"Um, it's nothing serious, Captain. Like I said, his beast would only be triggered if he faces serious, intense emotions as he still hasn't learned how to control them. Perhaps it's something you did to him?" Corvin's voice was a calm reverb over the quiet room.
His eyes carefully watched the way Axton carried a now-sleeping Ren in his lap like some fragile doll and his arms locked around Ren's waist as if letting go was a taboo.
He quickly looked away, shuffling his feet quietly on the floor.
"I did nothing to him. We were... discussing," Axton frowned as he spoke, his eyes lowering to Ren, who was resting his head on his chest as he slept.
He had fallen asleep before Corvin arrived, leaving him to explain what he thought was the problem to Corvin.
Corvin cleared his throat, "Um, if I'm allowed, may I ask what it is you were saying to him? I just need to make sure -"
"You're not allowed, Corvin. You're dismissed," Axton cut in coldly.
