Inside the speeding vehicle, Elizabeth looked up at her father, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"Dad, what's wrong? Why did we suddenly turn around?"
Claude's expression was firm as he gripped the wheel tightly.
"Because someone is coming to help us, sweetheart. We're heading to meet him now."
Elizabeth blinked. "Really?"
Claude nodded. "Your big brother—Nathan."
At the mention of that name, Elizabeth's eyes lit up. "But… didn't you say big brother might not be able to help with something this big?"
Claude smirked slightly, the corners of his lips curling upward despite the pain in his chest.
"I thought that too. But it seems Nathan has grown even more powerful."
Elizabeth clutched her seatbelt excitedly. "So we'll see him again? I really, really miss him!"
Claude sighed. "We'll see him soon, kiddo. Hang in there."
Before he could say more, a black car swerved out from a side road, heading straight toward them.
Claude's eyes sharpened.
HYDRA.
They were relentless.
Without hesitation, he slammed the gas pedal, shifting gears to maximum. The tires screeched as the car launched forward.
Bang! Bang!
Bullets rained from the enemy car. One of the HYDRA agents leaned out of the window, firing with precise aim at Claude's tires.
Claude swerved, dodging expertly, but he couldn't avoid them all.
One shot landed.
Boom!
The car's front tire exploded.
Claude's vehicle skidded off the road and slammed into a tree. The airbags burst open with a deafening whoosh.
Claude's head slammed against the steering wheel. A gash split open across his forehead. Blood streamed down, and his whole body screamed with pain.
Elizabeth, miraculously, suffered only light injuries—a scraped forehead, a bruised elbow.
But she didn't scream.
She stayed calm, holding her head and turning toward her father. "Dad? Are you okay?"
Claude coughed and shook the dizziness from his head.
"I'm… fine. Just a scratch."
Outside, the HYDRA agents approached.
Claude reached over, pressed Elizabeth's head down. "Stay low. Daddy's got this."
He winced as he opened the car door, every movement sending jolts of agony through his limbs. He reached behind the driver's seat, retrieving his gun.
Inside the car, Elizabeth huddled quietly. She murmured to herself, "Big brother said we'll be okay… We'll be okay…"
Claude took aim from behind the car door and fired.
Bang!
One HYDRA agent fell.
The second agent fired back, forcing Claude to retreat as bullets pinged off the metal frame.
With a quick breath, Claude rolled out, took aim, and shot again—dropping the second attacker.
His own car was totaled.
He limped to the enemy vehicle, pulled open the door, and carefully loaded Elizabeth inside.
"Hold on," he said. "We're still getting out of this."
---
At the same time, in Nathan's lab, dawn was beginning to pierce the edge of the sky. He hadn't slept. All night, he had worked tirelessly.
His fingers flew over the keyboard.
Suddenly—
Ding!
On-screen, data bars turned green. Rows of gene sequence combinations aligned.
Every strand matched perfectly.
A prompt appeared:
> [✅ Extraordinary Spider Sequence Genome: Matching Complete!]
> [Genome Successfully Integrated and Locked!]
Nathan stood up, breath caught in his throat.
"I did it… It's done!"
Over ten thousand spider genome variants tested.
And now—he had a perfect match tailored to his DNA.
This was no ordinary spider ability. This was his own design.
Nathan rushed to the next phase: editing the genome into the enhanced spider unit.
This spider was no longer just a creature. It was a genetic delivery system—a biological injector designed to carry and insert the customized genome into a human host.
He carefully loaded the new genome into the spider.
Snip. Adjust. Reshape. Insert.
Gene editing at this level was something only a few minds on the planet could manage.
Nathan was one of them.
After several hours of precise engineering, the job was done.
He stared at the small, red-and-black arachnid nestled inside the containment pod.
It blinked at him with eight beady eyes.
"Now comes the risky part."
Nathan took a deep breath, then extended his hand into the chamber.
The spider crawled slowly onto his skin. Its touch was faint, ticklish.
Nathan tensed. He'd feared spiders before—but now? He was past fear.
"Come on… Bite me."
The spider didn't move.
In fact, it began spinning silk on his wrist.
Nathan twitched. "You've got to be kidding me."
He shook his arm. The spider clung tighter.
He poked it. The spider nestled lovingly against his skin.
"Great. I made a genius spider that's also a pacifist."
Frustrated, he muttered, "Bite me or I swear I'll deep-fry you."
That seemed to work.
The spider paused.
Then, tentatively, it opened its mandibles—and sank them into Nathan's flesh.
The injection began.
Nathan's breath hitched. A strange warmth spread from the bite—then icy chill, then burning fire.
His knees gave out.
He staggered into his chair, eyes fluttering shut.
He fell into a deep sleep.
---
Inside his body, the change had already begun.
Spider DNA fused with human cells.
Muscles hardened. Bones shifted subtly.
Nerves accelerated.
A new kind of strength began to bloom inside his core.
Climbing ability. Super reflexes. Telepathic spider sense.
Everything was evolving.
The transformation was complete by morning.
Nathan stirred in the chair, groaning. "Ugh… Did I fall asleep?"
He rubbed his eyes, looked around.
The spider was asleep too—curled up in a corner of the containment pod.
Nathan stood slowly.
He felt it immediately.
His entire body pulsed with energy.
"This is insane… This power…"
He clenched a fist.
The floor cracked beneath his feet.
"Oops."
He calmed his strength. Slowly, he made his way to the strength-testing room—a specialized chamber he had built for testing physical output.
A wall of reinforced alloy waited.
He took his stance. Breathed.
BAM!
He threw a punch.
The walls vibrated. The sensors whirred.
> [Recorded Strength: 15 Tons]
"Fifteen…" Nathan blinked.
Fifteen tons.
Before the transformation, his Super Soldier Serum gave him about 2–3 tons of force.
This was five times that. Maybe more.
And that was just the beginning.
He threw another punch.
> [15 Tons]
Consistent. Reliable.
Nathan grinned.
"With this power… I can take on HYDRA's entire special ops."
But he knew better than to get cocky.
"This is just the start. Spider powers are scalable. If I can push this ability… Maybe I can reach 50… 100… maybe even Hulk-level tonnage one day."
He knew Wolverine's self-healing had limits—even Logan had aged, his healing factor exhausted eventually.
If he didn't use his power carefully, even he could fall.
Nathan flexed his fingers.
It was time.
Time to leave the lab.
Time to face HYDRA.
Time to rescue the people who had risked everything for him.
Claude. Elizabeth.
He turned back to the sleeping spider.
"Thanks, buddy. You did great."
Then he walked toward the exit.
