Chapter 386 - Chapter 386: The Two-Year Promise

"Sasuke, you've actually awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan?!"

On the playground, Naruto Uzumaki stared at Sasuke Uchiha in shock.

Those crimson Mangekyo Sharingan eyes were especially striking, radiating an eerie aura.

Sasuke let out a slightly smug hum and pointed at his own eyes. "Naruto, from now on if you have any problems you can't solve, just tell me. My current strength lets me do anything."

"Che!"

"C'mon, tell me how your eyes suddenly evolved into the Mangekyo Sharingan?"

Seeing Naruto's curious expression, Sasuke explained, "Mirai personally helped me evolve my eyes into the Mangekyo Sharingan."

"What? You're jealous now, aren't you?"

Naruto rolled his eyes and retorted indignantly, "My dad promised that I'll make a Summoning Contract with the Frogs of Mount Myoboku and learn Sage Art there."

"He also said he'd ask Mirai to teach me powerful Wind Release Kinjutsu."

"After I master these techniques, you definitely won't be able to beat me."

Sasuke replied calmly, "We'll see about that when the time comes."

As she listened to their conversation, Sakura Haruno looked on with a mix of admiration and envy.

She also wanted to learn powerful Ninjutsu, but unfortunately had no such opportunities.

What good was it being top of the class at the Ninja Academy?

In the real world, pedigree and strength mattered most.

Without resources or support, she could never catch up to others' footsteps.

She longed for Mirai's help too, but given her status, even getting a glimpse of Mirai would be considered extremely lucky — let alone having any chance of receiving personal guidance.

Soon enough, Kakashi Hatake appeared before the three genin.

"Today's mission is beast removal."

"A few heads of wolves have come down from the deep mountains, and we need to deal with them."

[Amaterasu!]

Looking at Sasuke, whose Sharingan eyes bled tears of blood yet still looked excited, Kakashi couldn't help reminding him, "Sasuke, the ocular power consumed by the Mangekyo Sharingan cannot be restored. Overusing it might cause blindness."

"It's just some wild wolves. You shouldn't need to use the Mangekyo Sharingan for this, do you?"

Sasuke replied coolly, "Don't worry, Kakashi."

"In the near future, I will transplant my father Fugaku Uchiha's eyes. Then my eyes will evolve again, becoming the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan."

"This much ocular power consumption isn't even worth mentioning."

Kakashi knew Sasuke was about to go full 'Amaterasu mode' again — even stray dogs on the street wouldn't be safe.

But since his eyes wouldn't go blind anymore, there was no need to keep advising him.

Next to him, Naruto Uzumaki couldn't help but exclaim upon hearing that Sasuke Uchiha's eyes could awaken into the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, "Damn it! It looks like I need to go back and train harder too. I can't let this guy Sasuke get ahead of me..."

After completing their mission, Kakashi Hatake suggested going for barbecue.

Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha immediately agreed without hesitation, but Sakura Haruno declined with a shake of her head.

"Teacher Kakashi, I have some things to take care of at home, so I'll skip this dinner gathering."

"I'm really sorry. See you later."

Watching Sakura walk away, Naruto scratched his head, puzzled. "Strange, why does it feel like Sakura has been quieter lately?"

"Hmph," Sasuke scoffed. "Compared to you, everyone seems quiet."

"What do you mean by that?!"

"I'm saying you talk too much. Even that simple thing you don't understand proves how stupid you really are."

"I'll kill you! [Rasengan]!"

"[Amaterasu]..."

"Both of you, stop right there!" Kakashi Hatake stepped in between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha.

He felt a migraine creeping in.

Both Naruto and Sasuke were stuck in that intensely arrogant, overly confident stage of youth—and both wielded incredible power.

This is going to be trouble!

And what about Sakura...

At this rate, Team 7 might actually disband.

No good—he needed to do something about this!

"So what you're telling me is...you want me to take care of Sakura?"

Uchiha Mirai asked somewhat surprised as Kakashi Hatake came to visit him.

"That's right. The gap between her and her teammates keeps widening. If things keep going like this, Sakura might end up with serious emotional problems."

Mirai Uchiha took a sip of tea before speaking slowly, "She's your student after all—you should be the one worrying about these things."

Kakashi sighed helplessly. "I'm not really good at dealing with stuff like this."

"Mirai, just do me this favor."

Mirai Uchiha rubbed his chin thoughtfully before finally asking, "If I remember correctly, these ninja recruits should become adults in two years, right?"

"Just tell Sakura that when she graduates from her team duties, I'll help her enhance her strength."

Unlike the original story, under Uchiha Mirai's reforms, after graduating from the Ninja Academy, ninjas continued performing missions together in three-member teams led by a supervising Jonin.

They would remain in those teams until eighteen, at which point the team would be officially disbanded, and its members would go their separate ways—much like graduating from college on Lanxing.

Upon hearing Uchiha Mirai's promise, Kakashi Hatake's face lit up with excitement.

Even though it was still two years away—what did that matter?

How many people spend their entire lives yearning for such an opportunity!

Sakura would definitely be thrilled once she hears this news.

Thinking about it, Kakashi Hatake immediately took his leave.

He couldn't wait to share this good news with Sakura.

After he left, Mirai Uchiha's lips curled into a slight smile.

He hadn't been particularly fond of childhood Sakura, but he genuinely liked Sakura now that she'd grown.

Even if Kakashi hadn't come looking for him, given his personality, he wouldn't have let Sakura slip away either.

After all, there's a saying:

"Don't miss a good girl; don't let go of a bad girl."

Our goal is simple—nobody gets away!

---

"Kakashi-sensei, are you serious?!"

Sakura Haruno stared at Kakashi Hatake, her voice suddenly rising eight octaves.

Kakashi couldn't help covering his ears as he weakly replied, "Sakura, for this matter, I actually begged Mirai for the first time..."

"So there's no need to envy Naruto and Sasuke anymore—you'll receive the same treatment in two years."

Sakura excitedly nodded. "Got it, Kakashi-sensei."

"Then I'll take my leave now."

After Kakashi left, Sakura instinctively pressed both hands tightly against her chest.

Otherwise, she feared her heart might burst out of her chest.

She was just an ordinary commoner without power or influence—and yet she'd gained the mentorship of Lord Emperor himself!

Once this gets out, it'll definitely send shockwaves everywhere, right?
