives were present. Was this how all their meals were? This was a huge waste of time, money and energy.
I guess they weren't so different after all.
As soon as everyone were about to dig in. The Old Master caught everyone mid step."Wait" He commanded and everyone paused like his words were that of a god.
"No one eats until my first grandson arrives" I heard a grunt from Levi. Was he jealous? I mean he had no right to be jealous after all the first grandson would soon take the position of the headmaster in the family.
No one objected and respected his orders. They were bored and I guessed he wasn't the best person to count on to come early.
The truth was I didn't even want him to come at all. I was honestly hoping he wouldn't make it here. After all the terrible rumors I heard about him, Seeing him in real life was something I didn't think I could handle.
Soon footsteps could be heard from the entrance hallway. It sounded distant even though it was close, calculated and precise like every step was planned.
He came into view and no matter how much I didn't want to look at him,I couldn't help but steal a glance at him and it wasn't an exaggeration if I said I could literally bow down and worship this man.
He looked like a god.
Our eyes met and I immediately turned away but not before catching a surprised expression on his usual poker face. Did he know me from somewhere? Why did he look surprised to see me? I concluded that it was probably because I was getting married to his younger brother so it would make sense if he'd seen me before.
He sat on a chair across mine and even though he tried not to make it obvious. I felt his stare on my form.
Soon his stare turned into a deadly one as he glared furiously at me. I was heating up. Did I offend him in some way?
Soon everyone had started eating and Mrs Grimm immediately went straight to the point about the marriage ceremony to be held. My parents didn't hesitate to join in but I just stared at my food.
I was lost in thought and I didn't know whether Mrs Grimm noticed it or not but I was glad she didn't try to force me into the conversation or try to get Levi and I to talk because I could already sense that he destested me.
However, the the old master neither wore a smile not joined in any conversation. He cleared his throat twice and the attention of everyone were immediately drawn to him.
"The Original engagement will not be taking place". The words hung hollow in the ears of my parents but I was ecstatic.
Did this mean I wasn't going to marry Levi anymore? I was thrilled. He continued though,"instead Mrs Adams here will be engaged to my first grandson,Sage Grimm ".
The words hung heavy in the air and everyone fell silent.
Wait What?!
