Chapter 29 - Zack vs John

The next morning.

Both awakeners stood face-to-face, waiting for the signal that would unleash their clash.

The moment came—

"FIGHT!"

Without hesitation, both John and Zack charged at each other.

For a while, they exchanged blows—testing each other's strength, gauging their attacks, and learning the rhythm of each other's fighting style.

Then, with a powerful leap, both jumped back, creating distance between them.

John smirked and said,

"I must admit, this is the first time I've faced an awakener who has come this far purely through training. I can tell—your strength wasn't given, it was earned. Fighting you is… exhilarating."

Zack smiled in return.

"And this is also the first time I'm fighting a true awakener—someone who believes in training makes a man perfect. This… is what I've been waiting for."

And then, the two clashed once more.

For a while, the fight raged on—but it became clear that John was beginning to overpower Zack. His years of experience were showing, every move reflecting that he was not the kind of man who would accept defeat easily. It felt as though John truly had the upper hand… and that he might actually be able to defeat Zack.

In the stands, every awakener watched in silence, their gazes locked on the battle. What will happen? Who will win?

Even Headmaster Reali, Mr. Rafel, and Argon observed with utmost seriousness, judging every strike, every movement.

Then, John made his move—

with his spear, he unleashed a powerful strike that sent Zack flying backward, crashing onto the ground at a distance.

Zack, though injured, pushed himself back to his feet. His body ached, but his spirit refused to give in. Once more, he charged forward, clashing with John.

The battle grew more and more intense, captivating everyone in the arena.

John seemed to be on the verge of victory—his overwhelming skill pressing Zack into a corner. But Zack was not ready to accept defeat. Not now. Not ever.

Finally, Zack made his decision.

If I fight him like this, I can't win… I have to use it.

He shifted his stance into Kalthok Swordsmanship.

In that very instant, his eyes began to glow with a fierce, crimson light.
