Chapter 38 - The Princess of Conquest

[Verdantia – Ashura Dominion Capital]

The war room was silent, save for the sound of a jeweled boot striking marble floor with every slow step.

She entered alone.

Her eyes were like fire behind cold glass — sharp, regal, untouched by doubt.

The commanders stood taller in her presence. Even the old generals didn't dare speak without permission.

"Status?" she asked simply.

One stepped forward and bowed.

"Three minor kingdoms have surrendered. No resistance."

"And the Queen's territory?"

"Holding firm. Reinforcements spotted along the outer hills. Defensive runes active."

"Good," she said, a smirk tugging at her lip.

"Then it's time."

👑 Ashura's Heir

She was not just a commander.

She was Ashura's daughter.

A princess not born into royalty — but carved from war.

While her father ruled through strategy, fear, and theft of the Demon King's legacy…

She desired something more.

"That kingdom," she said, pointing to the Queen's banner on the map, "was always the most beautiful."

"The architecture. The balance. The people's pride."

"I want it as mine."

🐍 Her Method Is Different

"Burning it would be too easy," she said.

"I want it conquered. Claimed. Rewritten."

"When they speak of the Queen's land, I want them to say it was mine all along."

The generals looked at each other.

"Princess, we've begun seeing unrest. Rumors spreading about the Demon King."

She paused.

Her fingers tapped the table once.

"Let them whisper," she said.

"Let them dream."

"They think they want their 'savior' back?"

She smiled now, something cold and cruel.

"Then I'll give them something to fear again."

🛡 The March Begins

The doors opened.

Ten thousand soldiers stood ready outside the palace — formations lined like blades across the hills.

War beasts. Mage units. Siege serpents.

And above them all, a crimson banner with the Ashura sigil burned against the sky.

"We take the Queen's kingdom within a fortnight," she said.

"No delays. No survivors among their court. And when I sit on that throne—"

Her eyes narrowed.

"I want the last words out of their mouths to be my name."
