Shen Yan opened his eyes.

This time, he wasn't surrounded by blood, a judgment bench, or the roar of system voices.

He stood in a spotless white office—like the front desk of some futuristic laboratory. He could even hear ambient music flowing quietly in the background.

A soft voice spoke near his ear:

"Welcome to the Fate Editing Bureau. Editor No. 1728, please proceed with identity binding."

He looked ahead. A shimmering light slowly unfolded in the air, a holographic-like projection interface.

> [Editor Name]: Default Bound – Shen Yan

[Fate Code]: ∞-1728

[Initial Access Level]: Grade C (Permission to view own fate line and intervene with the fate of the "deceased")

—The fate of the deceased?

Shen Yan frowned slightly, but before he could think further, the hall doors slid open automatically. A figure walked in with steady steps.

It was a teenage boy—around seventeen or eighteen. Pale-skinned and slender, he wore the same "Fate Editor Uniform" as Shen Yan: a gray-blue coat with an embroidered code on the right arm.

He stopped in front of Shen Yan, his gaze laced with a strange curiosity.

"So you're the special-access one this time?" He tilted his head. "The main system gave you an 'infinity' code... We've all been wondering what makes you so special."

"Who are you?" Shen Yan asked.

The boy grinned.

"Name's Lin Lan. Code 1573. Also one of your teammates for this instance."

He paused, then suddenly the grin faded from his face. His voice dropped a few notes deeper.

"But here, no one is really anyone's 'teammate.' We're grave-diggers of fate. Every act of interference might alter the future... or ruin someone entirely."

Shen Yan watched him in silence, offering no response.

Lin Lan stepped closer, lowering his voice to a whisper:

"You know what? The final boss of this instance is someone named Yi Nan. He was a Fate Designer from the previous generation. Now... he's a traitor to the whole system."

"He knows everyone's fate line—and he knows who you are."

"If you don't want to be erased in here, don't trust anyone lightly—not even me."

With those words, the boy turned and walked down a side corridor, leaving Shen Yan standing alone on that blindingly white floor, as if strangled by invisible threads of fate.

—This time, what he faced was no longer a court of moral judgment.

It was a war for sovereignty over fate.

And perhaps...

He was already being written into someone else's future.
