“Don’t worry. They were dismissed by noon,” Vlad reassured her.
“Dismissed? Are you saying the Prince and Princess have left Cadis?” Liliette asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.
“Yes, that’s correct.”
His demeanor was as nonchalant as if he had just swatted away a fly. It wasn’t merely satisfaction—it was the calm of someone who had executed a job with precision. The unshakable confidence on his face only deepened Liliette’s unease.
She replayed every interaction she had witnessed between Vlad and the von Palestri siblings. There was nothing she could describe in a positive light.
“What have you done?” she demanded.
“The Prince’s only purpose here was to fetch the Princess, so there was no reason for them to stay any longer. I simply reminded them of that.”
