Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9

The three Uchiha boys crept through the shadows, their voices low.

"Brother Toyoshi, remember to hit him hard! That punk made me look like a joke in front of the whole class!" hissed Uchiha Ei, the self-appointed ringleader.

"Hmph! I lost face too. Tonight, he pays," muttered Uchiha Cape, eyes gleaming in the moonlight.

Their leader, older than the others, was the infamous Uchiha Toyoshi—someone Shigure had secretly investigated. A genin longer than most, his arrogance was matched only by his aggression.

"Seriously? You let some no-name beat you?" Toyoshi sneered. "And now you need my help to deal with him? What a disgrace."

"It's fine," Toyoshi added, brushing aside a curtain of leaves. "We're prepared. He won't know what hit him."

From his hiding spot on the roof, Shigure watched with narrowed eyes, his Byaringan quietly active. The three Uchiha had entered his home without hesitation, unaware they were being watched.

"So… they're really here to take revenge?" he thought, tightening his grip behind the rafters. "Why? The Shigure before I reincarnated… was just an abandoned Uchiha? Is that why they targeted him?"

His expression hardened.

"Well, since you're here—don't expect to leave easily."

Inside the House

The Uchiha trio slipped into the bedroom where "Shigure" lay sleeping under the covers.

"Heh! Not even on guard. This'll be too easy," Ei whispered, pulling a sack over the still form on the bed.

With a smirk, Toyoshi handed him a wooden staff. "Let's teach this loser a lesson."

Without hesitation, Ei raised the stick and began striking the covered form.

"Not so tough now, huh?!"

"Wait…" Cape paused, frowning. "Something's off."

Before he could finish the thought—

POOF!

The figure in the sack vanished in a cloud of smoke, revealing a log.

"Substitution Jutsu!?"

"Crap! We've been found out!"

"Retreat!" Toyoshi barked.

But it was too late.

Three Shigure shadow clones dropped from the ceiling and blocked the exits.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu…?" Toyoshi's eyes widened in disbelief. "That's B-rank ninjutsu! What genin can—?!"

Shigure himself emerged from the shadows, eyes gleaming with challenge.

"Well, well. The proud Uchiha clan reduced to thugs, sneaking into homes and ganging up on one of their own?" he said, voice calm but cutting. "Classy."

The clones cracked their knuckles, ready to strike.

"H-hey! This is a misunderstanding!" Ei stammered. "We just came to talk!"

Toyoshi growled. "Enough of this! Cape! Now!"

Almost instantly, two voices rang out behind Shigure:

"Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu!"

"Fire Style: Dragon Fire Jutsu!"

From opposite sides, Cape and Toyoshi had already completed their hand signs.

Phoenix Fire Jutsu launched a rapid volley of small fireballs in an arc, while Dragon Fire Jutsu fired a concentrated, piercing stream of flame in a straight line.

Shigure and his clones moved in a blur, dodging just in time as the house around them ignited.

Flames licked the walls and ceilings—turning his home into a furnace.

Cape sneered. "Try dodging this, you fake Uchiha!"

Shigure didn't flinch.

Both he and a shadow clone performed rapid hand seals—faster than either Uchiha could follow.

"Earth Style: Earth-Style Wall!"

(Doton: Doryūheki!)

Twin walls of earth erupted from the floor, shielding them from the incoming fire jutsu.

BOOM!

The fireball strikes collided with the earthen barriers, exploding into sparks and smoke.

"What?! He blocked it?!"

"No way… he used an advanced Earth Release technique?!"

Cape and Toyoshi exchanged alarmed glances.

Shigure stepped through the smoke, unscathed.

"You underestimated me. That was your first mistake," he said coldly. "Your second was attacking me in my own home."

His chakra flared slightly.

"They didn't hesitate to use lethal ninjutsu… in a civilian neighborhood."

Shigure narrowed his eyes and growled, "Aren't you afraid this'll draw attention from the Konoha Military Police?"

Uchiha Toyoshi and Uchiha Cape exchanged a look—then burst out laughing.

"Hah! Kid, don't play dumb!" Toyoshi sneered. "You really don't know?"

Cape smirked. "The Uchiha clan is the Konoha Police Force. We're the ones who decide what gets reported… and what gets ignored."

"In other words," Toyoshi said smugly, "we already cleared this whole area. No one's coming to save you tonight."

Shigure's expression darkened as realization settled in.

So that's how it is... These three planned everything in advance. No interference, no help. Just execution.

"In that case…" Shigure's voice dropped an octave, filled with steely resolve. "I'm not holding back."

"I, Uchiha Shigure, repay every debt. Whether it's kindness… or blood."

Without wasting another word, he slammed his hands together.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" (Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!)

Two more clones appeared beside the three already summoned. Five clones—plus the original. Shigure's chakra was nearly at its limit, but the battlefield was his.

The six Shigures dispersed immediately, forming a perimeter around the three Uchiha aggressors.

"Don't let him surround us!" Toyoshi barked.

But it was already too late.

In a flash of motion, the real Shigure rushed forward, hands weaving through seals with blinding speed.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" (Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu!)

A massive torrent of flame roared from his mouth, far larger than a typical Academy-level fireball. It spread across a wide arc, flames licking across the walls, the air vibrating from the heat.

"That's not a normal fireball—it's huge!" Cape's eyes widened.

"MOVE!!" Toyoshi shouted.

The trio barely dodged the searing wave of fire, leaping in different directions. But it was exactly what Shigure had predicted.

Split them. Drive them into the formation.

From their flanks, shadow clones closed in.

With a low hum, Shigure's Byaringan activated—three tomoe spinning in each eye, merged with the clarity of the Byakugan. The entire chakra network of the three Uchiha was laid bare before him.

"He has the Sharingan… and the Byakugan?!" Ei gasped. "That's… that's impossible!"

"White eyes… three tomoe…" Cape whispered in disbelief.

"Surprised?" Shigure asked coldly. "There's more."

He turned to his clones.

"Let's see how you like it—facing your own clan's techniques."
