Ilwoo's eyes slowly fluttered open against the beams of sunlight piercing through the curtains as he sat in the corner of the bed. He looked out the window, wondering if anything seemed different.
"I thought for a moment it was all part of a dream, huh?" he muttered, just as he heard a faint sound outside the door before getting up.
"Excuse me, Master Ilwoo," Istella's voice came from beyond the door as he glanced toward it.
"What is it?" Ilwoo asked, watching the door cautiously.
"Master Ilwoo, the first day to attend the academy begins in two hours."
"Hmm… okay. I'll get ready. You stay outside—I'll come out later."
"…Understood, Master Ilwoo." With that, the maid's voice faded, and Ilwoo heard her footsteps vanish as she walked away after a while.
"Sigh… I can't trust any demon anyway. Still, I've prepared for the first day of attending the academy," he muttered, eyes resting on the clothes laid out for him on the table.
