Chapter 61 - "Sacred Capital: My Door, My Floor!."

-----

"Bullshit! I say the door's just too damn small!" Bo Gang growled. He knew he was massive, but he wouldn't stand anyone commenting on it. He roared in anger.

His voice turned into visible soundwaves, kicking up a wind that made Ling'er stumble back several steps.

"Lord Bo Gang, you—hmph!"

Ling'er frowned. She wasn't just anybody—she was an attendant of the Sacred Capital, second only to the Sacred Master himself. Her strength might not match that of the demon lords, but she could tell she wasn't far off either.

Bo Gang's rude behavior definitely rubbed her the wrong way. But with all the other demon lords watching, she couldn't really lash out. So, she just let out a cold snort and walked over to stand quietly beside the Sacred Master.

"Sacred Master, your follower, Ling'er, seems to have a bit of an attitude toward us demon lords," said Ba She in a raspy voice.

Demon lords were the pinnacle of power, and Ling'er's behavior naturally sparked some discontent. But since they were on the Sacred Master's turf, only Ba She dared to bring it up.

"She's got every right to be annoyed," the Sacred Master replied lazily, clearly not caring at all.

Ba She frowned. The Sacred Master's shameless attitude left her speechless, and in the end, she had to let it go.

Meanwhile, Bo Gang finally forced his huge body through the door.

A loud cracking noise echoed through the hall—"CRACK—"

The Sacred Capital's palace was built with rare treasures and glittering crystals. But seeing Bo Gang smash his way through the entrance made the Sacred Master wince.

"My door!" he snapped.

Bo Gang brushed the rubble off his shoulders. His heavy steps made the whole palace shake as he stomped over and plopped down into the spot that best fit his massive frame.

"BOOM—"

The entire palace trembled. The jade-like floor cracked with deep fissures, making the Sacred Master clutch his heart in pain.

"Bo Gang, change into your human form already! My palace can't take your weight!"

The Sacred Master was clearly pissed. If Bo Gang caused any more damage, he'd be having this discussion outside.

"Human forms are weak and pathetic. You're the only one who likes them," Bo Gang scoffed, completely ignoring the Sacred Master's complaints.

He looked down at the salt-flavored meat grub in front of him, picked it up, and popped it in his mouth.

"Not bad," he muttered. But then his mood soured. "Why the hell aren't there any human slaves here to serve us? Big-ass palace, and it's just the eight of us demon lords?!"

He was used to being worshipped and waited on by human slaves every moment of the day. The empty hall felt way too quiet—and it pissed him off.

"BANG—"

"Enough!"

The Sacred Master slammed his fist down on the table, sending a deafening bang across the hall.

His body lit up with demonic flames, transforming into his true demonic form. He gave Bo Gang a cold glare.

"Bo Gang, are you here to start shit?!"

"You've pushed me again and again—what, you think I'm a pushover?!"

His terrifying aura swept through the palace, making the other six demon lords look grim.

The Sacred Master's power was… overwhelming.

He's grown even more dangerous. Looks like we need to start studying the rules of the world's powers too.

Only Zhou Lan remained calm. He could release the same level of magic power himself. He'd already expected the Sacred Master to be this strong.

"Alright, enough fighting!" Ximu suddenly interrupted.

"We eight demon lords haven't seen each other in ages, and the first thing we do is bicker? Come on."

"Let's focus on what we came here for—figuring out how to deal with the ones chosen by Positive Qi!"

Sensing that things might spiral out of control, Ximu, the peacemaker among the eight demon lords, quickly stepped in.

With Ximu speaking up, Bo Gang backed off. The Sacred Master did the same. But deep in his eyes, a cold gleam remained.

These fools refused to understand the fundamental rules of the world. No wonder the Eight Immortals sealed them away. They brought it on themselves.

Let's see what this little strategy meeting will even accomplish.

Positive Qi had already hidden the aura of the Eight Immortals. Without their black energy trail, even the eight demon lords had trouble finding them.

Seeing Bo Gang and the Sacred Master patch things up, Zhou Lan spoke up calmly:

"Since everyone's here, let's begin."

"The resurgence of Positive Qi is connected to the birth of eight individuals tied to our Yin-Yang Bagua counterparts. They're destined to rival us."

"According to historical texts, we know exactly who these eight are."

"Given the current state of the world, they've probably already been born. Their strength may not be on our level yet…"

"But we should find them now and crush them before they grow stronger!"

"We've tried," Ba She cut in, shaking her head. "I've used magic to track them, but Positive Qi hides them too well—we can't locate them."

She paused and looked toward the Sacred Master. "But the spells suggest they're living on your territory, Sacred Master. That's why I picked your palace as the meeting spot."

Everyone turned to look at the Sacred Master.

"Sacred Master, those damn brats have been living in your domain for years. Got anything for us?" Xiaofeng asked.

"I've sensed shifts in heaven and earth," Ximu added. "The balance between Positive Qi and Black Qi is leveling out. That means those kids are getting stronger fast."

"I've felt their presence too," Di Kui growled. "Flowers bloomed across my lands—and just like Ximu said, Positive Qi is boosting their power like crazy!"

The demon lords' faces darkened.

Zhou Lan narrowed his eyes. "Sacred Master, you seriously haven't found anything? They've been in your territory—it doesn't add up."

The Sacred Master raised both hands in mock helplessness. "You all know this—we eight demon lords were born from the dark side of the Yin-Yang Bagua. They're the light."

"We're powered by Black Qi. They're powered by Positive Qi."

"And now that Black Qi is running rampant across the world, it's triggered a counterattack. Positive Qi protects its own, so of course their whereabouts are hidden."

"Even as the Fire Lord, I can't track them down."

After he spoke, the most hot-headed of the group, Zhong Su, snapped:

"So we're just gonna sit here and do nothing?!"

"Don't forget—according to the records of time, we get crushed by those eight!"

"Their weapons are tailor-made to destroy demon lords!"

That comment made everyone tense up again.

The future said they'd be sealed away—by those eight—and their weapons specifically counter demon lords.

If they didn't take action first, they'd just be waiting around to get stomped.

Only Zhou Lan and the Sacred Master stayed calm. The other six looked worried.

They knew those eight had already appeared… but they couldn't find them.

Frustrating didn't even begin to cover it.
