Chapter Title: Always In Control

Notice..

This is a work of fiction. It should be noted that event and characters are not real so if some situation and statement feel real then it all purely coincidental .

...

The man struggled to get back on his feet, wheezing from the blow. She crouched down to his level and, in one swift motion, gripped his throat.

"Don't push me to my breaking point," she whispered coldly. Her fingers tightened, cutting off his air. She didn't need to finish the sentence, he understood perfectly what came next.

He was moments away from blacking out when the sound of the door creaking open made her pause. She instantly loosened her grip, stood up, and something in her face changed. Her eyes softened and her lips curled into a childlike pout.

"Uncle, don't cry or you'll make Anna cry too," she said sweetly.

The man coughed, trying to catch his breath, but quickly played along.

"I just get sad seeing you like this," he muttered as the door opened and a nurse entered with a tray full of medication. The nurse greeted them both politely, but his eyes lingered a little too long, he was suspicious. Annalisa and the man both caught it.

But before anything else could happen, Annalisa turned fully into her childlike persona. She skipped over to the nurse with a bright smile.

"Hello, Uncle! Is it candy time for Anna?" she asked innocently. The nurse chuckled and nodded, believing the switch was genuine.

"Then… can my uncle over there have some too?" she asked sweetly, pointing at the man. To the nurse, it was just another moment of her split personality. But the man knew better. He saw the hidden glint in her eye.

He could see that she wasn't being kind. She was plotting something.

Not wanting to fall into her trap, the man made up his mind to leave immediately.

"Anna, Uncle can't stay long," he said with forced warmth, trying to sound like a caring relative. "But I'll try my best to visit you more often, okay?"

He waved goodbye to both Annalisa and the nurse, keeping his steps steady as he exited the room. The nurse watched him closely, suspicion creeping up his spine. No one, absolutely no one from Annalisa's family had ever come to see her in the past five years. Why now?

Unfortunately, there was no way to know what had been said between them.

Unlike the other patients' rooms, each equipped with surveillance cameras in every corner, Annalisa's room had none. Not anymore.

It wasn't because the facility didn't want to. In fact, they had installed cameras the very first year she was admitted. But nothing could prepare them for what followed.

Somehow, Annalisa always knew where the cameras were, no matter how small or hidden. She would stand directly in front of them and speak into the lens, begging in a soft, eerie voice:

"Please… don't watch me."

"Stop watching me."

"I'll be good if you stop staring."

From that moment on, she stopped sleeping. Her mental state deteriorated rapidly. She became violently unpredictable, attacking nurses with a precision and fury no one expected. They felt that, it wasn't just rage it was as if she was being controlled.

During one of her therapy sessions, when asked why she had hurt so many of the staff, Annalisa tilted her head and calmly replied:

"I don't know… The cameras told me to. They said I had to kill Doctor Henry… or they would punish me."

No one believed her. Not until one night, the security team watched her whisper to the lens "I'll do it. I'll hurt him. I'm ready now."

The next morning, Doctor Henry was found unconscious, barely breathing.

Terrified, the hospital had no choice. They removed every single camera from her room. And as mysteriously as it began Annalisa returned to normal.

Or at least… her version of normal.

What they didn't know was that it had all been an act, Annalisa's manipulation to stop them from constantly observing her.

Dr. Henry wasn't just another doctor; he had become a predator. He had started eying her for months, making small, suggestive comments that no one seemed to notice. Annalisa had been well aware of his intentions, even though she never spoke a word about it. Her act, her pleas to the cameras, her supposed "breakdowns". it had all been part of her plan to make them pull the surveillance.

But she didn't just want the cameras gone, she wanted him gone too.

The night they found Dr. Henry was the night he had crossed the line. It was the night he tried to force himself onto her. He thought she was vulnerable, her mind fractured, her actions unpredictable. But he was wrong.

She had prepared for this moment for years. The cameras had been her distraction, but in the chaos, she had prepared how to make him feel the fear she had lived with for so long.

The nurses who found him the next morning couldn't even recognize him. He was lying unconscious in her room, beaten and bloodied beyond recognition. His hands were still clutching the bedsheets, as if they were his last desperate attempt to hold onto something.

But he never spoke a word about what happened. His pride, his arrogance, his desire to control were all gone. When they tried to question him, he could only mumble incoherently. The hospital couldn't report it without implicating themselves. He couldn't explain how he ended up in that state, nor could he defend himself against the truth.

Annalisa had made him pay for everything he had try to do to her and done to countless others.

As far as anyone knew, Dr. Henry had simply disappeared into the system, his career buried under the weight of an unspoken truth. The staff, the doctors, the nurses, they all moved on, unaware that the real horror was still locked within Annalisa's fractured mind.

And Annalisa? She simply smiled to herself, watching as they all believed the lie. The truth was hers alone, and she was content knowing that no one would ever truly understand what had happened. No one would ever know that she had been the one to make him regret every thought, every glance, every move he had made toward her.

But that was fine. She didn't need them to know. She had always been in control.
