At Blakes' mansion,
Blake sat at the edge of the bed, staring down at the stack of documents in his hands. His eyes scanned them, but his mind refused to process anything. He sighed heavily, leaning back against the headboard. The idea of heading to his study to regain focus crossed his mind—but he dismissed it almost instantly. What was the point? Concentration was out of reach.
His thoughts kept circling back to Hailey.
The conversation they'd had at the movie set kept replaying over and over again. Seeing her that day hadn't been part of his plan. It had only been a sudden urge to see her. But as always, she never failed to leave an impression. And this time, it wasn't a good one.
