"I saw you two again."
Arthur was suddenly startled as a voice popped up behind him. The moment it reached his ears, something in his chest tightened. Instantly, he recognized the voice.
That man again.
Arthur forced a smile, already feeling his mood drop. He tried to keep it polite, even if he was clearly upset, and subtly prepared himself to slip away before things could escalate. But the older man seemed to have far too much free time, too much interest in bothering him.
"She is beautiful," the man continued casually. "You two are such a good match. How long has it been? Mmm?"
Arthur sighed inwardly. His expression stayed controlled, but inside, he was already exhausted. He even let out a small chuckle, one he thought stayed in his head, but it escaped his mouth anyway, awkward and unintentional.
"Oh… it must be a sweet story," the man added, as if trying to dig deeper.
And somehow, that only made things worse.
