Chapter 3 - chapter 3- Clash with Orc Warrior

As I woke up with the morning breeze, I stood up and stretched my body. Then I drank the water I had boiled yesterday.

I sat down on a stone to think about what to do next. After thinking deeply, I said,

"First, I will try to find other people."

I packed my stuff. With the help of snake skin and leaves, I created a pouch. I put the knives on my back and some snake meat for the future. Then I took my spear—I was ready to leave.

I began descending the mountain slowly. After an hour, I finally reached the mountain base.

From now on, the real journey begins.

I decided to follow the direction of the sun. I had learned that this was the best course of action in this kind of situation.

As I moved, at every point, I left a mark on the trees—just in case I needed to return to the cave. This way, I'd know the direction or at least be sure I wasn't walking in circles.

But I got surprised—

I had never seen trees like these. The wood was completely different, with colors of blue and brown.

I kept moving forward.

Suddenly, I heard the grass rustling.

I quickly turned and took a defensive stance.

Standing before me was an 8-foot-tall beast.

Its entire body was green, with yellow eyes and dark pupils. Its mouth was wide, and canine teeth jutted out like daggers.

It wore a large fur coat and wielded a massive blade.

I said,

"What is this abomination?"

It heard me—its expression lit up with excitement.

"Such a big human! Hahaha!" it laughed.

I was shocked. In my mind, I said,

I can understand the beast's voice...?

It said,

"Well, it's been a while since I tasted human meat. This will be fun."

It began moving toward me like a predator hunting prey.

"Don't struggle. I'll make your death easy."

I got angry and shouted,

In my mind, I muttered,

You think you can hunt me, you ugly-looking shit.

Then I said aloud,

"Yeah, it's been a while since I've seen something so ugly."

Upon hearing that, the beast growled in rage.

"How dare a human talk back to me?! Let me put you in your place!"

He charged at me.

I use Sojutsu and countered the attack—my spear glowed once more.

Seeing the glow, the beast was surprised. He blocked my attack with his blade but the impact of my attack push him back .

He looked at me seriously.

"You can use Maja Power. You must be a chief human."

He gave me a creepy smile.

"This hunt just became more interesting."

His blade started glowing as well. He charged again—this time his movements were precise, like a martial artist.

He held his sword with refined discipline.

I watched him closely, curious about his next movement. Every step he took gave me a strange sensation.

"This is it," I whispered, my lips curling into a grin.

"This is what I like."

The thrill surged through me.

This sensation—the fighting instinct between two warriors—it excited me.

I smiled with happiness and lunged forward.

Our weapons clashed—the sheer force created a shockwave of energy.

We both bounced back, landing hard on our knees.

As our eyes met and we give each other smirk

Then, without hesitation, we charged again.

Our battle raged on.

After several slashes, I realized:

I'm superior in technique, but in strength and endurance—he beats me.

I couldn't afford to drag this fight.

Then I got an idea.

He doesn't know I have two knives on my back.

I formed a strategy to use my new moves.

We clashed a few more times—then I was ready.

I need to give him bait first...

As we were about to clash again, our weapons struck—and I let go of my spear.

He noticed and grinned.

"Got you."

He shifted his stance and attacked with full might. His blade was about to cut me—but I drew my knife just in time and blocked it.

The impact shook me from hand to leg.

I roared—

Then, in a flash, from my other hand, I drew my second knife.

I use Arnis, the Filipino martial art—my knife glowed with a green light.

I threw it.

The knife pierced the beast's neck directly.

He let go of his blade and grabbed at his neck—green blood sprayed out as he tried desperately to stop the bleeding. as he is in agony.

He gave me one last look.

"I got you, bastard," I said.

He collapsed. Dead.

Panting, I said,

"Well, that was some nice morning exercise."

I approached the corpse to see what valuable things I could collect.

First thing—I took his fur coat.

"I'm no damn Tarzan.who can roam in jungle with wearing just shorts"

I wore it—it felt a bit more comfortable.

I found a few more useful items:

• A belt to carry weapons

• A leather pouch

• A wooden bottle of water

As I was searching more deeply, I suddenly heard a voice.

"You killed an orc warrior."

I instantly took a defensive position and wielded my spear, pointing it toward the direction of the voice.

I saw two men in tribal attire.

The one who spoke was tall, with a nice physique—a white guy. The other was similar, but he wore a bone mask shaped like an eagle head, covering his entire head.

I replied,

"Who are you?"

They said,

"We are Rong village people. It is nearby this place."as they trying to put calm exppression

They continued,

"Can you tell us your village? Or are you some village chief?"

I said, with direct look

"I am not from any village."

He said, with happiness in face

"Oh? To think you can use glowing power... I thought maybe you were some village chief."

They looked at each other.

"So if you are not affiliated with any village, do you mind joining ours?"

I said, with smirk and suspicious look

"You just met me, so why are you recruiting me this easily? Do you really think I'm telling you the truth?"

They looked at each other again. The eagle-head guy said, with sigh

"Well, it's true—we're always cautious with other people. But we need your help. Someone with your strength can help our village from being destroyed."

I said,

"Destroyed?"

I looked at them silently.

Then the first guy knelt down and said,

"Please help us with your strength. I am willing to make you chief."

I was surprised.

"Chief? Me?"

The eagle-head guy said, with tough voice

"Dries, what are you saying?"

The kneeling guy replied,

"Our father is injured. Just look at this person—he defeated the orc warrior alone. So he is definitely stronger than Father. And our village rule is: the strongest person becomes chief."

The eagle-head guy said,

"But how can we trust an outsider with such an important position?"

The kneeling guy replied,

"We were also outsiders at some point."

The eagle-head guy said, with angry tone

"Our case is different."

I raised my hand.

"Wait a minute." i said with loud voice

They stopped talking and turned their heads toward me.

I said, with tough look

"First—I'm not completely agreeing to your demand. And secondly—I will make my decision after I see the situation."

In my mind,

Well, for now it's best I reach their village and gather some information about this place... or maybe this world.

They both glanced at each other and said in unison,

"Okay."

I said,

"So first, you people will move—and I'll follow you."

They said,

"Okay."

I took all the stuff from the corpse and started following the two, remaining alert at all times—my spear gripped tightly in hand.

I observed them carefully. The speaking guy carried a spear with a stone spearhead and a hammer made of rock.

The other guy with the eagle skull mask looked more problematic. He also had a spear and carried a blowgun to shoot darts.

After walking for half an hour, we reached a plain field in the middle of the forest.

On the field, there were several huts and one large hut at the center.

The village looked like something from 10,000 BC, with some minor upgrades.

I said,with low tone

"Let's see what new I can find here."
