Deep beneath the Guild, in the ancient Room of Prayers, the air trembled with a quiet, primordial divinity. Seated upon his colossal stone throne, the ancient god Ouranos — the first to descend to the mortal realm — opened his eyes.
"So… it was that boy again," Ouranos murmured, his voice vast and heavy, echoing through the chamber like a distant quake. "Just as I predicted. The moment whispers of him reached my ears, I knew this would come to pass."
He leaned forward slightly, the weight of centuries behind his gaze.
"Heroes… they have a way of appearing when the world hungers for change. They attract trouble like moths to flame—yet they are the ones capable of surviving what others cannot."
Before him stood Fels, the ageless sorcerer—his most loyal agent for over eight hundred years. Cloaked, skeletal, and silent, Fels waited patiently for orders.
Ouranos continued, voice turning solemn with purpose.
"Send word to the Loki Familia. They are to cooperate with the Hestia Familia and investigate this matter together."
He rose a single massive hand, palm glowing with faint divine power, and a bundle of sealed documents materialized beside the throne.
"Provide them with every piece of evidence we possess regarding the premature Goliath appearance," he commanded. "Then instruct them to return to the Eighteenth Floor immediately."
Fels bowed deeply. "As you will, Lord Ouranos."
But before he could depart, Ouranos added one final instruction—his tone carrying a rare, quiet curiosity.
"And… make sure I receive constant updates on the actions of Damien Ardent."
His eyes shone faintly in the dim light.
"For the first time in centuries… I find myself intrigued."
...
Inside the cozy little home of the Hestia Familia, Loki leaned back in her chair, one leg casually crossed over the other while Ais and Riveria sat beside her. Damien and Hestia sat across from them, the atmosphere tense despite the small table between them.
Loki began, "Alright, bratlings. Orders from the top. For now, we're working together to solve this case. As a team."
Hestia immediately puffed her cheeks."Hmph! My Damien could solve this on his own! I don't even know why you had to be included, Ms. Flat-chest."
"HAAAH—?!" Loki's eyebrows twitched violently. "You big-breasted washboard-brained midget! It's the guild's order, not mine! If it were up to me I wouldn't be stuck in this—this cheap little shack!"
"CHEAP?!" Hestia stood on the chair like a furious chibi demon. "My Damien bought all of this himself! Unlike you—who needs hundreds of members to fund your Familia, you freeloader fox!"
"Oh that's it—!" Loki slammed a fist on the table.
Damien, caught between the two living embodiments of chaos, lifted a hand wearily."Goddess… can we please focus? We have a mission, remember?"
Both goddesses "hmph'd" in perfect unison and sat down, pretending they hadn't been seconds away from clawing each other's eyes out.
Riveria gracefully cleared her throat, elegantly steering the meeting back on track.
"The Guild provided us with additional information," she said. "Not about the Goliath directly, but about the Dungeon structure. It seems several hidden pathways—old routes once used by Evilus—still exist. The Guild suspects someone used them to reach Floor Seventeen and interfere with the Goliath's regeneration cycle."
Damien nodded."So it was as you suspected. We're heading down to locate those routes… then what?"
"We investigate," Riveria answered. "Evilus was destroyed in the past, but remnants survive. The Guild likely suspects they've regrouped. Our job is to confirm that. Once we identify the location…"
"We get paid," Loki cut in, smirking. "The Guild wants free labor. They won't get it. We investigate, we report. Then, if they want the full might of Loki Familia—and Damien, since he's involved—they'll cough up proper rewards. We're not doing charity for the Guild."
Damien shrugged."Seems fair enough. So when do we head out?"
"Tomorrow," Loki replied. "My A-team returns in three or four days. Once they arrive, we can move with real force." She pointed casually at Damien. "And don't worry, kid—we'll make sure you're there. This started with you."
Ais nodded firmly, eyes sharp with respect."As the first to discover the anomaly, you'll lead the operation."
Riveria added, "You've already proven your skill and reliability. We'll be counting on you."
Damien smiled faintly."Well then… I'm honored. See you all tomorrow."
Loki rose from her seat, stretching lazily."Sleep tight, kid. Things are gonna get hectic real fast."
With that, Loki, Ais, and Riveria made their exit, leaving the room quiet once more.
The door shut.
And Hestia's soft voice broke the silence.
"Damien…" she said, eyes trembling with worry. "Are you sure you want to do this? Our Familia is new… we're still small. And you… you're my precious child. I don't want to see you hurt."
Damien walked toward her with a warm smile, gently placing a hand on her head.
"Don't worry, Hestia. I want this. I want the world to know the power of our Familia. Your Familia. One day, people will shout your name with pride—and they'll see you as the greatest goddess in all of Orario."
Hestia blinked, cheeks turning rosy, but her voice remained soft."I don't care about being praised… I just want you safe."
"And I promise you," Damien said with quiet certainty, "I will always come back to you. Safe. Sound. And stronger."
Hestia finally smiled—small, fragile, but full of trust."Then… I'll wait for you."
...
As the day ended and a new one began, Damien, Ais, and Riveria moved together toward the hidden pathways the Guild had mentioned. Their steps were quiet, precise, every sense alert as they navigated Floor Seven.
Finally, they reached the entrance known only through Guild records. Riveria extended her hand, her fingers brushing against the wall as her magic scanned the surface.
"There," she said, voice calm but sharp. "Strike here, Ais."
Ais didn't hesitate. She swung her weapon with precision, and to her surprise, the wall crumbled almost effortlessly, revealing a narrow passage concealed from ordinary adventurers.
"Bingo. There it is," Damien said with a small smile, surveying the hidden path. "Shall we, ladies?"
Without waiting for further confirmation, he stepped forward into the shadowed corridor, Ais and Riveria following close behind.
The hunt for the remnants of Evilus had officially begun.
