Zeke stayed at Cassidy's apartment until late. Besides playing with Claire, he spent time talking with Cassidy or just sitting quietly together. Even without many words, they felt comfortable and completely content.
When it was time for Claire to sleep, Zeke told Cass, "Let me put her to bed."
In Claire's room, as usual, she asked Zeke to tell her a story about The Little Prince. Zeke lovingly told the story until Claire fell asleep.
When he returned to the living room, Cassidy was gone. He looked for her in the kitchen but didn't find her there either.
Then Zeke went to Cassidy's bedroom and knocked, but she didn't answer.
Feeling more confident, he gently opened the door. Since they were already back together, he figured it was okay to enter her room.
Cassidy wasn't in the bedroom, but Zeke heard the shower running from the bathroom.
He decided to sit on Cassidy's bed and wait for her to finish.
The room was quiet, and he just stayed there, waiting patiently.
