Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Powering Up – Kakashi Brings Guy to the Doorstep

Time flew by.

Another two months had quickly passed.

During these two months, Mirai Uchiha hadn't taken a single day off.

Accepting missions, executing missions...

He had become like a tireless machine.

His reputation gradually spread within Konoha.

Almost every Konoha ninja knew that among the newly promoted genin, there had appeared a genin obsessed with missions.

During these missions, Kurenai Yuhi had subtly asked Mirai several times whether he needed money, offering that she could help him borrow some from her father if necessary.

After repeatedly receiving no response, Kurenai could only give up helplessly and instead reminded Mirai to be careful during missions.

Although this high-intensity mission schedule left Mirai quite exhausted, his gains were great.

Besides daily battle-triggered rewards, he gained a total of 140 attribute points over these two months.

Thanks to his efforts, bandit problems across the Land of Fire had noticeably decreased.

[Name: Mirai Uchiha]

[Physique: 105]

[Spiritual Power: 92]

[Chakra: 59]

[Kekkei Genkai: Sharingan]

[Ninjutsu: Undisplayed]

[Other: Undisplayed]

Looking at his own attribute panel, Mirai couldn't help but smile with satisfaction.

After this period of accumulation, his physical strength had multiplied several times.

Although he still looked like just a teenager outwardly, in terms of strength, speed, and endurance, he was now nowhere inferior to jonin-level ninjas.

As for spiritual power, Mirai could clearly sense that his Sharingan had begun showing signs of evolving again.

It probably wouldn't take long before it evolved into the triple-comma Sharingan.

Comparatively speaking, his chakra hadn't increased much.

But that was unavoidable. Most of his attribute points came from slaying bandits. Since most of those bandits were ordinary humans, their stolen attributes mainly went to Physique and Spiritual Power.

"With my current strength, facing Kakashi Hatake again should mean an easy victory."

Mirai thought inwardly.

The younger Kakashi might have been among the most gifted shinobi, but compared to Mirai, he still lagged far behind.

The key point was...

Even the most talented individuals, after going through their early stage rapid growth phase, would eventually enter a stable period.

Everyone else—including Kakashi, Uchiha Obito, and Nagato—followed this pattern, except for Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha.

Advancing even further became as difficult as moving Mount Tai (an impossible feat).

And he had no such concerns. As long as he kept gaining attribute points, his strength would keep growing.

This—was the charm of allocating points!

Unfortunately, the recent bandit missions had run out, and the more difficult ones needed to be handled by ninja teams.

Kurenai Yuhi and Asuma Sarutobi clearly hadn't reached that level yet.

So... for the time being, he should probably ease off a bit.

However, Mirai Uchiha didn't dwell on it much.

After increasing his strength, he also needed some time to adapt.

Otherwise, he'd end up like Kaguya Otsutsuki—boasting incredible power but not knowing how to use it properly, which would be a complete waste.

Thud!

Thud!

Thud!

A knocking sound came from outside the door, snapping Mirai Uchiha out of his thoughts.

"Kakashi?"

Seeing the white-haired boy standing outside, Mirai Uchiha's expression showed a hint of surprise.

Why did Kakashi seem to be glaring at him with such hurt in his eyes?

"You won't acknowledge me unless I defeat you, right?"

Kakashi Hatake looked at Mirai Uchiha and spoke, his dissatisfaction barely concealed.

Mirai Uchiha then noticed Might Guy, wearing a green spandex suit, standing awkwardly to one side outside the door.

"Hehehe…"

"Mirai, Kakashi dragged me here to find you."

Looking at the two, Mirai Uchiha roughly understood what was going on.

Most likely, Kakashi had overheard his conversation with Might Duy back at the mission hall and had brought Might Guy along to find him.

Though his words had meant something else entirely than what Might Duy understood, there was no point explaining now.

"I lost last time—but that doesn't mean you're stronger than me."

"Today, we'll have a match. The loser will become the training partner for whoever wins against Guy."

Kakashi Hatake stared firmly at Mirai Uchiha while speaking.

As Konoha's once-top genius, he still had his pride.

That Mirai had beaten him once didn't mean Mirai could always beat him.

Last time, he simply hadn't expected Mirai to see through his tactics. If they fought again, Kakashi was certain he wouldn't lose to Mirai Uchiha a second time.

"Well, nothing can be done about this."

"Let's go."

Mirai Uchiha, seeing the fierce look in Kakashi's eyes, said nothing further. He turned and motioned them toward a nearby training ground.

Looking at the two facing off, Might Guy was beaming with excitement.

[Finally! Two geniuses clash in a decisive showdown!]

This—is true Youth!

Tears welled up in Might Guy's eyes.

Mirai Uchiha didn't doubt for a second that if Might Duy were here, they'd probably end up hugging and crying like father and son.

"Unlike last time, I'm going all out—so be careful."

Kakashi Hatake drew his tanto and gripped it tightly, eyes sharp as he stared down Mirai Uchiha.

Mirai Uchiha said nothing. He simply unsheathed his long katana and signaled Kakashi forward with a wave of his blade.

"Damn it!"

Kakashi snarled coldly, activated his Shifting Body Technique, and instantly appeared before Mirai Uchiha, launching relentless attacks.

"Your speed… it's too slow."

Mirai observed Kakashi's movements and muttered inwardly.

Although Kakashi moved faster than their previous encounter, this time felt significantly easier for him to handle.

Last time he had to activate the Sharingan just to track Kakashi's actions, but now he could clearly see every move without even turning it on.

With just a few casual counterattacks, he sent Kakashi scrambling to defend himself.

"Incredible!"

For Might Guy, both Mirai Uchiha and Kakashi now wielded overwhelming power far beyond his own.

Witnessing their rapid Taijutsu exchange was like watching a feast for the eyes.

"This guy… did he deliberately hold back last time?"

Although Might Guy felt calm, Kakashi grew increasingly alarmed as the battle progressed.

Mirai not only refrained from using the Sharingan, but with just a few effortless counters, he threw Kakashi into complete disarray.

It felt almost as though…

Their strength belonged to completely different levels.

"Kakashi, surrender."

"Not a chance!"

Kakashi drove Mirai back with one slash, quickly increasing the distance between them.

[Dog–Rabbit–Monkey!]

Electric arcs surged across Kakashi's right hand, producing a sound resembling a thousand chirping birds.

[Chidori!]

With a low cry, Kakashi shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, charging straight at Mirai.

The sheer speed left Might Guy stunned, his mouth agape.

"Mirai, look out!"

Crack!

A sharp noise rang out.

Time seemed to freeze.

Kakashi's right hand was caught barehanded by Mirai Uchiha, his scarlet Sharingan slowly rotating.

"Kakashi," Mirai warned calmly, "you should be more careful when using such dangerous Ninjutsu."
