Chapter 5 - Death...?

Unaware of the turmoil in the outside world, Bai Hei continued to live out his days, in the blink of an eye, a day had passed. Strolling around the village, Bai Hei had already been able to roughly descern the strength of the villagers.

Only the village head was in the late rank 2 stage. Currently, he was in the living room, however this time there was a book in his hand, it was the diary from before, since he wanted to be thorough Bai Hei decided to take a look at the diary after hesitatiin for a while.

With a slide it opened, however the next moment Bai Hei was stunned by its contents.

"Day 6, i decided to slowly relinquish my genetic makeup, my helix core is slowly becoming purer."

Soon, i will be no different from your race hannah… the process all along has been very painful, it isnt easy to drop from rank seven all the way to rank 3… i almost shattered my helix core countless times in the process…

As Bai Hei read on his eyes ccontinued to widen until he became extremely terrified, he immediately felt something was wrong, is this really supposed to be a grey portal? According to my memories, in grey portals the highest cultivation is rank 3, what then is this diary about?

From the contents of the diary, it seemed the old man fell in love with someone from another race. Bai Hei faintly guessed it was his race, unfortunately they seem to have separated, now the old man wanted to relinquish his genetic modification, become a normal human again and then step into the aurora continent to search for her.

What an interesting love story… he mused. But his mind quickly went to what was important—the fact that the man's genetic modification could be so high. Just as Bai Hei was lost in thoughts, outside the village, space ripped apart and seven ancient figures appeared.

Their auras alone caused all teh buildings in the village to colapse with a bang! Bai Hei was immediately shocked, he stood up, and was about to rush and hide away, he knew that iin these situations coming out would be the same as suicide.

No golden core cultivator could possess such strength. Having guessed that something was wrong already and now seeing such display of strength, Bai Hei immediately prioritixed his life. However just as he was about to move a profound aura locked onto him.

How… i cant move! Bai Hei was horified. He couldn't even take a step forward. Struggling, he raised his head with difficulty and looked up at the sky, in the sky seven ancient figures were staring down at the village.

Bai Hei's eyes widened in shock. He saw that the lightning like Bai Heis on all seven figures had almost engulfed their bodies. At least rank 5 or rank six! He didn't know what they were doing here, could they be here for me?? But im not some kind of big shot! Bai Hei's thoughts raced rapidly.

Similarly, all the villagers were froxen in fear. However at this moment an old voice interrupted teh crowd, "ladies and gentlemen, wouldnt it be better to speak first? You might injure the little children!"

Bai Hei immediately recognise that old voice, it was the old man he was staying with. Instantly his eyes lit up and his thoughts spun, that's right, the old man use to be a rank 7 helixar, he should be able to do something Bai Hei seemed to find his faint trace of hope, he stared at the old man with a pleading expression as though he was saying… hey, old man, im your room mate, save me first!

One of the seven figures squinted his eyes as he stared at the old man, "who are you old man? And why do you interfere in the helix alliance business?" from how the man wasn't affected by their aura they immediately knew that he wasn't ordinary. The helixars had always respected the strong so they were immediately respectful.

On the other hand upon hearing the ancient figure's words the old man's expression changed drastically. Bai Hei noticed this and his hand sank, it seems this helix alliance is far from ordinary.

The old man thought for a bit and said, "i have no much dealings with all the others, but i have taken a liking to this young man here, i want him to be my disciple…"

Upon hearing that the seven figures immediately released a horrifying aura which pressed down on kranos and the others causing them to bleed from their seven orifices, as for the weaker ones they directly exploded into blood mist, this was the pressure of a higher lifeform.

"You can have all the vilagers, however we came for this young. Our mission is to kill him." another ancient figure spoke, he also cast a sideways glance at Bai Hei and sneered inwardly seeing his chicken-liike strength.

The old man frowned, now the situation was a bit complicated, the helixar alliance was an extremely terrrifying organisation and not something he could joke with lightly. However upon recalling the human lady who he fell in love with bt ultivately ended up dissapointing, he felt that saving Bai Hei of this crisis would help soothe him a bit.

He had long realised that Bai Hei was a human, at their level of strength it was easy to recognise those of a different race at a glance. After coming to a decision, the old man sent a voice transmission to Bai Hei. "Young man, as soon as you feel the pressure on you release, quickly escape far away from here!"

Bai Hei was stunned for a moment, he glanced at the old man and realised a terrifying pitch black spear had appeared in his hand. The seven ancient figures immediately had terrified expressions underneath their robes.

"The advisor?" one of them exclaimed in shock, "the advisor who decided to relinquish his strength after falling in love with a human???" immediately they released all their trump cards and rushed to defend themselves.

Immediately both sides attacked Bai Hei realised that the pressure that had targeted him previously had been destroyed. Without any hesitation he released his cultivation and ran away, not caring for the consequences, he already guessed that they knew his true identity as a human, fearing that they would be able to tamper with the teleportation scroll he hadnt crushed it.

Just as he had dashed a few meters, the ancient scroll appeared in his hand and he immediately crushed it. However, he quickly realised that something was wrong, his body trembled fiercely as he realised that he had entered a hopeless situation.

Just as he was about to search for a chance of survival by running away, he felt a chill run up his spine. Instantly, without having a chance to react, a sharp object appeared from out of nowhere and pierced his heart. In the last moments of his terrific life Bai Hei heard a faint chuckle followed by some words of disdain.

"Master told me the mission this time was extremely dangerous, but i didn't think it would be this easy, heh, i wonder how much i will be rewarded for killing him…"
